    Cons -

    • Gym and spa where not operable, management unresponsive, swayed bed, balcony lights glare into room, restaurants don¿t open on time, Unresponsive hotel manager for days. Do NOT go here, this is not a 5 star. Its a 2.5
    • No private beach, spa & gym was closed, not cushion on the metal chair to sit, bed had a sway in the middle, hotel management non-responsive, DO NOT stay here. Restaurant dont open on time, more like a 3 star no way this is a 5 star.

Breakfast was fantastic! Staff was great. The views were phenomenal and the rooms were beautiful. Also got access to the beach club and spa.

We were told the hot tub was cold.We were unaware that there would be 75 steps from the lift to the hotel so if you have limited mobility this would not be the place for you.

    Only the location

Not clean Too much bugs and ants High stairs to reach the restaurant or the reception The smell of the room was very bad

    Worst expericence in a hotel

It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a hotel. When we arrived we were surprised to learn that there was no shower in the room, just a bathtub. During the night, the air conditioning kept turning off. We woke up sweaty. We called reception, but after a while, they no longer answered.

Great location with good views. Very relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff

We had ants in the room and the bathroom flooded when we used the shower. Bar and restaurant service very slow, pool bar not always staffed

The room was very nice. Comfortable bed. Nice view. Nice that they include the beach club with the very high nightly rate.

The location is hard to get to. You have to go up a furnicular and then go up 80 steps. Lots of ants. Service is so so. They take a very long time to bring the bags up or get the car out of the garage. I wish parking was included in the price. Very expensive. The shower was clogged and the sink had issues.

The staff was pleasant, but ineffective. The pool was lovely, but it closed at 7pm.

We booked two rooms- one for me and my husband, and one for our three teenager daughters. When our daughters woke up the first morning, they noticed that there was a long, wide line of ants crawling across the wall. Upon further inspection, two of my daughters had ants IN THEIR BEDS (both live and dead as my daughters rolled over on them and killed some). We let the front desk staff know and their reply was to change the sheets and wipe off the ants on the wall. The next night, the ants were back, crawling all over the beds and back on the wall. We asked for a room change several times, and were told, "We have to check with our boss for availability." The cleaning staff went back into the room and wiped up the ants a second time. The next morning, the ants were back. We then started insisting that they change the room for our daughters as they do not like to sleep in beds with ants. Again, we were met with resistance. We told the front desk staff that we were headed out for the day, and that it should be solved upon our return. When we got back, there was no resolution. We finally had to tell them that our daughter would not sleep in the room. The staff finally said they could move ONE daughter out of the room. When we went to see the new room, it was also a triple room- but they would not let my other two daughters move into the room as well. There was no offer of any apologies or compensation for my daughters sleeping in bed with ants and having them crawl on the wall in their room. They just said, "oh, yes, we have ants because of the gardens surrounding the hotel." I was even charged for a Coke, as it was, "not a part of breakfast." I wish that was on their website, or confirmation, or anything. We spent a lot of money celebrating with my family, and we had to worry about ants in our bed and room. I will not recommend this hotel in the future.

The hotel is high located and only to reach by a funiculare and some stair cases. It's a very nice boutique hotel with great staff and beautifull view over the Amalfi coast. Breakfast and service was great. The pool is small but nice. As mentioned it's a small boutique hotel and your expectations should be accordingly.

If you are by car /GPS it's hard to find. Just by accident we found the entrance. Some information to the guests how to reach would be helpfull. If your mobility is less (bad knees etc) than is not the best place. You need to walk quite some steps.

We loved the view and our room was just beautiful, complete with its own balcony. The surrounding area was beautiful and the view panoramic. We loved the location of the property, easy for beach access and visiting the beautiful Maiori.

    We loved everything!

It is a beautiful place with amazing gardens and even more amazing views. The staff is attending and caring. Overaly it was a great pleasure to be there and I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

It was a bit difficult to find the hotel lift, we overlooked the sign on the main street and kept cruising around. It would be useful if the hotel enclosed a snap-shot of a map to the welcoming email.

Everything about this hotel is amazing! We were so blown away during our stay! The hotel sits far above the other buildings on the cliff and the views are unbelievable! The service was great and I really felt taken care of during our trip. It’s definitely a 5 star hotel in every way! And breakfast was amazing!

There are two restaurants on the property. One is very high end and the other has pizza and pasta. The food was great, but the menu was limited.

The view is breathtakingThe food and staff at the restaurant were very good

    - Room floor was barely cleaned, sofa covered with white stains, dirty floor on the WC - Despite travelling with a 3 year old and a baby, they charged additional 100€ per night tough no extra bed was required nor setup as the kid sleeps with us and the baby on the cot. They did informed of that and I accepted, though it was uncourteous for a supposedly 5* hotel, and it was the first time in more than 10 stays this year that a place actually suggested such.- Requested towels to use the pool, was brought WC towels.- Front dest tricked us to travel with a non identified person to Salerno, alleging that taxis were not available, charging double than what costed us to get there from Salerno, forcing us to pay in cash from the ATM, and no invoice.- Front desk refused to give us an invoice from the stay, alleging that booking was responsible for the invoice. Complaining to booking and to them has no effect.I do not recommend this place, mostly because we felt front desk tried to deceive and trick us multiple times. This is the first time I ever wrote a negative review in booking after travelling the world from hostels to 5* hotels all around for work and leisure, with and without kids.

    Stunning location. Unique hotel

A lot of facilities not open- jacuzzi, restaurants. Food was average

    5BahadirPosted on: 10-13-2023

    The location was extraordinary.

The staff needs urgently to remember smiling. The SPA is very small that can fit only 2 persons at once and covered with spider webs. The breakfast was very poor and not open buffet. As only 1 staff serves during breakfast, you need to wait 30-45 minutes.

    9AnnabelPosted on: 10-10-2023

Fabulous location with amazing views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the inclusion of the beach club.

The mattress felt old (we could feel the inner springs).

    8KertonPosted on: 9-23-2023

The hotel location is fantastic, The view from the infinity edge pool is wonderful, The hotel is older but well maintained. The breakfast selection was great and included the choice of some hot options

The funicular railway to get from the parking lot to the hotel was inoperable (mentioned in other reviews) for the whole of our stay. You then have to climb almost 300 steps to get to the reception area. They will bring up your cases but it would be an issue if you have any mobility issues. They do not even offer a drink or credit for the inconvenience.

Property is beautiful - the pool and all the gardens / different sitting areas are lovely. I don’t think you can find a better view anywhere else, including Positano. very fun taking the cable car up to the hotel. Our room had a large patio off of it which had an incredible view of Amalfi. Maiori is a beautiful town and while there are still great restaurants and lovely beaches, it’s much quieter / less touristy than Positano which was great. Nice to have the boardwalk along the water as well and the town is relatively flat compared to other areas of Amalfi. The staff (particularly Diego who works the downstairs reception) was absolutely lovely. Would definitely stay again if they rectify certain issues (I.e. the ant situation / cleanliness and the gym).

They really need to get better signage - the driveway into the hotel is actually another hotel (Pietra di Luna) which makes things super confusing especially since HBL has no signs. Cleanliness could be improved, as there were ants present on our floor. Additionally, I was excited to workout in the outdoor gym but none of the cardio equipment works / it’s in complete disrepair and the weights were so old and basically useless. we had to leave really early at 5am to drive back to Rome to catch our flight and the staff could have made things run smoother for us - the cable car had broken down (obviously not their fault) but it was pretty dark walking down all those stairs at 5am and then on top of that, confusion / miscommunication on where our car keys were (despite confirming where they would be left the night before).
