- This hotel was very special. It was like going bacon time with all the beautiful antiques. The high ceilings and balconies were nice. Super cool and unique place, the pictures are true to what it looks like. It is also in a great location.
- The building is very old , it transports you to to centuries back! I liked it very much ! Anniello is an excellent host, it prepares you delicious breakfast fresh every morning, both savory and sweet, also he played piano for us and helped us carry the suitcases.
- I generally never add reviews but this property deserved it!! It was worth the money, it very cosy and transports you to a different zone.. beware the hotel is on 2nd floor and there is no lift… location wise it’s very well located! I’d suggest staying here instead of sorrento if you wish to visit Ravello, Amalfi etc as it is very close.. only positano is slightly far .. the person at the hostel (not sure if he is the owner) is very sweet, will play the piano in the morning while we have breakfast… only that he is not very fluent in English but that didn’t really cause an issue .. I booked the hotel at the last minute after reading someone’s review and it was worth it.. also note the rooms are naturally cooler compared to the temperature outside but they have decent blankets ! Also there’s a pizza place >5min away, called Almars (something on that lines) they have such amazing pizzas!!! You need not go anywhere else.. I had the buffala margarita both nights ..
Cons -
- The front door to the building was a bit decrepit looking. It is not do justice for how beautiful this hotel was once we got up there.
- At night I could hear some noise in the pipes obviously be cause being an old building but it would stop me from returning since I solved the issue with ear plugs!
- Nothing really..

Very nice & luxuriously decorated historical Casa of a family of lemon plantation owners. Auhentic 19th century spirit. Breakfast on the balcony with sea view, of in the salone next to the old grand piano. Anielo is the very friendly housekeeper who will tell you which restaurants to visit and which Italian music to listen. Parking facilities at hotel Miramar, around the corner.
Anello, the host, was simply wonderful. His concern for our needs was so nice. It was a bit of a walk and stair climb with luggage. But, not impossible.
loved the breakfast, the room and balcony where you could serve it. also the balcony from our room was nice. beautifull old palazzo in the center of the city. old gorgeous furniture
check in was chaotic. the room was not ready at 17.00 so we had to leave the baggage at the reception and go in town to spend some time
The property is nice, although dated that’s exactly why we booked it - we wanted something old and authentic. The location is also great, right next to the main streets with shops and cafes.
What we didnt like is being shouted at by the night porter, who was asleep when we arrived and couldnt get into the property for almost an hour. He was so rude and spoke no english, which made it very difficult to communicate. Also communication with this property was horrible as we kept updating them about our arrival time etc since our flight was severely delayed and we were assured we can check in even at night. Upon arrival we tried contacting all the numbers since no one was at the reception desk. Once we managed to reach someone and said that there is no night porter around we were told “well that cant be. He should be there”. After an hour he finally woke up and check us in. When we were checking out ( again there was no one at the reception and we had to hurry to catch a bus), the night porter chased us down the stairs to say we didnt pay the city tax, so I went back with him to pay. I said we need to hurry up as we cant miss our bus and he got very aggy and started cursing me in Italian and threw the receipt on the desk. I was shocked - I have never had such experience with hospitality staff before. Even though I raised a complaint with booking the property refused to take any accountability or offer a refund. Disgusting.
Breakfast was good room was fine
room could be a little larger and a couple of extra pillows
The huge and historical roomGreat stuff Aniello! 10 of 10 for the stuff! But he was the only one there. He brought our luggage, cooking breakfast, meeting the guests and more and more
No upgrade of the room and the property at all. Old pipes in WC it’s was buzzing as in a horrow movie. No soundproof at all, I had to sleep in headphones all the nights. Actually everything is holding on one hospitable hotel clerk. It seems there is no investment in this property but it is obviously needed! More stuff! Fresh renovation with saving the history!
its near the beach. Maori centrum. price comes with nice breakfast.
The Casa is in the second floor, so i its a little difficult for thr older folks to get there with that long flight of stairs. No elavator.
One of the most Beautiful stay, the hotel is charming full beautiful details you get lost in every object. The personnel is so kind and welcoming, the room stunning, i had a single room a bit small yet so beautiful the location is perfect i would come back :)
We loved the feel of the historic building and rooms and the antique furnishings. The host was wonderful and very attentive. He even played us piano, lent us his umbrella and offered to make special breakfast.
Aniello is a great host. The casa is more than 300 years old and we appreciated staying in it. Very beautiful and historic. We woke up to the sound of the piano playing, wonderful. Breakfast on the balcony was great!!
The place had a lot of history and was great location wise. The staff was nice and helped us out when we had problems. The bathroom was pretty
Had bed bugs in our bed. The ceiling painting was peeling but the furniture was pretty cool. We complained and they offered us a stay in a nicer hotel at no additional cost. We learned to check beds for bedbugs in every stay after that!
Loved the brocante at style. Great! And very helpful manager. You have to like style for days gone bye
Here and there leakage signs
Adding to the issues was the fact that the money we had already paid for our stay was never refunded.
The worst experience in all our travels. Hotel staff's mostly dont speak english. The walls were in need of repair, and the ceiling in our room had a noticeable sag, creating an impression of neglect. However, the most significant disappointment awaited us in the bed. When we lay down to sleep, we discovered BEDBUGS in our bed! We were forced to relocate to another hotel in the middle of the night to ensure at least a few hours of sleep.
We were advised on arrival at Hotel MiraMare parking that the Casa Raffaele was closed for repairs, but were offered an apartment which suited us perfectly.
Breakfast selection could be a bit wider, perhaps fresh fruit and more types of yoghurt.
The idea of staying in a homely atmosphere of a very traditional Italian hotel was very appealing; unfortunately the reality of the stay was a bit different. We only stayed the first night of our visit and then moved to alternative accommodation. This was found for us by the very helpful and considerate duty manager and we greatly appreciated his help in organising this for us.
I feel it really important to point out that first of all, to reach the actual hotel you have to climb up four very steep and high flights of stairs. This was difficult and exhausting carrying suitcases and there is no lift. You would expect a lift in a supposed 4 star hotel. The actual ground level entrance was grim, dark and dirty. The main reason that we didn't stay longer than one night was that our bathroom did not have a really have a functional shower; there was only tepid water; and there was no WiFi in the room as was advertised.
Nothing. We initially booked this place for its charming old vintage decor and interior. But the photos online don’t show the actual reality.
The house is basically falling apart. There’s no maintenance, this was confirmed to us by one of the staff members. The room that we had was old and musty. It had dust everywhere, especially under the bed (see photo’s). It’s like they hadn’t cleaned under the bed for months. Moreover, the bed was not comfortable to sleep in. We also read reviews that the beds have BEDBUGS! Also the staff wasn’t welcoming at all - we felt not welcome here. the breakfast is mid. We even had a yogurt that was expired (see photo). Overall, we didn’t feel comfortable staying there so we left after one night feeling distressed and disgusted.
Aniello is without question, a phenomenal superior host and exceeds any and all guest expectations. In our opinion there isn't a more polished, attentive Hotel representative in the world. He is without question, hands down, the absolute best in the HOSPITALITY HOTEL business!
Everything was perfect.
