Itaka Hotel

We stayed one night at Hotel Itaka in Lukova and had a very positive experience. Our room was on the fourth floor with a fantastic sea view — perfect for enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and the sunset. The hotel also had a pool with sunbeds, ideal for relaxing.The staff was very polite and communication was excellent. The room was clean and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.The breakfast was generous and fresh, with quality products. A very nice gesture from the owner was a handmade soap from Lukova that he gifted us before we left — a thoughtful detail we truly appreciated.A peaceful place with warm hospitality and attention to detail. Highly recommended!

Bed was little noisy

We were welcomed in the most respectful and hospitable way. The owner has been so kind and helpful. We were always greeted as appreciated acquaintances, and were immediately helped when we needed something. The room was clean, the cleaning personnel deserves an award. The food in the restaurant was excellent and not pricey; breakfast in the morning was exactly what we needed: proteins, vitamins, and meat. Local food specialties were excellent. The location was quiet with an occasional cricket and dog. We could sleep with our windows open. The room had three closures on the balcony: shutters, windows and fly screen, that was awesome! Air conditioning was perfect. The rules were very simple: treat the hotel with the same respect as your home. We felt like proper kings. Thank you very much for this beautiful, quaint, lovely stay.

Very nice view from the balcony.The pool is a great option if you are not in the mood to walk or drive to the beach, clean water, great temparature, pool chairs in shade and on the sun. A lot of private parking spaces around the hotel. Breakfast was good and we also tried dinner here which was also very good. Staff is very friendly.

Spectacular view, nice pool and good dinner. Rooms were big enough. Staff was nice. We didn‘t mind room Service twice a week.

Breakfast could be improved. Compared to other Hotels with the same amendments rather expensive.

Even if your booking reservation states that a pre-payment of your stay will be performed before arrival, be prepared to pay in cash at check in.

Very clean and well organized. Location and setting was great with superb views. Nice food at the restaurant.

At first we found the owner a bit strict with his rules but after we realized it was for the benefit of the hotel and it’s guests to make it a very peaceful place to stay.

The view is beautiful.

The beds are really uncomfortable and very short (beware if you’re tall because your feet will hit the bottom of it). The entirety of the room seemed to have been cleaned in a hurry (stains on the toilet seat, the walls, inside the cupboards, on the towels. The wifi speed was awful.There was a sewer smell coming through every day. There’s a tiny piece of glass separating the shower area from the toilet making it pretty much a wet bathroom at all time. Our shower head was also broken spraying even more water everywhere. They give you no toothpaste or any other toiletries except for a tiny tube of shower gel.The breakfast consists of hard boiled eggs and a piece of feta that tastes old and is barely eatable and a bland peace of industrial bread ( a shame when the bread in Albanian restaurants is usually fresh and excellent) with butter and jam packets. It is served to you with a glass of what seems like a diluted orange soda.The owner and his staff were unwelcoming, had us pay for the room in cash upfront. The atmosphere was strange, like nobody really wanted to be there and they made sure you knew. There’s an oddly long list of rules for using the pool, for example you can’t bring any food or drinks anywhere near the terrace, my friend got scolded for bringing a chocolate croissant to his girlfriend. The drinks menu is limited, none of the cocktails were available and everything was quite expensive.We wanted to try the restaurant and there was a power outage so I walked upfront, greeted the staff member and asked if we could eat, the waitress replied by shushing me and saying « yes but lower your voice because this is a restaurant ». I’ve been working in the service industry as a flight attendant for 5 years and although I don’t believe « the customer is always right » I found that response totally inappropriate and gratuitous. We immediately turned back and went to another place outside the hotel.

The personnel is very attentive and respectfull. Thé place is very calm and the swimmingpool is great. I recommand Thais place to relax and to visit thé spots around

Breakfast choices could be improved

Itaka is a welcoming, family-run accommodation, surrounded by nature in a very peaceful location. We spent 5 nights here and felt good. It's well-located for exploring the beaches of the Albanian Riviera, both south and north of the accommodation. It has private parking.When we arrived, the rooms were clean, but cleaning is only done every 3 days. The room has the necessary amenities, without luxuries, including AC and a mini-fridge. The only unpleasant detail was our bed, which was very noisy, waking us up every time we turned over during the night. But the bed in the other room we reserved (we are 5) did not have the same problem.The pool is nice, gets sun all day, and offers a beautiful sunset view. My children had a lot of fun there. The breakfast included in the price is served in a pleasant spot by the pool. It's reasonable and satisfying but could be a bit more varied. It includes tomatoes, cucumbers, 1 egg, 1 slice pf white cheese, 2 slices of bread, 2 fried pastries, 3 mini spreads (butter, strawberry jam, and honey), 1 glass of juice, and 1 cup of light coffee.The owner is friendly and welcomed us warmly. We had a small conversation, and I understood that Itaka is very important to him. He built this hotel and restaurant gradually and with sacrifice. That’s why he is very meticulous with things and has well-defined rules that he insists on being followed. We were always well treated by him and have no complaints.Some tips for guests:The room windows have mosquito nets, but I recommend using repellent when walking outside in the summer evening.The hotel is also a restaurant with satisfactory food. We dined there only once and decided to explore other restaurant in Lukovë on the other days, with a special mention to Pizzeria Riviera!

I would prefer the rooms to be cleaned more frequently, but the hotel policy is to do it every 3 days, which was communicated to us at check-in. Although the breakfast is satisfactory, should be more varied. After 5 days, we were a bit tired of it. There should be umbrellas over the loungers by the pool. Please check the bed frame in room 7.The positive aspects are the majority, so we would stay here again. The hotel offers good value for the money.

The place was very quite and nice. The rooms where simpel but good. The host was very friendly and you could always ask him if you needed something.

Sometimes the host closes the door from the pool and terras in the daytime (15-20 minutes only), but its because hes running the place and he needs to have a small pause to rest also.

Really liked pool zone. Also the room was well equipped and clean. Bed was comfortable. The owner wqs really nice person.

In shower space should be some shelf or something so you do not need to put shower gel and ect. on the floor

The view

I recently stayed at Itaka Hotel in Lukove and, unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was unwelcoming. The owner and staff seemed perpetually unhappy, never offering a smile, a greeting, or even a simple "hello." This lack of basic hospitality made me feel uncomfortable throughout my stay.Mornings were no better, as the staff barely managed a "good morning" and showed no interest in ensuring that guests were comfortable or satisfied. The breakfast provided was extremely basic, lacking variety and quality. It felt like an afterthought rather than a thoughtful part of the guest experience.Overall, I did not feel welcomed at Itaka Hotel. The cold, indifferent attitude of the owner and staff, combined with the subpar amenities, left me regretting my choice to stay there. I can not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at Itaka hotel. There is something special about a family owned hotel and the care and pride that goes into running it. The facilities were well taken care of, the staff were friendly and welcoming, breakfasts were delicious and the pool was lovely. Our room, while simple in decor, had a hairdryer and fridge, but was set it apart was the balcony and the beautiful sunsets. It was convenient (and delicious) to have a restaurant serving dinner on site. We’d happily return.

We were pleased with our stay

The location is amazing with beautiful views and a great swimming pool.The ability to eat at the location is great.Parking is easy at the location and the host is kind.

To Albanian standards the bathroom is small and the shower is located within the same space as the toilet without a screen. This causes that the bathroom is completely wet after showering.
