- Lovely, interesting location. Staff reasonably pleasant. Comfy bed apart from the old creaky flooring.
Cons -
- The country feel, family run establishment, exceeding our expectations
- The heating was shut down during the night. This was uncomfortable, especially as we needed to dry our wet clothes because of heavy rain we endured during the day.
- A bit on the pricy side for ‘average’ food

Nice hotel, beautiful location right in front of the Xabier castle
The heating was shut down during the night. This was uncomfortable, especially as we needed to dry our wet clothes because of heavy rain we endured during the day.
Lovely, interesting location. Staff reasonably pleasant. Comfy bed apart from the old creaky flooring.
A bit on the pricy side for ‘average’ food
A stylish old hotel in a fantastic spot. I love the period windows, window shutters, flooring, and furniture. The Baroness was a wonderful host and very generous with the patxaran. If you are a pilgrim or even just religious (Catholic), this is a great hotel to stay at while you are in Javier. Some of the breakfast yoghurts were a little out of date but they still tasted fine.
The hotel had a lovely old-style charm with wooden floors, meeting rooms filled with opulent furnishings, and deep red carpeting. Wonderful atmosphere and just across the street from the castle. The breakfast buffet was fine: cheese, meats, cereal, croissants, orange juice, fruits, pan tostada, yogurt, and coffee - all for 9 euros. The price of the hotel was very reasonable.
The hot water took forever to arrive. It stayed tepid for so long that I thought there was no hot water. Have patience. There was also a slight smell that came from the bathroom twice when I walked in, but it dissipated quickly. Finally, even though I slept well, I could hear my neighbors moving and talking. It wasn’t bad, but it was more than I expected.
Nice looking building with the castle directly opposite.
Interior is a little dated, there was an outside bar but no one working on it and the inside bar was also closed until the restaurant opened at 8:30. Not much to do there other than visit the castle.
Location was great, food in restaurant was very good.
Poor attitude of some of the staff. Some were very good, a couple of them were ignorant.
Location! Surrounding nature! Views! And incredible authentic atmosphere!
You can hear all the visitors in all the rooms at the same time. Very loud creaking of the floorboards, both in the room and in the hallway. And when they flush the toilet behind the wall - there is no chance not to wake up. So no insulation at all, like we live all together. Also the breakfast is too poor for the price, the kind of orange juice is a poisoned beverage, actually the cheapest you could find in a supermarket. There is a very good restaurant inside but dinner starts only at 20-30 which was too late for us.
It is a great location for a stop off while on a motorcycle tour ,great parking ,great breakfast and the meal we had in the evening was outstanding ,the staff are an absolute credit to this hotel ,could not have been nicer or more friendly
The floors are a bit creaky but thats to be expected in a beautiful old hotel
Quirky charm in a great location
Attachment for shower broken and very squeaky floor boards
Location was incredible. The views are wonderful. The food in the restaurant is very good. Good wine list.
The double bed in 211 isn’t comfortable but this isn’t a modern or fancy hotel, so you get what you pay for. Waiting staff were a little abrupt and not enamoured by my terrible Spanish and asking for anything for the children that was off menu.
Color, decor, view, front desk staff. The rebuilt castle is a few steps away from the hotel and worth a visit.
The wood floor in our room was very creaky and dangerously slick.
Quiet location, food was tasty but expensive for the portions
Very, very dated room electrics were bad.the hotel in general needs a bit of money spent on it
Great staff. Excellent dinner. Fab location.
Parking for motorbikes was outside, but the location was so calm and secluded it was not a problem.
Family run hotel in amazing location. Different
Old school cracking floors it's so old school spain..
The view of the church/castle was excellent.
Extream location, it was very rural.
Good breakfast
Wedding party noisy but finished by ten o'clock

Nothing to dislike.
