The main water jet of the spa pool is broken for more than a year now...

I was traveling by bike so cobblestones were a pain going in & put, but that’s Portugal!!

Tiny ants that loved the bar fridge . Arrived in the evening and the restaurant was fully booked, it would have been nice to know we had to reserve in advance

We had a wonderful stay at Monte Prado Hotel & Spa! The location is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature and offering peaceful views that instantly make you feel relaxed. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a lovely view. The bed was comfortable, and we truly appreciated the tranquility of the surroundings.The spa was a great addition to our experience, providing a perfect way to unwind. The indoor pool and relaxation areas were well-maintained, making it easy to spend a peaceful afternoon there.Breakfast was delicious, with a good selection of fresh and tasty options. If you’re looking for a place to relax, enjoy nature, and have a peaceful retreat, this is a great choice! We truly enjoyed our time here and would love to return.

We were quite disappointed to be charged for parking in an outdoor lot, especially in a location where there are no alternative transportation options and no other parking spaces nearby. It felt unreasonable and somewhat out of place for a hotel of this level. When you come to a place like this to relax and enjoy the experience, an unexpected extra charge for something as basic as parking leaves a sour impression. For an elegant hotel, this policy truly lacks the elegance and hospitality one would expect :(((

The hotel is located in a great area, really calm and beautiful. The check in was fast and smooth and the personnel really friendly. The room was clean and big with great views over the forest and swimming pool. We really enjoyed our stayed. We had dinner at the restaurant and portions were super big and all food was really tasty. Breakfast was also varied and good.

The only area of improvement is the spa, we went there and the main pool water was quite cold, many of the saunas/showers did not work, and in a cold day, it was only one jacuzzi that had a higher temperature. Also, there were many kids shouting and running around, which is not expected of a spa, where you are looking to relax. If the spa was on the right temperature and there were no kids running around, this place would be a 10 out of 10.

Comfortable bed

- The spa’s child-free hours were completely disregarded, with children jumping into the pool from the sides. It was far from the relaxing experience promised.- Room service was a disaster—taking 1.5 hours to deliver just two plain burgers, and they arrived cold. Absolutely unacceptable.- The breakfast bacon, eggs and mushrooms were cold, not having a proper container to keep the warmth.- The bathroom amenities were non-existent, with nothing provided except a bar of soap.- The rooms are in dire need of renovation, with mold visibly growing on some of the walls.This hotel is nowhere near 4-star quality!

The swimming pool and the breakfast

Having to pay to leave the car in the parking lot! There is no logic to it.The architecture of the building is uninteresting and the artwork spread around the building is plain bad and shows no taste for art.

Power station to charge electric cars not working, or at least could not be used via an app. Staff unfamiliar as well about how best to use it

Really good breakfast with a lot of variety. Very friendly staff.The room size was amazing, everything was big, from the bathroom to the bed, and the balcony was perfect to sit and enjoy nature! The facilities have a free inside and outside pool, a jacuzzi and a Turkish bath. There is a spa, with some treatments like massages that you will have to pay extra but the prices seemed pretty reasonable to me.

The inside pool is not that big and there are a lot of little kids, which is normal, but not that relaxing… the size should be bigger for the amount of guests that use the pool

A lovely setting, with really friendly staff. The spa itself doesn't take full advantage of the surroundings, but that is the architect's fault. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but the bathrooms are so dark that it is a challenge to see while shaving.

The most ridiculous thing is that you cannot have a coffee before 8:00 in the morning, and there is no option for coffee in your room. This is especially silly since coffee is not made by an employee, but simply an automatic machine, which just stands there waiting.The breakfasts are a good/typical buffet, but we found the food at dinner was rather tasteless. Also, zero atmosphere. Some music would help. I think most of the guests went out for dinner elsewhere. They were smarter.

Very slow service for reserved dinner at 9 pm, we arrived promptly but after we were taken to our table we waited 15 minutes for service and a drink at our table before ordering food that arrived 1 hour later? The internal swimming pool and Jacuzzi were too cold, not heated enough.

The hotel has magnificent views. The room was very large and spacious, so was the bathroom. Very comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels. Excelent breakfast and restaurant, and spa facilities (interior pool, turkish bath and jacuzzi - which had clean water even at the end of the day).

Although the restaurant is great, I do not recommend the risotto. Plus, i found it very unpleasant to be charged to park my car in an outside parking, when there are no other means of transportation and no other parking spots near! For an elegant hotel, this attitude lacks elegance.

We enjoyed the swimming pool. My kids had a great time swimming. Lovely location, we had some beautiful walks. Good selection of breakfast.

Room is spacious though needs a kettle so we could have a hot drink. Snacks are very pricey. At the buffet breakfast, there were flies everywhere.
