Fragiskos Hotel

This is a great location only a few minutes walk to the beach and town area and has free parking available. We booked a twin room and were upgraded at no cost to a family room with a double and 2 twin beds. The buffet breakfast is outstanding with an extensive variety and includes freshly cooked fried eggs. The staff were efficient and friendly.

The beds are firm and I found the mattress too hard.

Double room appears to have been recently renovated. Comfy bed, good ceiling fan and great air conditioning. Plentiful breakfast included. Very close to town and the beach. Two pools, we only used once each. Had beach towels available, as well as a kettle and a blow dryer. Really a great value for the location and breakfast included.

Shower only had a glass wall on one side so the sink and bathroom floor got wet during showers. The loungers around the pool were claimed by guests all day. Lots of smoking by guests, especially at the pool and by the entrance to the main building. It is a much larger facility than we were expecting, maybe 80 rooms. Not good or bad, but most of the guests were all inclusive guests.

A spacious room with a comfortable bed. The hotel is a short walk from the amazing Matala beach and caves. It is also minutes from the town, restaurants and the old tree where live music takes place at night. The breakfast was delicious, with a good choice and a nice view over the beach. Staff were friendly. Easy parking.

I wasn't expecting to be across the car park to a building away from the main part of the hotel. However, in fairness, this area had its own pool. There was no view from our balcony. It was difficult to keep the water in the shower due to its layout.

Facilites and the apartment itself did not offer good value for the price paid. It was a last minute find but overall allowed us to be in a prime location at a decent place.

I stayed at this complex for one night, and while the exterior looked promising, the experience inside was far from it. The rooms did not have Wi-Fi, which was quite inconvenient. On top of that, there was a terrible odor coming from the bathroom that really affected the overall stay. I expected more based on the appearance of the place, but unfortunately, the interior didn’t live up to the outside. Would not recommend unless improvements are made.

The location is perfect. The rooms are located in different buildings and the Hotel is like a small Village.

The staff are very unfriendly especially a lady at the morning buffet which was very rude to us and also the other guests. She was not wearing a nametag, and none of the staff was wearing one.We speak Greek and we could understand everything she was saying. She did not even think that due to the Festival there were Greek guests at the Hotel and she was saying inapropriate things. Also the Hotel is quite expensive for the service they are offering.

Hotel Fragiskos preserves memories from the time of the Hippies. There are details from that time everywhere. Our rooms were in the newly built part of the hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. This part of the hotel has a nice pool behind it and a very quiet and relaxing ambiance. The hotel is divided by a rather large dusty parking lot, you have to walk to the main building where the dining room is. In fact, the hotel is right next to the beach and the famous caves above the beach. The stay at the hotel was very pleasant and it is recommended!

Beautifully kept, with attractive gardens and pool. Close to beach. Ample breakfast.

No hairdryer in room.

Reception was friendly.

A cold concrete tourist cell block designed for maximum cost effectiveness. No charm or comfort whatsoever. Lousy breakfast, rude employees with the exception of the reception. Lots of things didn't work in the room. Just a rather low end place that should be avoided.

Pool adjacent to room which had large patio, plenty of sun beds.

Decor a bit weird walked thru wardrobe doors to bathroom! No hairdryer and only small bars of soap.

It has a fantastic location just 100 yards from the beach. It was all very clean and the area around the pool is nice

It's a little characterless for Matala.

Close to Matala centre, Beach and plenty of parking space. Beds comfortable. The pool area was great with plenty of loungers. Staff pleasant and helpful.

No decent Wifi. I stayed here 4 years ago and the Wi-Fi was poor. It is still very poor with a weak signal only available in public areas. This is made worse because there is no 4G signal in the area apart from sections of the Beach due to the surrounding hills, so Wi-Fi is more important. The shower had no curtain and so inevitably wet the rest of the bathroom. The small attractive shrubs of 4 years ago around the ‘new block. have grown into trees and dense foliage obstructing any chance of s view from the ground floor rooms and further deteriorating the poor Wi-Fi

Nice hotel in front of Matala beach, 3 mins walk from the center of town. Rooms basic, clean and comfortable with air con. Breakfast was plentiful. Pleasant staff. Overall good value for menu.

No wifi in bedrooms, which the owners made me aware of before I arrived.
