    Pros +

    • Beautiful old castle, very comfortable rooms, very quiet. Nice breakfast
    • Truly I have never been to a more picturesque place. The hotel was clean and gorgeously remodeled - the breakfast was delicious and the views to accompany, even better! The hotel assisted us with getting e-bikes to explore which I would highly recommend. Every recommendation they had for wineries or food near the property was spectacular!
    • Rooms and bathrooms were modern - newly renovated and comfortable. Beautiful interior (cellar, restaurant etc). Great views. Very convenient location, down the street from some top wine producers and great running trails. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Switched rooms when TV didn’t work in the first room

    Cons -

    • Nothing!
    • TV didn’t work properly in first room. There were a couple of large dead flies in the bathroom and by the window of our second room. First room was bigger and nicer with less of a view
    • Too many people at dinner. Not enough staff.

    Amazing location and beautiful place

Severely understaffed. Most of the time we were there only 1 person for the whole hotel was on staff. Nobody answered the phone. We were given keycards on the first day that would not open the front door and no one was at the hotel after 4pm. We had an infant and it was over 35c outside. We luckily found a door that was unlocked after banging on every window and door. We called the main line and emergency line maybe 25 times. We also called reception dozens of times and never had someone answer. The area where there was supposed to be coffee was always empty, it was never replenished. We were in an area with so much wine but it took 30 minutes to order one glass of wine. The pool area is 10 feet from a half bar with wine and drinks, yet being out there all day no key came to help or ask if we needed anything. When I went inside to try and order drinks, it took about 10-20 minutes each time. The one person on staff seemed exasperated and like it was there first day. She told me she was also cleaning all the rooms by herself. Everyone was kind but it was clear they were struggling. For something this expensive you expect a different level of service. It was better for the last day we were there (they mentioned there were festivals in the area that may have left them understaffed) but we should have been made aware of this first. The first night the entire restaurant was also closed and yet it still says it would be open until 11pm

The view is insane, the food and the cocktails excellent. The price is not so expensive

We met an issue with the air conditioning

Our room was exceptionally large and beautiful from a design perspective, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The restaurant was also excellent, both wait staff and chef. A real highlight was the cellar.

Slovenian Toscana. Similar to our Croatian Istria. Beautiful surroundings. The owner Darko is very friendly, gave us lot of tips about premium Slovenian sparkling and still wines. Most of the very impressive Slovenian wineries are just few minutes from the hotel. Hotel itself has one of the most beautiful vinotheques we have ever been, and we have been around....Hotel proudly presents its very refined Michelin star aspiring Restaurant which we warmly recommend

It’s a great property with amazing wine cellar.

The size of the room was ridiculously small, no place to leave the luggage except in the wardrobe, no writing desk., basically just the bed and built in cupboards. We were the only guests at the property at that date so it was creepy during the night - no night manager, just the phone number. No option to regulate the heating so we had to sleep with the window open.

Fantastisch staff, very friendly. She arranged a great wine tasting as well as restaurants. Exceptional service

Comfortable bed, great location, perfect breakfast

Bedroom was very small and no chair to sit in

Beautiful style, friendly staff, great restaurant, close to wineries, incredible views!

The room was very small and the heater was on, so it felt very stuffy.

Dinner was superb. Room spacious, clean, well-equipped, quiet and comfortable. Staff were very nice when you could find them, but there was no-one on reception when we arrived (6pm) and guests had difficulty checking out the following morning because there was no-one on the desk for long periods

Breakfast was very nice, staff very friendly, the late lunch we booked for Sunday 3pm was excellent!! The location is wonderful, we will come back.

When we came back to the hotel Sunday night the door could not be opened with our entrance cards. We hat to ring the owner who immediately could solve the problem. I was lucky to have the phone number with me, otherwise I do not know how we would have been able to solve the issue.

Great place and location! Lovely decor. Beautiful setting and finishing touches. Rooms are clean. Amazing views!

Breakfast was very limited. No coffee, tea or water in the rooms. Restaurant was closed.

Location is beautiful and especially the wine cellar is spectacular. Maybe a bit clinical in terms of furniture

The staff seems like they do not want the guests to be there, they make no effort to make you feel welcomed or try to ask could they help with anything. For example during the 2 days, not once anyone came to the pool to offer drinks, you always have to go to the reception to make the order

Excellent scenery, beautiful landscape, little charming castle, good breakfast. Worth the visit!

We got married in this hotel a year ago so we obviously love it! It's beautiful and the restaurant is amazing. However, it has recently changed owners, and when we spent a night here for our anniversary we were surprised at the lack of staff. There was nobody at the front desk in the evening, nobody to serve drinks in the terrace, the waitress at the restaurant didn't even speak Slovenian etc. The price for the room is also quite inflated, but it's true every place in the vicinity is almost as expensive in high season. All in all, we might come back in a few years for nostalgic reasons, but I really hope the staff situation improves by then.

We stayed in the double room this time. It was nice, but small and bright during the night from the outside lights (this should really be fixed ASAP!). However, tje difference between regular room and a suit, where we have stayed before, is huge - if you can afford to, chose one of the suits for your stay.

Beautiful hotel in a great location, hotel staff went out of their way to organise a visit to a local winery for us.Restaurant food while pricey (for Slovenia) is worth every penny.

Only negative we had were the pillows were not great! A shame as the bed was super comfortable.
