Vøringfoss Hotel

Very clean, staff was friendly and helpful and the location was great. Breakfast was very nice.

Excellent breakfast, well presented in a lovely dining room with an excellent view of the fjords.

Coffee machine did not have milk in it for lattes and cappuccinos. The staff was very efficient but not warm towards guests. A few smiles can go a long way. We did not like having the cruise ship right outside of our balcony- fortunately it was only docked for one day.

I loved the hotel location and the staff were very nice here. Breakfast was delicious, close to charging stations, grocery, pharmacy and of course, the falls

The tour boat comes in and almost completely blocks the view of the fjord. Sad

We got lucky since we did not have any cruise ships staying in the fjord during our short stay (those things are a menace) so we really enjoyed our time at the hotel, with a cruise ship around your expeience might be different.The rooms were really spacious and although they are a bit dated, they were ok. Hotel has a great bar with a patio overlooking a fjord so you can enjoy the view with a pint. The real highlight was breakfast, apparently really good breakfast at the hotels is a thing in Norway, but this one in particular was maybe top 2 or 1 we had.

Great location with great balcony views provided that there is not a cruise ship at the dock. No cruisers for us and we loved every thing about the hotel and the village of Eidfjord. Breakfast had lots of choices.

A refrigerator in the family room would be very practical while travelling with kids.

The place is amazing, the breakfast and the restaurant was pretty good.

The cruise ship. The hotel charges extra for the room but if a cruise ship is docked, your view is completely blocked off. We were lucky and the ship left after 4 5 hours after we checked in but consider checking a cruise schedule before paying extra for the view.

The man at the front desk was a grouch and not at all welcoming. I also did not like nor did I expect a giant cruise ship parked just outside my room, blocking any view at all.

Convenient location at Eidfjord with a newly renovated room. Close to hiking trails and locations to explore. Good breakfast in the morning.

Beautiful view of the fjord.

There was a giant cruise ship on both days that I was there that blocked the entire view of the fjords from my room (paid extra for a room with a view). I wasn’t informed until I arrived. I felt like I was staying at a regular “cookie cutter” hotel. I would not stay here again. Was very bummed to see so many cute small, bed and breakfasts in the area that I could’ve stayed at instead.

Historical building with plenty of character. Original looking rooms, but bathrooms are updated. Very relaxing atmospher

Breakfast was excellent with a good selection. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was big and with a tub! There were ample space to put my own products in the shower and near the wash basin.

It was located right next to the fjord with an amazing view and it was next to a lot of charging stations.

The view to the fjord is blocked by big cruise ships most do the day. Only in the morning and late evening the ships are gone and show the view of the fjord.

Front desk service could have been better. Had to wait to check in. Later, when I came to ask a question I had to wait while the same staff member entertained other guests who were hanging out in the lobby.He was pouring them drinks at the counter. It's one thing to be friendly with guests, but not at the expense of someone needing his service.

Location is perfect, in front of a huge fjord, beautiful landscape. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, and very close to a charging vehicle station.

A nice hotel in a convenient location. 20 minutes to Vøringfoss and 1.5 hours to Odda/Trolltunga. Very helpful staff. Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. daily but the hotel provides breakfast boxes upon request if you leave earlier.There are plenty of chargers near the hotel if you travel in an electric vehicle:- Porsche Destination Charger (cheapest at kr. 15 per hour paid to the hotel)- Tesla Supercharger (between kr. 5.25 and kr. 5.85 per kWh with additional idle fees)- Eviny Fast Charger (between kr. 4.29 and kr. 4.99 per kWh with additional fees after 80%+)

Value per money is quite low due to few other hotels within a driving distance. Comparable hotels cost far less in other regions of Norway and elsewhere. The hotel rooms would also benefit from an update. Carpets in particular are quite dirty, giving the rooms a distinct old smell. The area around the hotel could get quite busy if your stay overlaps with a cruise ship arrival. If that happens, the ship blocks the fjord view from the rooms.
