Pros +
- The outside area including the bool and balcony was beautiful and very inviting and peaceful! The staff was kind and helpful. It was really nice waking up to breakfast with the wonderful view.
- Loved the mountan view and nature around. Also very quiet region, if you want to rest.Pool is very nice and the garden in the backyards.
- The rooms are a good size and well equipped, breakfast was good and the meal we had was good too. The building itself is impressive and the location is good for Spain, though there is little to do in the local town.
Cons -
- The hotel is a bit old, needs some redesigning, nothing major. And there is nothing to do in the town itself.
- Pictures of the hotel were much more modern and cute, than it actually was. The hotel probably needs reconstruction, aging is already visible. Also near by there are not lot to do, it is very close to the Spain border and looks like it is a bit ghost village. But we visited very cute village by car, Monsanto. It is not far away, and super interesting and historical town. Also we went to Sortelha, another very interesting and historical town. So, if you have a car, there are places to go and see 1 h drive away.
- The hotel itself is on the tired side and could do with some refurbishment, but its hard to see where the market is for a hotel of this side so I don't know where they would get the money from!Staff service was patchy, the reception staff were good, but trying to get a drink at the bar could be difficult. One night we returned to the hotel about 10pm, despite there being multiple guest in the bar area no one had a drink nor was there any service on offer, we waited at the bar for about 10 minutes with another guest who was waiting to be served, then went to reception to find out what was happening only to find no one there either...so we gave up!

The pool was nice
Customer service and staff are rude and not friendly. The beds are uncomfortable and rooms are outdated. Garden view is a view of the parking lot. Be aware. This is a very misleading hotel.
The pool was very beautiful, if a little cold. The restaurant was decent, and eating outside on the deck was a pleasure. The sauna and Turkish bath we’re not very hot, but the weather was quite warm so it didn’t matter that much. All in all a very relaxing stay in a truly beautiful location.
Hotel Fanta Santa is absolutely gorgeous and everyone is wonderful there. that being said the hot spring facility next-door is not something I would recommend to anyone. It is not related to the hotel but it is located next-door and it is one reason that I booked at this hotel – so that I could go to the Hot Springs spa. The thermos de Fonte Santa is an extremely outdated facility. It’s not very clean, it’s not very well organized or managed, and when I was there everyone had Covid.
Everything. This place is wonderful. The Gardens are gorgeous. . The breakfast was exceptional. & the staff were lovely.
We couldn't bing our dog !
Friendly receptionist and a very good breakfast and dinner.
The mattress was hard and not very comfortable.
Great location, in quiet setting, pretty grounds and pool. Food was superb.
Having requested twin beds as I was travelling with my son, we arrived and were given a double bed!! After asking reception we were told confirmation was only for the room. Not confirmation of twin beds. We were told there was no other room. After 11 hours driving this was not what we wanted to hear. Eventually we were given a twin room. ( so there was one!)The beds were awful. Very old hard and lumpy mattresses that had seen plenty of use. I managed about 2 hours sleep. Which was a disaster as I needed to recuperate. In addition the air con was pathetic and took until 5am to cool the room properly. So. I sleep that night. Expensive to be uncomfortable.
very beautiful setting, very nice dining room and restaurant, beautiful few, nice sitting area with bar to relax before dinner
the lights in the hallway only come on with motion which makes hall creepy and not safe feeling especially for women

Friendly helpful staff, no problem when we asked to change room, was done straight away.Buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. Man behind bar was so helpful & told us places to visit in the area. Sat in lovely lounge bar with log burner on with super local pre dinner Douro wine.
rooms ok but felt a bit cool & slightly damp in below ground room but room moved to was perfect.
Great staff. Nice restaurant and bar. Very clean. Great pool. Amazing green areas
If you have a disability you can get into the hotel without any problem and reach any floor with an elevator. Getting to the pool is a bit more challenging. Impossible even if you’re on a wheelchair. It is not my case but I still have a disability and it was challenging enough. The gardens are also very nice but don’t forget bug repellent!!
The swimming pool
The furniture and bathroom definitely need an update.
