Hotel Padre Cruz

Older family run hotel that is all heart. In house restaurant for people who are staying there with free breakfast. We loved it. I’d recommend this place to anyone walking the Camino. Just take a cab from Sao Padre de Torre to avoid the highway walk.

The proximity to the Camino is a challenge because of the very busy highway between the Hotel and the Camino.

Clean and comfy! We had a great night's sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning. The staff is wonderful!

Very good value for a one night stop. Decent bar and terrace area. Very helpful staff.

Location was tricky for cycling into Valença, but we managed to find side roads after a brief section of very busy road.

Very well located, just outside Valença. Comfortable and convenient, good for a night’s rest. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. Recommended!

We had a three-person room, and space was limited. Location is somewhat isolated from town.

Poor noise insulation. I could hear doors closing, showers, flushing toilets, etc. from other rooms

the place is a bit remote, more suitable for people who come by car than for a camimnho. but otherwise excellent. jose and his family were very nice and help ed us. although the hotel is located by the road it is very quiet.

The owners were very nice. I got cherries as gift from them. Also they changed date of my stay as the weather was not good for long walk (for pilgrim). Thank you so much

My second visit to the Padre Cruz. It's all spotlessly clean. Friendly welcome from the manager. Comfy bed. Plenty of free parking. Good buffet breakfast, excellent coffee. There's a little outdoor sitting area. It looks like the're just starting to construct an outdoor/terraced extension to the breakfast room, which will be lovley. Excellent value for money. Ideal for someone in the area who needs easy car access.

A very reasonable budget option. The room was simple but spotless with freshly laundered white sheets. Excellent safe parking.I'll definitely stay here again.

Busy road to hotel.

Cleanliness, sympathetic personnel, quiet at nighttime, breakfast included, excellent price/quality ratio.

Difficult to find the hotel at night - should be well signalled with a huge bright sign, especially since the hotel is off the road.No elevator, one big flight of stairs just to reach the reception.

The hotel and owner are very nice but unfortunately only put the heating on in the room once you check in so arriving at 6pm the room was freezing it took more then till 1am to reach a decent temperature. I had to sleep fully clothed. Breakfast was OK. Such a pity about the cold and broken heater in bathroom

Simple, clean space. Good breakfast provided.Owner was exceptional- suggested a restaurant, drove us there and ensured we could get a taxi back. Also drove us back to our walking route…!!He went out of his way to ensure our stay was good.

The room was very cosy, having all the necessary amenities! The bed was very comfortable, and the blinds fully darkened the room even during the day, and the area was quiet! To put in perspective, I have cronic insomnia, and I usually have a lot of trouble sleeping during travels, yet I slept like a baby all the 3 nights! The breakfast was also really nice and complete!The staff was super super friendly, you can see they were genuinely interested in helping you, I asked for a taxi and they offered me a ride towards the station in Valença! And we were really nice to talk to.Additionally, there's an excellent bike rental service, with very high-quality top-end electric bicycles available! The purpose of this trip was to explore the surrounding villages and bike paths by bike, and I ended up doing 120km in total, and it was with ease with the supplied bike!Overall, I'm super happy with the service, and it was a magnificent experience, super good value, quality waaaaay above the 2 star rating! I hope to come back one day to explore more in the Minho area!Thank you for everything!
