- Excellent location. Very helpful staff. Restaurant has incredible food!
- Breakfast was incredible with lots of options. The surroundings of the hotel are so peaceful and breathtaking. The rooms are large.
- Beautiful hotel in amazing surroundings. Really well run and maintained .Staff were friendly and discreet and the standard of service was high at almost all times.
Cons -
- The only issue we had was the property was tucked away in the mountains, far from beaches, clubs or any restaurants really. It was a place for couples looking to get away from the city. Since I was with a Friend didn’t make much sense for us.
- You only get one pool towel for your whole stay that you have to carry back and forth. The walk from the parking to the rooms is long and not good for luggage.
- This hotel lacked a few small simple touches that would make it truly exceptional. A couple of bottles of complimentary water in your room on arrival, an accessible ice station or machine, the provision of slippers for the walk from room to pool, a simple honesty drinks cart at the pool, even for soft drinks and water. A candle on your dinner table in the evening and maybe some discreet background music over dinner to completely compliment the excellent food and service. Also found the guy at check out to be gruff and to the point..no chit chat or smiles or inquiries about our stay and no encouragement to return soon.. quite bizarre really as the last point of contact.

We loved so many things...Incredible views, historical charm and soul of the entire place, beautiful pool with the view on mountains, lovely lady from the night reception, very friendly people who assisted our breakfast and diner
We didn't like the parties organised next to our hotel / swimming pool... Loud wedding party on Saturday , then loud communion reception on Sunday . It didn't allow us to truely relax and enjoy our peaceful time there and this place is really made for people to relax and take a break from crowds of people and noise. The last thing we didn't like was the receptionist calling our room at 12.10 for check out while we were just going downstairs . I understand it was 10 min later but nobody ever called us for that in any other hotel :)
Incredible scenery, beautiful pool, option for indoor pool if weather isn’t great. Dinner was exceptional, had the truffle sirloin and T bone steak
I really like the location, views, stuff, rooms were clean, cute and comfortable.
Wifi was awful, sadly. I couldn’t work at all:(
Exceptional
Everything was perfect , super location, Amaya zing pool area, super food , big rooms , exceptional staff. Will come back.
The people did all they can to make you feel at home! Fantastic personel. Great location. Great building.
Poolwater was icecold in April and too much chloride smell. Television did not work and although mentioned 3 times nobody solved it. Food was good but the kitchen had some problem preparing exactly what was ordered. The room 22 was a bit smelly. Shower in bathtub not essy. Second day was no warm water in shower all day. Wifi was ok but not quick.
location is amazing, normal buffet breakfast, very nice dinner menu
we stayed for one night, there was no hot water, the room wasn't prepared in detail, the little fridge was off with one bottle of water inside, there was a Coffe machine and tea box but there were no tea bags or Coffe pods, and when we asked about it, they said that because we only stayed for a night they don't provide Coffe or tea,.. for a 4 star superior as they called themselves we found the answer ridiculous. The sauna wasn't working, there was a shortcut
The hotel is converted house. Loads of character, beautifully decorated and furnished. You feel like you are somewhere really special.
The spa needs a bit of attention but this didn’t detract from a fabulous stay.
The location was very beautiful and secluded. The scenery was 10/10 and the property is laid out very well with lots of quiet spaces to explore. I also really loved the decor around the gardens and plants. A lot of original decor and old details inside the hotel also.
Sadly we arrived to our stay pretty late and had to leave very early the next day missing out on the included buffet breakfast by 30mins. We mentioned this the night before to the front desk staff and they told us to come down early anyway and we can have some things before we leave as it should all be set up. It was ready in the morning but we're a bit disappointed to find that the staff woman on was not offering us anything and seemed very annoyed we even asked to make a coffee with the machine. Eventually we found a banana and had a quick coffee before leaving. Such a shame because the breakfast looked great and technically we paid for it...
Location was lovely
from start to finish teh experience was terrible.unfriendly staff, poor servicethe bed was rock solid, the pillows were hard and they could not offer any alternative our room was above the bar and it was super loud past midnight, which meant we could not sleepthere was only one iron for the whole hotel, so we could not press our clothes
Younger staff are very friendly, the food is very very good. I would go for a meal here but not stay.
Our room was very dark and basic, I could continuously hear the toilets flushing from other rooms loudly, like the pipes went through our bathroom, and there was a smell from the drains in the bathroom. I really just wanted to leave early, they insisted we had to pay the entire reservation cost, and they blamed it on being a booking.com reservation, when in fact they had declined my request through booking.com to cancel our second night. So I paid for a night that I didn't stay or want to stay.
Beautiful hotel, magnificent grounds and view. Wonderful experience. Bear in mind it’s not cheap and you do need a car, but as long as you know this in advance there is nothing to fault
Amazing view, food and drinks
Unorganized service, non-existent service at the lounge in front of reception, no room-service, no service at the pool. Room and hotel were clean at all times, but quality of room is not met for a 4 start hotel.
Everything. It’s the most beautiful, characterful hotel
Nothing about the property itself. However, there were two weddings during our stay, on consecutive nights. Only told the morning of the first one. The hotel has a lovely event space which is pretty self contained and if you’re accommodated away from the front of the hotel you’re unlikely to be disturbed. But, the second wedding was very big with several guests staying the night before. They did take over the facilities and were drinking from 11am. They were rowdy, boorish and crowded out the other hotel guests and while we all had paid to be there and all had the right to enjoy the space, it was a bit of a wedding takeover. The rest of us had very different reasons for being there so our objectives clashed. We thought the hotel could perhaps offer large weddings if they buy out the hotel for exclusive use. Then everyone is happy. The hotel is quiet and tucked away so it’s where you’d choose for some proper r&r, floating in the pool looking straight at beautiful mountains.
It’s incredibly peaceful and quiet midweek. Weddings from Friday onwards makes it livlier. With only 27 rooms but large hotel grounds, gardens and space, you feel like you have exclusive use of everything and that’s worth paying the extra compared to other hotels. The grounds are stunning with captivating views. Silence is golden! The staff are so helpful and friendly. This is the second time we’ve stayed and we weren’t disappointed.
No pool service for drinks
The most incredible scenery with lovely food and wine
Nothing but you do need a car to get around
Fantastic location. Restaurant food and staff were good and good value
Staff in reception were curt, not very friendly. Bathroom not clean with black hairs in bath and basin.
Location was astounding! Lovely scenic surroundings. Breakfast was amazing. All food was sublime :) Friendly staff. Loved the pool!
If there is an event on it can be tricky to find a parking space.
