Matala Bay Hotel

Room was fine, clean however the aircon sounded like a tractor

Breakfast, quite a few cheap offerings, like gooey preserves and poor quality pastries

It was in a great location, room was ideal and the pool area was really relaxing. Great breakfast too

Super friendly staff. The breakfast was perfect with plenty of options. And the location was brilliant, walkable to the beach and also has guest parking.

There was a rock band playing to midnight on my last evening (wednesday) and my room was directly next to it. This mean it was extremely loud in my room. I didn’t mention anything or request to change rooms, as im sure other holidaymakers were having a good time. But thought I’d give it a mention as it’s probably a good idea to perhaps put guests that will not be attending in rooms further away from the music. Otherwise, my time at the hotel was great! Thanks!

Breakfast. Wide variety of choices. Fried eggs were a nice touch. Outside seating by the pool was nice too.Pool bar also served snacks.

Tap in bathroom and shower plumbing were both worn out and the shower head actually came apart from the main bar holding it to the wall. Thankfully no injuries.No towels to take to the beach.

The pool was excellent, very clean with plenty of loungers and never crowded, also has a nice pool bar.The location is fine, ten minute walk into the village which it can be a hot walk.Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The main hotel building is nice but we had budget rooms over the road.The staff are friendly and helpful. there is a nice traditional taverna opposite the main hotel.

The 'annexe' seems to be a separate business. The room is a typical 'pension' room. We had a 2 bed apartment which was very basic and not very clean. There was a good balcony.The price was too high for the apartment.

No soundproofing, could hardly sleep because of the noise of other guests. No safe in the room. Repetitive breakfast, which it was plentifull but it gets boring after a week. And even though they say on their website that they provide ”Early breakfast service for guests that check out early in the morning. (upon request)” or ”We can provide you with special takeaway breakfast boxes upon request” we were not granted that request. The reception worker told us that we can only get a machine coffee, not even a peace of bread, so we had to buy our breakfast at a bakery. I agree with some of the other reviewers that not all of the guests are treated equally. Couldn't even get a good morning. I guess we were not german enough. The exception were an older gentelman at the lobby bar and a younger girl at breakfast.

The area near the pool is very nice and relaxing. Nice view by the rocks. Breakfast was good with a big variety. Employees serving the food were very kind!

In the room there was a bad smell in the shower.

Really really close to matala. We Just left out car and enjoyed matala night.Staff was super: very nice people.Room was very clean

The location is perfect! The pool with the mountain view is beautiful! And very friendly staff. Great location a bit away from the center but a nice walk by some small shops on the way.

Stayed here for one night. Good facilities swimming pool, games area, restaurant and bar. Clean and tidy. Friendly, helpful staff and great location to centre and beach. Breakfast was amazing! So much choice and availability and the breakfast staff couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend

Matala: lovely rooms and great pool area! The breakfast was quite good. 10 min walk gets you to beautiful Matala beach!

We took two rooms with different rate. The better one on the up floor with one big bed and one single bed was equipped with tea pot and had a big balcony with a table and tree chairs, pool and mountain view which we really enjoyed. (The door to a balcony included the insects net that was very convinient) . The hotel rooms were clean. The air condition worked properly even outside was really hot. The hotel has its own parking

The hotel stays in the entrance of the village. So it is a bit far from the sea, shops and tavernas

I paid €120 for one night, they placed us in the apartment in front of the hotel.It honestly has little of three stars, two at most. Old windows that creaked in the wind and were annoying in the night. Bathroom window in non-presentable condition.The room's furnishings were old, everything really seemed to have been repaired.I don't know what the hotel rooms are like but this one was really poor.The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool. However, there are not enough sunbeds. It was therefore not possible to enjoy the afternoon by the pool, we just sat on chairs. The door that separates the two rooms doesn't close so it's uselessWifi works badlyThe TV does not work.

Clean, comfortable and convenient rooms, and perfect location if you're planning on exploring Matala. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that visits there.The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast spread was also very nice with a lot of options.

Rock music concert (very high volume) till midnight and noise till 1.30 a.m.Almost absent insulation of the room: not possible to relax and sleep.If you want to sleep before 1.00-1.30 am, before confirming a reservation, ask it there's a music concert.

The property is extremely well located. Peaceful and clean. The pool is beautiful. The breakfast is abondant and so tasty. The staff working the bar and breakfast were so kind and pleasant.

The beds and the room were a little dated.

Loved this hotel, amazing pool, wonderful breakfast, clean comfortable room and perfect location close to restaurants amd beach.
