    • This is a perfect spot to do a road trip by Alsalce. We did 12 towns in 4 days. This is very convinient if you have a car. Parking is included. The hotel is very cozy, clean, includes coffe, small fridge and water every day. A great choice outside congestion of Strasbourg or Colmar but you can reach it at 50 minutes drive.

    Cons -

    • Access to the room involved climbing 51 steps. And all in an open courtyard exposed to the freezing cold of zero degrees...
    • The reception staff was unfriendly and unpleasant. Because we stayed on christmas’s eve, she repeatedly told us that she wants to go back home early and she couldn’t help us in the later evening. She showed little hospitality and didn’t seem customer-oriented.
    • There is nothing negative to say about this place. Just a heads up careful with stairs for very mature adults.

The hotel is perfectly located on the French wine route, in a beautifull quiet small town. The hotel building is charming. Room was ok in size and facilities,. Bed is also very comfortable.

The only down side is that we felt the room was not very clean (especially the toilet and the room carpet).

Beautiful old abbey conversion. In a charming old town. Ease of parking was very appreciated.

    9GinaPosted on: 8-29-2025

Staff was very kind and helpful.Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice.

Appointments in the room could be better, i.e. power outlets by the bed, better lighting, full-length mirror.

Charming atmosphere, wonderful location, delicious breakfast, amazing views all around, welcoming atmosphere! It was truly beautiful. Our breakfast table had our family’s name on it in the morning, which we loved as well!

The beds were a little stiff.

Amazing beautiful ancient building, in a quiet small and pretty village. Spacious room with balcony, clean and comfortable.

    1. We asked to not have to climb many stairs, because of our physical limitations (age). The room we got was defined as ground floor on messages but was actually 2 floors up. 2. There is a kettle for making coffee however they supply only 2 small sachets of instant coffee, and only disposable paper cups. Not fun to drink from, and if you have coffee at night, you have none for the morning.

The property oozes charm. It’s delightful, historic and extremely well maintained. Breakfast is available for an additional nominal cost and there are plenty of fresh & healthy choices. The location in Kientzheim is perfect for exploring Alsace. I would most definitely suggest staying in this village versus, say, Colmar. There’s also complimentary parking at the rear of the hotel. That’s a big advantage. Our suite was large and well appointed.

Depending on the location of your room, there could be quite a few sets of stairs to navigate. If that’s an issue, suggest making that known at the time of booking. There are certainly rooms available which don’t require stairs. Just flagging this to avoid any unpleasant surprise on arrival.

The property was beautiful in a lovely village situated close to Colmar and Strasbourg, and right in the middle of the gorgeous little villages in the middle of the vineyards.

Best location, beautiful architecture, cosy rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast.

Beautiful old abbey. The room is rather small & simple but comfortable enough.

    10LorenePosted on: 12-12-2024

Such lovely touches that made it nice. Mulled wine and cookies in the lounge. History of hotel and village

There are not many places to eat in the little town, so make sure you get the lovely breakfast

    10JanePosted on: 12-5-2024

Beautiful old abbey in a stunning village, sensitively decorated with all modern conveniences. Clean and warm, welcoming staff although we didn’t see them very often. Buffet breakfast was excellent.

    9AndersPosted on: 9-29-2024

Breakfast was good, basic and nutritious. The location of the hotel was excellent. Easy to access different wineries by car.

    7DerickPosted on: 9-28-2024

The location of the hotel, car parking, modern shower & comfortable bed.

The internet connection was random , only accessed once during our stay.Basic tea & coffee making facility & paper cups.

Central location , beautiful building , good parking

Be cautious if you have mobility issues if in the top rooms up the turret staircase - no lift . Book local restaurant before your stay or be disappointed!

    10OlgaPosted on: 9-26-2024

Beautiful old house in a beautiful old village. Welcoming staff. We travelled on bycicles and we enjoyed very much staying in a historic place equipped with modern comforts (aircon).

    Nothing!

    10JensPosted on: 9-26-2024

Great location in a quiet town surrounded by vineyards. The hotel is a very old abby tastefully modernized to high standards with ample private parking.

    3HarrietPosted on: 9-2-2024

    Great location

Poor value, hot room , poorly appointed, eg paper cup for tea in the room, horrible hand/hair gel. Breakfast terrible, only white buns left when we came at 9.30, no other bread , not even baguette. Tinned fruit salad. Looked like breakfast from 1990’s. Maps for walking only in French. I could go on but I won’t. Terrible value for money .
