Hotel Alkionis

Ok well I booked this place on our ferry ride from Kefalonia to the mainland It looked amazing and the reviews were great ! When we arrived the receptionist needed to call to confirm our booking which is ok as it was only 3pm when we booked but it was after 5 we arrived. She then explained to her Theia that she had foreigners here and asked on the phone and asked if we were staying one or two nights, we had booked for two . My husband is greek and completely understood in her conversation. The room was spacious one of the reasons we selected this hotel due to the proximity to olympia and our next destination....... 30 mins after arriving the pool was not functional the main reason of selection this hotel we asked if we could change our book from two to one! She said yes that's ok. When we checked out that's when it became a different story, thietere they were charging us 260 euros for 2 night to 200 for night night ,saying this is the @booking.com charge WHAT A Disappointment !!!!!! As said before the room was great for what we booked but to charge is more than the cancellation fee not good !! We stayed a few towns across and had an incredible time with Amazing host chalk and cheese !

Room was dated, uncomfortable mattresses, terrible Internet, mediocre breakfast, bad service at bar….

Clean room, nice swimming pool and garden. Welcoming reception. Short drive to nearest small town Zacharo. 40 min drive to Ancient Olympia.

Spacious rooms and that they upgraded us and changed our rooms. The shower and varanda were okay.

When we came to the hotel the employees or owners were smoking inside the lobby. The rooms were not clean and had hair and dust everywhere. The bathrooms had the shower handles and the shelves falling off the wall, hanging by just a tiny screw and we didn’t dare to place anything on them. The internet was not good. It needs a whole upgrade essentially. Also the breakfast was definitely not the best one.

Clean, great location, convenient double storey room catering for families and excellent staff service. The pool was also very refreshing to use for us and our family guests. My elderly mother -in law really enjoyed the tranquil location, the local hospitality from staff and the observing the local animals in the adjoining property (horses).

A minor recommendation is for each room to maybe have a coffee machine or kettle, for guests to make their own.

Smoking inside the property from staff and guests, not attentive staff, lack of maintenance

The location is good. Parking available. Very spacious rooms

Cigar smell in the rooms. Dirty bedding sheets. Very poor and bad breakfast. The hair dryer did not work. In the room fridge we found food from the previous guest.

Well to start the room was amazing 100% beautiful and the people where so kind and so helpful, the pool was amazing i could stay there the whole day, the tv was old fashion and worked so perfectly it was such a lovly place not to far away from a shop and gas stasion but not to close you can here the cars it was the best the bathroom was so pretty the shower everything was amazing lovely would 100% recommend

I can't realy think of anything really ? well the glass at the upstairs balcony was smashed and you were realy close to your neighbours but every thing else was great

Very clean, spacious rooms, a pool was a welcome sight after a day on the road. A gracious host made us feel very welcomed.

The breakfast buffet was underwhelming.

The owner is very generous, friendly and helpful. We got a free upgrade to superior level. Excellent rooms at any level. On the edge of season only a few guests which made the place very peaceful and filled with bird voices ? Countryside location 2 km from the center of Zaharo.We left with a bag full of oranges and a bottle of home made olive oil!

The breakfast was a little to basic, compensated by the view over the fields next to the hotel☺️

1km from a really nice beach, 1km from a really nice taverna.bedroom was brand new, and perfect for a family of 4 (2 kids slept in a mezanine section). brand new shower room, that was excellent.really nice pool that was perfect for kids and grown ups
