    Pros +

    • We arrived wet and dirty but the owner could not do enough to help us to our room, which was absolutely welcoming. The hotel was great and the decor matched completely. The view from our room was beautiful, the Castle to the left and the Mosel in front.
    • The room was so cute and views of mosel are great bed is so comfy and the bar and lounge area make it perfect
    • Beautiful historic inn; helpful staff

    Cons -

    • Stairs are super creaky not a complaint only thing I can think of that I didn’t like but I have to give it slack since the building was made in the 1800s haha
    • It was a bit of a walk to the town center.
    • We had our bedroom window open and unfortunately there was outside sitting area and when we were sleeping people talking was very loud in our room and they were smoking (as nonsmokers) the smell is awful and it filled our room.

It was a bit of a walk to the town center.

Gorgeous hotel with beautiful views of the river! The staff was helpful but unobtrusive, the breakfast was delightful, and our entire group wished we could stay longer than one night. We hope to return! It’s also right next door to an adorable wine garden that we very much enjoyed.

Beautiful property with amazing views. Junior suite had a lot of space and a nice sitting room. Quick walk to town.

We had our bedroom window open and unfortunately there was outside sitting area and when we were sleeping people talking was very loud in our room and they were smoking (as nonsmokers) the smell is awful and it filled our room.

We loved everything about the property! The building, staff, and atmosphere were lovely, warm, and inviting. Great lounge and porch to meet other guests. Honor system to help yourself to wine, liquors, water, snacks, etc. Location, views, cleanliness excellent! Very nice breakfast offered for additional charge.

The only thing I personally didn’t care for was the bedding. I understand why they choose a down alternative and I’m not sure what the fabric is but I like down and cotton. There is no lift which I understand is not possible but travelers should know and be prepared for.

Amazing property located well within walking distance to town. Gorgeous views, beautiful rooms, and comfortable areas within the hotel to enjoy a glass of wine with friends. Highly recommend!

The only thing to note is the front door is locked ‘after hours’ - you can unlock with your hotel room key, but we weren’t notified upon check in. Other than that, wonderful experience!!

This charming small hotel truly impressed us with its exceptional qualities, especially the breathtaking views of the Mosel River and the majestic Reichsburg Cochem castle. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly polite and genuinely helpful, making us feel welcome and ensuring a smooth check-in. Their local recommendations for exploring Cochem and the surrounding area were also much appreciated!

    All was great.

The serene setting across from the Moselle River. Our room was spacious & we had a beautiful view - in one direction, Cochem Castle & also towards the Moselle River & vineyards. This is an older hotel, without an elevator, but we were very pleased to have a room on the ground floor. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast buffet was always good. Another plus was the Wine Garden next door.

Superb B&B, old mansion renovated high end. Great view of the Moselle river, easy walking to restaurants. Staff very pleasant & helpful. Highly recommend.

    Stay longer ?

The hotel is really well located just outside of touristic Cochem — close enough to walk there easily. The hotel has a lot of charm and has a great breakfast and a really nice honorbar. The views from the hotel are gorgeous!

My only complaint was that there was a lot of noise from the hallway and other rooms. The hotel allows children and pets, which I love. But it sounded like a daycare center/kindergarten at times. If you want a more serene stay, this may not be the ideal spot. But I loved the hotel. They even installed more sound-proof doors inside the original wooden doors to help with this issue.

Great location, friendly stuff, great architecture.

Beautiful stay! We were fortunate to get the room with the balcony, but even if we hadn’t we’d have been happy as the rooms are lovely and comfortable. Nice location just on the edge of town, with a good walk in to get dinner. The staff are very nice and helpful. Definitely recommend to stay here.

    Nothing!

We have had an impeccable stay at Hotel Villa Vie Cochem. The hotel is inside a beautiful building only 10 mins walking from the center of Cochem through their promenade. The room was super clean and the staff was very friendly. They accommodated our baby’s needs and really made us feel at home.
