    Pros +

    • Very nice gasthof. The owner made us feel welcome and relaxed from the beginning. The owners purchased the house 2 years ago and have put much money and work into it -- although he indicates most of the improvements so far have been to the infrastructure. They inherited several things from the former owners which are on display. Rooms are clean and painted well. The locals eat here. Food is cooked, seasoned, and presented very well. The location is a reasonably straight drive into the Salzburg Altstadt Tiefgarages. The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel and there are ample buses. We have already visited touristy Salzburg several times in previous years and the owner provided suggestions on the more 'local' see things going south through the hills. The twon has a small museum which looks interesting.

    • Great staff, good value for the money. Clean and quiet place. Excellent restaurant downstairs.

    Cons -

    • Extremely overpriced for what we got and the staff was not welcoming.
    • When we arrived at 7pm, our room was not ready and we had to wait a couple hours to get into our room. In the meantime we ate dinner their dining room which we also had to wait for a very long time. The Wienerschnitzel was unfortunately burned on the bottom side and the server forgot to bring the Kraut Salat. After waiting for 25 minutes I got up and reminded her to bring it. When we finally got to our room, it was not the large three bedroom room we had booked on Booking.com. Instead it was small room , less than half the size we had booked. The room had a queen bed and small bed, however so close one barely could pass. The view from the balcony was directly across to another apartment building. We also discovered a dirty towel and clothes in the closet from the previous guests. At 8:20 am the following morning we were awoken by the chamber maid knocking on our door to see if we had checked out. When we went to checkout at 10am we wanted to tell the reception how unhappy we were. But no one was in the hotel area, reception or restaurant. We waited a while calling for someone, when the maid finally appeared from the kitchen whom we then gave the key to.This was a very disappointing visit. We looked forward to our stay in Salzburg having driven there from France all in one day. I had called this Inn 15 minutes before arrival to make sure our room would be ready and the fellow on the other end promised all was ready. However instead there was confusion upon our arrival at the reception within the bar of the restaurant and the person checking us in was at a loss what to do.Apparently the room that we had booked, that was guaranteed for us was given instead to another family of three who arrived after us.

Comfy and clean rooms. Good location that's accessible even by public transport. It's right next to the bus stop.

During our 2 night stay, wifi wasn't working most of the time. On notifying, staff informed it's a glitch from the Internet provider but wasn't resolved in 2 days. The restaurant menu wasn't that great.

Very friendly stuff , beautiful location, it has a restaurant which is very convenient. There was also a bus stop nearby and you could get easily into Salzburg. Nice hiking trails nearby

Great nature surrounding, great breakfast and we ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was very good.

The beds were not so comfortable, the room wasn’t that clean. People were smoking at the entrance.

The location was beautiful, based at the bottom of a sheer mountain cliff. The grounds, which included an open "biergarten" were of fairy tale lore. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, provided a Salzburg transportation pass, and when they found out we hadn't obtained an Austrian vignette for driving on the highways with a German based rental car, went to a local vendor and purchased it for us, to avoid us getting a ticket. This small family operated business had world class meals and received their notice that they had a restaurant guru site Gold Star rating for their restaurant. Locals as well as travelers enjoyed the biergarten nightly. We wished we could have stayed longer than the three nights

One of the two rooms had bath with tub/shower combination, but no shower curtain. That was the only thing that could be commented on. All else was exceptional.

Nice breakfast with lots of choices!Staff was extremely helpful to us!Dinner was so delicious!Bus was right across the street to go to city center. Lots of parking.

Quiet and Located on the outskirts of the city. Excellent breakfast and a great restaurant.

The family room with beds for four had a shower open to the sleeping area only divisible by a curtain. The mattresses were old and the there was a leak in the roof with water stains on the ceiling.

    10LuxPosted on: 7-7-2025

Amazing location just outside the city. On the end of a bus route that ran every 30 min. Parked the car for free. Hotel provided free bus tickest for the stay. Easy to get downtown. Breakfast and dinner were great. We also used this location to visit Berchtesgadener and eagels nest. 30 min away. Staff were very helpful. Beer was great.

The hotel had no control over the weather. We were there during a heat dome and the temps were 94 f which made for warm nights until the early morning when the temps dropped into the 70s. Again no reflection on the hotel.

Very competitively priced and great location if you want to park for free and take the bus into Salzburg - it is just a very short walk to the bus stop and there is one every 20 minutes. Also just a 25 minute drive from Berchesgaden (Eagles Nest). The hotel is not the Ritz but it is good and the food is also very good.

No lift which is a little awkward but apart from that a comfortable stay.

Location is peaceful, has parking, easy access to the city center by bus about 30 min. Charming environment and building, spacious room and overall a great place to stay to visit Salzburg. Room also stayed cool even though it was hot outside.

Might have been an oversight on the cleaning but some linen was not folded, water bottle half filled and small lid on the floor. Can hear hallway and outside so earplugs are recommended if you're sensitive to noise.

    10SilviaPosted on: 6-17-2025

It was clean, comfy, with very good breakfast and kind employees and amazing location - view at the mountains, good starting point for the Königsee, and also the bus to Salzburg is right in front of the gasthof. Also the restaurant is very good. The room and also whole building is beautifully furnished and decorated.

The bathroom (shower and washbasin) is part of the room separated only by a curtain, which was unexpected, but we didn't mind it at all. The toilet is standalone, separated by a wall and door.

Location next the riverstream, forest and mountains and lots of fresh air. Away from the city (Salzbuirg) but still only 15-20 min drive to downtown, and they are located at the last stop of city-bus to Salzburg. They had a nice "beer" garden in the back of hotel.

The room was okay and manageable. However, I had a very bad experience with this booking, as I was informed that my room was suddenly canceled. Later when I called the hotel, they said that at the last minute someone had canceled, so I would get a room. This was unfair.

We arrived late evening (22.00) starving and the owners took it upon themselves to cook for us a huge and delicious meal.

Comfortable, clean, food was excellent, staff very friendly

Coffee and tea in room, body wash was empty, stair lift may help the infirm
