Pros +
- Breakfast was great!
- Breakfast was good and nicely served at the table (not a typical buffet).Supper was very good.
- The personnel were really nice. Room was clean and had a beautiful view. Shower had warm water and a private changing area. Breakfast was good including the plate of breakfast meats and cheese. Location is easy to reach with public transportation and conveniently close to the base of the gondola. Great to have such a nice option that is affordable even in the middle of ski season!
Cons -
- You really should be careful about the late check-in fee. I did not read my messages all the way after seeing my request was approved but unfortunately, I realized even 9pm counts as late fee and they charge 30 CHF which is really expensive. I would not recommend the place if you are not using nearby sports facilities.
- The option of even a boiled egg at breakfast was not available and that would have really been a plus.
- Being at the base of the gondola means having the possibility of having to wait in a long line for the gondola on busy ski weekends to get up to Melchsee Frutt.

We had an amazing stay! Diana and Monica were both incredibly friendly and helpful. Monica’s extensive knowledge of the surrounding area led us to some great adventures, and Diana was a conscientious and attentive waitress. Their hospitality truly enhanced our experience. Thank you!
Breakfast was not good and also location was not good
Restaurant was closed 7pm every day. We reached 8pm so there was no any food and no a any nearby shop. They did not provide any bath gel also. Due to wooden construction too much disturbance from roof also there was bells on cows neck. That bell voice was very loud
Amazing view ? ? ? Near cabin to mountains, clean, cute old style decorated.
The restaurant was very nice, and the staff were friendly upon arrival. Breakfast was ok as well. The location is beautiful, great scenery all around the hotel, and we were there on a beautiful day!
No drinking water in the hotel. Apparently the water was contaminated, and as such was not clean for drinking. We were given a 1.5L bottle for the stay. Then when pressed on the day after, begrudgingly another big bottle. However we were there on a hiking trip, and were expecting to fill up some bottles for the day... Also, you could hear the TV from the next room, so bring ear plugs. The bed was old, and passable after a long day hiking, but otherwise not great...
This is simply an extraordinary location in the Alps! I spent 3 weeks touring on my motorcycle, and this was by far my highlight. This is a honest as you can get as a proper Swiss stay in the Alps. The bar, restaurant was just honest and original, fantastically good cold beers, and amazing food in large portions served piping hot.The rooms were authentically alpine acommodation, super comfortable and clean.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with enough to make a couple of extra sandwiches for lunch.
Soundproofing, however due to the type and age of the building, this should be expected. We stayed during a quiet time so it was acceptable, but it may be too loud during the busy winter season.
Wonderful location, incredible value - exceptional restaurant and staff, a dream holiday in a charming guesthouse in what is as beautiful an area as anywhere in Switzerland.
Clean rooms and share bathroom. The house is very cosy. The staff is friendly. The bed is comfortable.
Not enough vegetarian options on the menu.
Disappointing
Very old building, the wifi was struggling, the breakfast was very poor, the restaurant for dinner closed at 7pm, the walls are so thin you can hear people’s conversations in neighbouring rooms. Typical example of an owner who does not invest but only tries to maximize the profit. Way too expensive.
The location and views from the room are incredible, the stuff was very nice.Even though the bathrooms are shared, they are super clean and nice. The breakfast didn’t have too many options to choose from, but it was extremely delicious!
The only problem was the issue with the water from the tap that couldn’t be used for drinking/cooking/teeth brushing etc. However, it was handled well by the hotel staff that provided us bottles of clean water for free for all of our needs.
The location is unbeatable - the view from the window on the pastures and mountains was amazing. Interior, in old chalet style was great as well, just as the flexibility of people as to times you could come back at night or use shower. The remote location and included parking right in front are really nice too.
Not really a complaint, given that it is determined by the the architecture of the chalet when it was build decades and decades ago, but restroom and toilets one flower below, with lights that you need to manually turn on and off are a bit hard to negotiate at night.
Fantastic view, nice host, comfy rooms
Breakfast could be better, no soap at the shared shower
The location is ideal, and the staff is very friendly.
It is a simple hotel with clean communal bathrooms and showers. If you stay a long time, as we did, you start to miss vegetables and fruits - the menu is quite meaty.
Beautiful location, simple, clean accommodation, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast, friendly staff.
The place is close to the cable car starting point. This building is the last building of the mountain range I guess. Staffs were good and friendly. Toilets were clean and perfectly maintained.
I was there in summer. In winter, the huge parking space in front of the hotel is supposed to be full. Now, there were not many people, so all was easy going. You can take beautiful hikes starting from the hotel, or take to lift just in front. Nice hotel with a lot of wood and Swiss mountain character. Very nice staff. For Swiss, reasonably priced.
all was fine
Beautiful views around the Hotel, very relaxing environment.
The wooden floor of hotel was making a lot of noise on the last floor especially when you are going to bathroom before bed time and that can bother your neighbors.
