- The location is quite remote, far from shops, medical facilities, and other services, but the surrounding nature and the nearby beach are wonderful. The hotel has a spacious garden and a terrace overlooking it. The rooms are large, cleaned regularly, and towels and bed linen are changed often. Breakfast is the usual one.The staff are kind and welcoming.
- This is a family hotel with climate. It is located in a quite area, even if in close distance there is a big resort. Next to the hotel there are available restaurants. In a very short walk distance we can go the very nice beach.
- Attentive family-style service. Good size room with nice view to the garden. Good location, very close to Kalogria beach.
Cons -
- The road to the hotel itself is quite primitive. The bathroom is small, with only a handheld shower and slow drainage. We also had problems switching on the air conditioning every time we needed it.There are no laundry facilities and no such services are offered. There is also nowhere to dry clothes – after coming back from the beach, there is no place to hang swimsuits and towels. The room has a small kitchenette with hot plates, but it cannot be used. There were more mosquitoes and wasps than usual. For a longer stay, as we did 6 nights, it is not that convenient.
- In the area are just a few restaurants.

We have been in many places in Greece but Hotel Amalia was excellent. In this accommodation we were lucky to meet one of the best hosts who paid attention to the smallest details throughout our stay. The rooms were ok and the cleanliness exemplaryKalogria has beaches with fine sand and clean water. Personally, I liked the nearby Gainiskaris beach the most.
In the area are just a few restaurants.
Hotel Amalia’s host is exceptional in all aspects of running a hotel. He made us feel right at home. He is attentive to his guests and is always ready to engage them in a warm and polite conversation. I would definitely stay there again without hesitation. He and his family are wonderful people.
Our stay was too short!
Very nice and profesional welcome, breakfast was excellent and the place is really quiet and peacefull. The sandhill beach nearby is wonderfull.
The location of the hotel is very good for the beach and getting around. The place is situated in mature woodland so there is nice shade during hot weather. The restaurant next door was absolutely great with all dishes prepared fresh and to perfection. The hotel and restaurant are much more low key than other resorts around, which is great for anyone who comes to this nature reserve for its unspoilt beauty and for the resort living. Breakfasts was a great surprise as it was very yummy. We loved the area and in my opinion this hotel is best choice for exploring its beauty.
The interiors are a little outdated, but it did not matter for us during a short stay.
Civilization and culture still live in Greece! Find it all in this really family hotel. Don't misinterprete "family". The staff is as professional as one can be. But they are gentle and kind and very dedicated to their hotel. One of the best homemade breakfasts I ever had (talking of hundreds of hotels) in a hotel. Absolutely homely "halvas", bougatsa, tyropita, local fresh fruit, and, and, and.... The rooms are functional and very clean. Nice garden for the morning coffee. 5 minutes walk from a still not too busy beach. Crystal clear waters. Absolutely recommended!!! Thanks guys! Keep up the great work. Tourism can still be a kind activity. From people to people.
We were the last and only guests for the season and in spite of that we got a fabulous, tasty breakfast. A hotel run by two sympathetic and easygoing brothers, peaceful and green location. It could not have been better!
If you are interested in spending time on the beautiful Kalogria beach, this hotel has a perfect location. The beach is literally a short walk away. This hotel was a pleasant surprise. the management was friendly, the room was a traditional Greek accommodation: roomy, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast offerings were fresh and tasty and the grounds, where we enjoyed breakfast outdoors, were lovely.
The location was a bit remote. It was perfect for visiting Kalogria Beach, but not near much else.
Location hidden in the woods, staff, room size, closeness to the beach and also breakfast!
Beds were rather small but OK
The hotel is most beautifully located under shady pine trees and surrounded by meadows and a small mountain ridge. The breakfast is excellent, the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome as a family with two children.
There is no mini market or supermarket nearby. It is difficult to buy food. The nearby campground has a mini market with almost no food.
Very beautiful location, quiet, big room, breakfast with many choices, wifi with good signal in the room, friendly, kind and helpful staff.
We.never had hot water. Cool to a little bit warm at best.
We picked Amalia for our three nights of rest in Kalogria, at roughly the mid point of our road trip around the Peloponnese (two/one nights in all the other places).Kalogria is wonderful. It is not somewhere you drive through on the way to anywhere. You have to want to go there, to the end of the road. And it is a gem of a place. The sandy beach, minutes' walk away from Amalia, overlooks Zakynthos and Kephalonia. Nearby there is an amazing lagoon and a densely forested area, parallel to the coast, which are protected nature reserves. Goats and turtles are all around. We had a studio at Amalia, as we were there for three nights. It had a large balcony with plenty of space to sit, a 'day bed' and a hammock chair. Overlooking the shady garden. Lovely. We had a bit of an issue with our rented car on our first day.... It meant that we spent much of the time with the totally amazing owners of this place, who could not have been more helpful. Our time with them took the concept of philoxenia and humour onto a different level! We had the best day - albeit Amalia Hotel bound -, we could ever have imagined!Breakfast is terrific here. The whole gamut of cooked, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, juices - and the best filter coffee. We had so much fun. Thank you all at Amalia!
(the bit I don't like, especially here, which was so exceptional in so many ways) OK so....the shower was interesting and took a while. Rudimentary is fine, and there were so many other compensating factors that made this a very special place.
Calm and quiet Hotel, very nice staff, beautiful and clean rooms, tasty breakfast and just 5 minutes to the awesome beach!
This Hotel is excellent and highly recommended for families!!!! Hosts were kind, friendly & helpful!I really enjoyed the time spent, and definitely i will visit again!tips: don't miss the breakfast, a walk to the beach and the amazing forest.
The greek hospitality of our Host Peri surpassed all expectations. The Hotel has a beautiful garden.By foot you reach the beach in less than 5 minutes, there we simply mentioned we are with this hotel and got a free sun bed + sun shade umbrella.Exceptional breakfast!
