    Cons -

    • The hotel looks like from times of my parents in the 60's and 70's. It has not been updated. The bathrooms and the whole building is old. The beds were clean, but there's no A/C and it was extremely hot.
    • I had no complaints.
    • WiFi was very bad on the 2nd floor.Rooms NEED to have Garbage bins (apart from those small ones inside toilets). It was very difficult to take care of the garbage specially with small kids.

The hotel was super quiet and in a quaint location. Away from the hustle and bustle of the Luzern. We felt like a local in this town. Everyone was very kind and it was super peaceful and relaxing. Our room had an amazing view of Lake Luzern. It’s was directly next to the bus stop and Boat that takes you across the lake. They had a nice water front area to relax on. And the restaurant at the hotel was delicious. Everything you need in one place.

It was my 2nd time staying at this property with family. 1st time was in Aug. 2021 and my review is still (more or less) the same as the last time with few additions/subtractions:Breakfast.Friendly Staff.Location (just 12-15 km from Rigi, 40-45 mins drive to Mount Pilatus) View from Hotel is exceptional.Bus Stop right in front of Hotel (Bus No. 502 & 508)Ferry station right in front of HotelThere is a small store (Volg) just 3-4 mins walk from HotelA few Restaurants/Pizzeria within walking distance from HotelLast time there was a kids play area but now you can find toys for kids inside the family rooms

WiFi was very bad on the 2nd floor.Rooms NEED to have Garbage bins (apart from those small ones inside toilets). It was very difficult to take care of the garbage specially with small kids.

Enjoyed everything about this place! Johnny met us for checkin. Sabrina was a server in alllll the restaurants and was very attentive. Amy was our server for an incredible steak dinner at 400 Degree steakhouse. It was definitely the time of year we visited because we felt like we were the only guests there. There’s no way this place during their busy season isn’t fully booked - make sure your book early for their high season stay or go in the off season like we did….So quiet and peaceful!

Excellent, attentive and friendly staff, amazing views and a well maintained hotel. I highly recommend having their dry aged beef there. Amazing hospitality

    Unacceptable

The hotel was closed for renovation. The tenant did not know about our booking. We cancelled after finding another hotel.I lost my money with no refund until today

We were able to park immediately outside the hotel. Check in was easy and the room was exactly as described. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant and a great breakfast. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

    Nothing to dislike

    1MichellePosted on: 9-2-2024

Staff was nice, that is the ONLY positive thing I can say about the place

The room was dirty, the shower was small, the room was so hot I thought I was going to suffocate. Absolutely no air flow at all. Had to have the windows open so I didn't die of heat stroke. The noise from the road was so loud it was like my bed was on the road. The bars next door played their music until 0200 with no concern to anyone else in the area and for people trying to sleep. People would smoke in the restaurant below, and the smoke would get into the room. The absolute worst stay here in Switzerland for this trip

Upsetting that I’m still waiting for a response about been double charged

Extremely disappointed with both the hotel and booking.com as I had been double charged for my stay and still fighting for a refund.

    8JjjhurPosted on: 7-27-2024

The area is very nice. Just a few steps away you can enjoy swimming in the lake. The hotel is located not far from Brunnen where you can find several shops and restaurants and also boat rides and mini-golf, magnificent scenery! Breakfast was good and it was nice having it on the terrace.

The sofa in the bedroom was stained and the rug too. For the price that we payed we expected the room to be impeccable.

Superb location, polite staff, excellent food.. we will definitely come back with love

Good location, parking available and great, friendly staff.

    9ChristinePosted on: 6-27-2024

Good clean room, pleasant atmosphere around the hotel, good breakfast polite staff. Lake view room very much worth the money. Gersau is quiet to stay but the regular buses and ferries to other towns and cities is ideal

We were looking for a place to stay near Lake Lucerne. We found this hotel just outside the city. What can I say. It was an excellent hotel. The view from the room was the most beautiful I have seen. The mountains and lake made the stay worthwhile. The food was great, the room was great. You will not be disappointed. If you are in the area you must stay here.

That I had to leave after only one night. I could retired here.

The welcome, staff friendliness and helpfulness were second to none. The room was superb. The restaurant was also top class.

    Noisy road

Wonderful reception, very comfortable, clean and spacious family room, and the restaurant provided our family with one of the best family meals we have had in ages. The proprietors and hosts could not have been more friendly and caring.

    10SuePosted on: 12-5-2023

Friendliness of the staff was exceptional. Hotel was very quiet as it was out of season which suited our short day
