Hotel Metohija

Located centrally in town. Bars and restaurant right outside the front door.

No AC.

I stayed here because it is half way between Trebenje and Sutjeska national park. The town itself is little known, quiet, and clean. The hotel is sitting right at the main square of the town. There is a large cafe/restaurant, and plenty of other dinning choices around.

The hotel's information system needs updating: I paid online through booking.com one day before I arrive. And when I checked out, they could not find my payment in the system until they called a senior manager over the phone.

The staff was extremely welcoming and kind.

Smoking is allowed and happens in the restaurant downstairs and although rooms are supposedly non-smoking, I would not recommend staying unless you’re oblivious to the smell.

We disliked the smell of cigarette smoke in the room, it was even worse in the hallway. There was a table but no chair and something spilled in the drawer. We also noticed smudges on the sheets and the towels had an unpleasant smell.

We checked into the property and I guess night time is the time when you can’t see all the faults of this place. Staff was apparently very “busy” to assist with anything - they can walk right past you and expect you to follow them. Our passports were scanned and copies were left on the table for everyone else to see - how’s that safe? All floors of the hotel were smelly as people are allowed to smoke inside with little to no ventilation. Our room was dirty: old worn slippers, dust, stains on bed linen, blood on the bed frame and a burn mark (apparently from a cigarette). Right next to you in the shower, apparently for a little tickle, you’ll find a socket - how safe and considerate. We certainly cannot recommend this property.

No hot water. Electric wires sticking out of wall. Said a cup of coffee was not part of breakfast and charged for it. Cigarette smoke all pervasive

Not really clean, some marks on out towels, hair in the bathroom … hotel not completely finished : cables coming out of the walls … the boiler was turned off when we arrived so we had to wait until the morning to have a hot shower.Staff never at the reception and letting the prints of your IDs document on the desk at the view of anyone …Breakfast is only eggs, tou have to pay if you want hot drinks or juice

Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Good wifi. Good selection of tv channels.

The name of the hotel on the signs said Hotel Milica, not Hotel Metohija, so it was quite confusing when trying to find it. There were blood splatters (or something like it) on the wall behind the bathroom door. The water in the shower was scalding hot.

THE WHOLE PLACE SMELLS LIKE CIGARETTE, it’s allowed to smoke inside so beware that the pillows, the beds , the corridors and everything has a strong smells of cigarette/ashes we didn’t have hot water so we couldn’t shower
