Horse & Jockey Hotel

Staff very friendly. Bedrooms had been renovated lately to a high standard & had everything we needed. Safety bars installed in the shower. Hotel very near the highway exit which is convenient.

Clean and fresh looking. Nice decor

Seemed a long distance from tourist spots (Rock of Cashel in particular)

Professional, friendly staff with eagerness to serve.

Very handy with the bar and restaurant on site. Close to my family.

I have stayed here several times now and the brown bread is always dry and somewhat hard so much so that I brought my own this time - The coffee is okay but could be a better quality. It would be lovely if there was a Nespresso machine availableI was so sorry not to have a chance to visit the gift shop - it would be great if it opened early say 8.30 a.m. on at least one morning or stayed open later i.e. 7 p.m. on at least one or two evenings I would be so delighted if there were electric car charging facilities available

Room was very spacious and clean. Water pressure was AMAZING, I could have stayed in that shower for ages!Lovely hand soap and shower gel (that did need refilling though) in the bathroom.Lovely bar and restaurant area, I was travelling alone for work, and they found me a quiet spot to eat. Food was fresh, tasty and good value for a hotel like this.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, but I do like a firm mattress so that is probably on me.I could only get BBC1 and BBC 2 on the TV.

Rooms spotless and comfortable. Food excellent. Morning newspaper would be nice to offer guests.

We initially had booked for one night and loved it that much we stayed fo a 2nd night. room we had was very spacious. food was fab, plenty of it. We ate in the bar on the first night and had lunch in the bar the next afternoon.we made great use of the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi etc.Plenty of parking at this hotel. Two lovely shops within the hotel.We would highly recommend it.

Perfectly situated right in between Thurles and Cashel, a perfect spot to use as a base for visiting other areas. We absolutely loved it - especially since my mom and girlfriend both love horses! lol Dad and I enjoyed the food the most! spectacular service and scrumptious food!! all made from scratch and perfectly done too!!! amenities were great and staff was very very helpful! I'd be back in a gallop ! lol

Beautiful hotel, lovely spacious rooms and decor. Great food and nice gym.

No AC in room. Was very warm. On ground floor didn’t like to leave windows open so found it very hard to sleep. A plug in fan would have been great

Breakfast was re heated and limited options. No menu and no staff at Breakfast check in.

Have stayed here a lot of times when working in Ireland, the staff, facilities, rooms, restaurants,and location of hotel are all excellent and I will continue to stay at the hotel when working in Ireland

Lovely room & very good dinner & breakfast Staff as always are great, overall a great family run hotel but a definite 4 star experience

The Food is seriously fabulous. I live in Cork and there is no restaurant as good. The staff are so friendly, efficient, kind and reminded me of old Ireland . The newly refurbished rooms are so tasteful and homely. I’ve been here a few times before for the great food,but I’ll definitely return for the welcoming and homely atmosphere of this special hotel.

Public areas were comfortable, warm and mostly clean. Bedroom was spacious, clean, warm and quiet. The Elemis products in the bathroom are a nice touch. The corridors were very clean and had a wonderful smell, spotless carpets etc. Really well decorated throughout. The pool etc is a great area and we enjoyed using it. The food and drink was excellent!! Could not fault anything in the restaurant or bar. Staff very attentive and friendly.

Public areas weren’t cleaned quickly, tables could sit with dirty glasses etc on them for hours and cushions on the settees were left untidy after guests had vacated the area. It gave a really poor impression of the hotel as the staff were actually very friendly and attentive but I felt there was a lack of management on the floor.

Breakfast was lukewarm when I said it to the server I was asked did I want it heated in the microwave I said I would like it replaced with freshly cooked and when the server returned with a new breakfast it was warm to touch but cool inside such a letdown

My room it was in need of an up grade plain walls ,bed to small fir a double,tge window fream had a gap of about 6 inches the breeze was bad the 1 night had to put towle beside it to stop the noise,the hotel had a staffing problem not enough waiting 1/2an hour befor even been asked what drinks we needed as 3 staff talked to each other.
