    Pros +

    • Very comfortable hotel in the middle of nature and only silence around it.
    • I loved the first contact with the lady who greeted us and checked us in. I think her name was Alexandra. She is fantastic no matter how late or early she always has a smile went above and beyond turning on sauna for us, gave us such useful tips and information on where to go! I liked that it was close to the park, the view to the lovely river and beautiful nature and the fact they have a spa area. Breakfast was really nice! Bed was comfy, and at night it was quiet. The heating worked great as it was cold at nights so we just turned it on. The place and facilities were really clean despite being old the fact they kept things clean made it feel comfortable. Thank you!
    • Room was nice an comfortable and outdoor facilities amazing

    Cons -

    • was expecting more than 1 variety of fruit for breakfast but overall it had a lot of good quality options
    • It is a bit outdated in terms of the facilities, the carpet is worn out in places, you can see the areas around the bathroom with some damage and old blackness and calc. I feel like for the wear and tear the cost was too much for what it is. I mean the palace in Lousã is cheaper. It's also very child friendly which is great if you have kids but as a couple without kids it wasn't the relaxing spa forest experience we hoped ? kiddos running up the stairs on way to/from spa and at breakfast lots of noisy little ones. Also breakfast coffee ran out only had decaf lady had to go to the bar get coffee and the water of coffee machine always ran out both morning we were there. No sign nothing just you go up no coffee no water and then you had to ask. Scrambled eggs also ran out. Keep an eye on those things, make sure you're already working to replace when it starts going down and also plan for number of guests you have. Make some modern updates to rooms maybe get new or paint furniture, fix the walls and the balconies and then you'll have a better looking hotel :) it's worth it the space
    • The SPA and pool are small for the dimension of the hotel especially fully booked in august but the outdoor space provide other activities and compensate well

Not a high-rise hotel. Friendly reception staff.

Noise from below when moving tables and chairs in the dining room late at night.

    5JessicaPosted on: 1-3-2024

The staff was super friendly and welcoming.

The cost/performance ratio is not good. The deal we had was definitely overpriced (210.- for one night in a Standard Double room, breakfast included) The wellness area is ok but very small and more functional than recreating (e.g. the water in the whirlpool and the relaxing area was too cold.)

It’s a lovely hotel staff are wonderful great breakfast

It needs some maintenance wall paper peeling in our room little knocks here and there lots of lime scale in the pool some rust just general maintenance was lacking, hot tub did not work, my biggest disappointment is the restaurant it is awful I’m sorry to say choice is limited food is served cold or not cooked properly it is overpriced but there are plenty of good restaurants locally

    6Karol_17Posted on: 10-14-2023

Staff was very welcoming and the location is truly great.Calming surroundings and view from the room.

Reading other reviews, we were quite surprised to get a room that was dirty and needed some deep cleaning (bedside table was dirty, carpet with stains, the walls were not clean, broken curtains). Hotel starts to be a little bit shabby (ex. tiles in the bathroom were broken, the mirror was broken). The breakfast was relatively modest. Generally I wouldn't give the hotel 4 stars, it is an acceptable 3 star hotel.

The location was good as part of our journey further into Portugal

Poor maintenance of our bathroom door, smelly toilet that didn’t go away. Only one staff on duty when we arrived. No food available for dinner onsite and a dangerous gym where my husband had an accident

    10ValterPosted on: 10-2-2023

The breakfast moment was very rich and with several different options; and I especially enjoyed the indoor pool and the gymnasium. To finish, the staff was attentive and caring for everyone's needs. Excellent surprise!

Staff incrível desde as empregadas de limpeza as rececionistas, o pequeno almoço era óptimo e com muita variedade!

