- The setting is amazing! Great location. And hotel employee at the stables was terrific.
- We had a wonderful stay at Castellare de Tonda! The staff were amazing – always helpful and full of great recommendations for places to visit, which made our trip even more special. The place really gives you the authentic feeling of agriturismo, and we had everything we needed during our stay. The pool area is lovely with an incredible view, and we especially appreciated staying in the area with more families – it was perfect for us and our kids. Highly recommended!.Special thanks to Simona and Lara

Cons -
- Limited access to food onsite-- from the times market and restaurant were open to what was available. Restaurant was very expensive. Apartments should be stocked with basic items to help making cooking in easier--salt/ pepper, olive oil, dish soap, sponge
- Did not realize these were two level places, pictures are a little deceiving. Unfortunately we were placed on the 2nd story, which was difficult with 2 elderly & 2 children. Our place faced the parking lot (beautiful views if you walk around property.) Playground was falling apart. Lots of amenities offered (if available) for additional cost, but must book a day in advance. Disappointed that the Spa was closed for maintenance and there is no longer any golf. Only received one set of towels for 4 nights, have to pay extra per person for additional towels. We were told we had to pay for the couch bed, which smelled like dog. At the end of the stay we weren’t charged thankfully. Originally charged for breakfast for 6 people 4 days, even though only a few of us ate on certain days. TV satellite was in German and never switched to Italian or English. Ant infestation in bathroom. No AC in living room or kitchen and AC was only working in 1 bedroom.

We had the most wonderful stay at Castellare di Tonda and cannot thank the entire team enough. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home—from their warmth and professionalism to the way they kindly accommodated our last-minute changes with such grace. The property is absolutely stunning, the food was exceptional, and every detail of the experience was filled with care and heart. It truly felt like a peaceful retreat, and the hospitality we received made it even more special. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already dreaming of our next visit. Thank you for everything—you made our time there unforgettable!
They were very nice people
Breakfast
actual room/property was 1km far from the reception or restaurant area which we were not aware in advance. so we had to load the luggage back in our car and drive to the property at night as we did late check in.
Great location with fantastic views. Nice amenities at a quiet location.
Bugs were present in the room periodically throughout the stay. All services were charged including a misunderstanding of the staff double charging for one breakfast during the stay, this was rectified when it was pointed out.
The location is so much fun and so huge! I regreted not to check in earlier. The horse stable is lovely! My daughter spent a morning there seeing those horses. The breakfast is good. The apartment is big enough for a family.Great value of money.
The breakfast room is too small and chaotic in the morning.
Magnificent location, perfect views, great service.
Rooms could have been brighter but it’s old cottage houses so that’s all great any way ?? loved it there !
great location and services, comfortable space, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service especially in reception!
The location is magnificent, the views, the wellness path is amazing, especially the jacuzzi, the breakfast very good.
The restaurant was closed between 2 and 6 pm,no other restaurant near by,the menu is very thin but you can find something to eat,the service very slow. The rooms are nice but need a little bit of refurbishment, the cleaning was not done for the 3 nights we stayed.
The location, big rooms
The restaurant is a little expensive with small dishes
Great views from the location that we were allocated. ( We were upgraded from a one bedroom apt to a three bedroom house). Staff are super. Food was good, both the included breakfasts the extra cost dinners. Great bar facilities as well.
VERY POOR Wifi in the residences...very low speed and only worked outside and then just barely. Hard to plan and research trips around the region as a result. Cell phone coverage is also mediocre in the area. Wifi at the main buildings was bearable. Also lacking laundry facilities..either washing or ironing.
The view was really beautiful and the location was perfect
The dinner was very expensive and very tasteless in buffet style. The room was very dark and also very dirty. Air conditioners making noise like a tractor and not working. We were very disappointed with the place because it has really high potential.
Lots of activities, a continental breakfast from buffet and a beautiful setting in Tuscan countryside. Rooms were spacious. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Noises from apartment above was little disturbing, and dinner could have been better. Also the 10:00 standard check out time is little early, as breakfast is served from 8 am.
Beautiful location, private pool divided between very few guests
The view from our apartment was fantastic. The pool was nice. The horse ride was a one of a kind experience, Luca, the horse ride instructor was amazing and she did a great job teaching us how to ride a horse. We felt truly immersed in nature and to be able to see different types of wild and domesticated animals really made our stay magical.
Our apartment was on the ground floor and the second night there were guests that were very noisy, started around 10pm and they settled at 2am . The next day we went to raised this issue and the receptionist explained to us that it was only for one night because the guests checked in late. They way she explained seems like something that happened often for late check in guest and yet they don't advise them to stay quite. The ceiling was definitely not sound proof so we could hear every step, running water and forniture moving. Another thing is that it's not clear what is provided in the kitchen so we didn't bring stuff like dishes soap and sponge. They have a dishwasher but some stuff it's just easier to be washed by sponge. One thing that was present in the description but was absent was the bidet. Also the aircon was not mentioned but seeing that it is present in each room was absolutely positive! The wifi coverage is terrible, it's only good at the receiption/restaurant area, other than that it is absent which for some people can be a good thing and help you to really detach from the outside world.
Good location, very nice scenery. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Small repairs like TV antenna and stalled chanalization in the shower are fixed quickly. The receptionists are friendly. There is enough space to park the car. The pool is nice and clean, well equipped with sunbeds.
The WiFi is weak, practically not available in the rooms only in the kitchen and outside, in front of the appartment. For those who like to stay connected to the Internet it is definetly not convenient. We also would have appreciated to have at least the bathroom cleaned at least once over our seven days stay.
Well appointed 1 bedroom apartment on a rural retreat style place.Breakfast was superb, as were the restaurant staff. Nice pool.
Whilst the kitchen was reasonably well equipped, there were no basic condiments. If you provide a kettle and a coffee maker, they should provide some tea and coffee. Not so. If you provide a kitchen, you should provide some dishwashing liquid and a dish cloth. Not so. If you have a swimming pool, you should provide towels. Not so. If you are staying three nights, you should expect the room to be serviced at least once. Not so.If you are not aware that you should bring all of the above items with you then you are somewhat stranded as the closest shopping is at least 15 minutes away. Travellers from overseas (like us) rarely have these items on hand.Activities on the retreat were very expensive. We did not see anyone taking these activities during our time there.Reception staff were not helpful.4PM check-in...
Beautiful location, nice and welcoming stuff, huge area with so many nice places and things to do, great spa with amazing panoramic views
Restaurant. Service. Barmen. Cocktails. Peaceful atmosphere. Views. Spirit of village