Acho que um ponto mais negativo é a internet! É boa mas para quem quer trabalhar não funciona a 100%

    8DavidPosted on: 9-14-2023

The staff, and especially the receptionist, was fantastic. ? ? The restaurant was superb, Ans The location is stunning

Foot note, I don't blame the staff, just the owners The Aircom to the bedroom didn't work ?? So had to leave the balcony door open all night, And for a country that loves its coffee, we were shocked only to have 2x sachets of coffee in the room and no milk/cream ?? Personally that's a very poor service for a 4 star hotel

    9GregoryPosted on: 7-17-2023

pool, spa, breakfast, restaurant, room. It's all good. I've stayed before and will again. I have more work in the area! The surrounding hills are stunning.

Calm and nice place. Rooms are ok, Spa is small but ok and breakfast was good.

Too expensive. Animals park access is paid separately and dinner was very bad (considering the reputation)....

    8SoniaPosted on: 4-26-2023

Great location! Lovely views.a lot of activities to do with your family (walking, tenis, indoor pool, etc)

Breakfast was a bit poor for a 4 stars hotel. Dinner was overpriced for the quality

    7AldaPosted on: 4-25-2023

Service at main desk was very good, specially with Andreia, who was great! The two younger girls were a bit lost and could have been more helpful but they were nice. We just had to spell everything out for them. The food was good both during dinner and breakfast, considering they can improve the service-side, it would be great.Despite the low temperature, the pool is good for kids, but bear in mind it is quite small. 5 people there and it's crowdy. There are two playgrounds outside (one belongs to the hotel and the other one to the public area). The roundabouts are great for hiking even with children. The hotel offered a kid ticket for the park and it was worth it.

Though the overall experience was good, there is room for improvements. The room:The booking was for people and the room was prepared for 3. 3 pillows were set, 3 adult gowns (we were 2 adults and 2 children). The second bed (the sofa) is so uncomfortable that was very difficult to sleep there. It's time to get a new one. Also, the door stopper in the bathroom was a mere screw - anyone could get seriously hurt there. We left a maintenance report o. The front desk and we hope it gets fixed.Facilities:Supposedly the swimming pool was heated but the water was cold (we went there on 4 different occasions). Something was broken, maybe.Meals service:Service during meals was very inconsistent from one day to the other. The service during the first dinner and breakfast was spotless. The service on the second day (dinner) was bad - to start with the lack of children chairs (we specifically asked for one the night before after booking) and the suggestion was to get some pillows from the our room (which we had to get). Then, one of the kids' meal was wrong, some items were forgotten, the waitress was completely lost and kind of just wandered around the dining room... We had to wait more than 10 minutes to get the menu for deserts only to be told there weren't any ice-cream "because it's not summer" (beware that most of the guests has children with them),... The staff from the first and the second dinners changed and the quality of service went down the hole (remember it's quite and expensive restaurant).Breakfast:Lacked fruit, actually. We had 2 options (roasted apple and pineapple / orange) and that was it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either.Again, during the first breakfast, there was a pancake machine and the kids (everyone, actually) were crazy about it. Second day: machine off and a bunch of sad kids and adults hopigg for a treat.

Excellent breakfast spread, indoor pool, games room, children room and very helpful staff

Restaurant opens very late (19:30) which makes it difficult to eat if you have small children

    5LyndaPosted on: 4-6-2023

A warm welcome from receptionist who was very helpful throughout stay

Staff levels - very poor both in restaurant and servicing of roomBreakfast not 4 star standard

    10AnaPosted on: 2-10-2023

Amazing hotel, great facilities, surrounded by nature and perfect for families with young kids.

    9NeilPosted on: 1-25-2022

Large modern, comfortable room with open view and sunlight in the morning. Spa facilities were all working (hot tub, sauna, steam room, pool) and not busy, thanks to booking slots. Staff were helpful and attentive. Free car charging for Tesla + a schuko socket, which is fine for an overnight charge. Wildlife park next door is good for a gentle walk.

Breakfast was let down by tasteless sliced cheese and fake orange juice, but otherwise quite comprehensive, including scrambled eggs and croissants. Dinner was disappointing given the price - we had vegetarian options and they are clearly an afterthought.

Breakfast is good. Room was very clean and confortable. Good facilities and location.

    Everything was perfect.
