The property was clean, peaceful, the breakfast was good and there are good hikes to explore!

The location is very remote which is great for a peaceful time away but makes it very hard and expensive to get to if you’re not driving.

Very unprofessional and rude staff Mr Ramos in this case.

Old furniture, molde in the bathroom, rooting walls.

Very beautiful place, good to explore the region. Room was big, rather good breakfast with fresh fruits.

The hotel is old, photos was made in better times for the hotel. Was no fridge in big family suite and no drinking water.

The space and the clean room. A bonus is gluten-free diet.

Behind the hotel is a dog shelter. The dogs were barking and crying all day and night.

- Urgently needs refurbishment. The cork floor by the balcony door is ruined (maybe due to UV rays)- Breakfast just at 8am, and the breakfast box is by no means satisfactory- Price policy: I booked it ahead and the day I arrived the same room as available for 10 EUR less

Reception staff was very helpful, gluten-free breakfast roll was provided as requested and breakfast staff very helpful, special deal price for a Monday appreciated and hotel very conveniently located.

Scrambled egg somewhat overcooked, otherwise good breakfast.

A peaceful central location with a great mountain view. Very helpful English speaking staff at check in. Free secure parking. Delicious and plentiful selection at breakfast. Room with balcony was spotlessly clean and lacked for nothing. Walking distance to numerous hikes, stunning waterfalls, grocery stores, cafes and restaurants. We will be back!

Bed was quite firm. Balcony door lock needed adjustment.

Quiet, clean, aired room.Breakfast was okay - continental with bacon and scrambled eggs, although these 2 items did not look very appetising.

The bed was just EXTREMELY noisy.

I love this hotel. We came back for the second time. The staff really make you feel at home. It’s Clem and wonderful breakfast. Fantastic location. Highly recommended.

This property is such a wonderful place to stay: clean, extremely spacious, there are 2 beautiful cosy lounges where you can sit and relax, read or have a drink. There place is full of character and charm: lots of interesting books and maps, pictures and photographs on the walls. The staff are top rated: kind and friendly, informative and helpful. The location is perfect. You can stay there for a few nights and everything is walking distance. Absolutely worth the very reasonable price plus a lovely breakfast.

I honestly don’t understand how they have a relatively low rating on booking. For us they deserve 10 or more!

The staff was nice, room and the are was quiet.The owner gives tips about places to eat, and we have received a warm welcome. The room was big and the bed was really comfortable.

Bed was terrible

Location: in a historical village dating back to roman times (you can see a roman bridge) in the Penda-Geres National Park. A good base for hiking in the western part of the park. Easy access by car. Many restaurants in the village, we recommend Miradouro do Castelo (5 minutes on foot), where we dine twice and food was excellent.Bed: narrow but quite comfortable.Breakfast: OK, but nothing special. Good fruits. No vegetables. Scrambled eggs with bacon, ham, cheese, yogurt, coffee, tea – all served, but below average quality in Portugal.Parking: Hotel parking (when available) is free, street parking is free.

Hotel: Requires maintenance as many items are torn out. An elevator produces strange and noisy grinds when working.Room: TV does not work. And it is a policy of the hotel as we were explained, that they cannot take a working TV set from another room because the hotel is full. At the second day after we asked five times, they replace TV, most probably another guest had no TV. The room requires maintenance as for instance lock at the door was broken, wallpaper sticks out from the wall, electric socket torn out from the wall and hanging on the wires. The design is defective as the TV set occupies most of the writing desk and blocks a mirror;electric sockets: only one socket in the room, no socket near the bed (there is one but occupied by a lamp, which cannot be disconnected as it is the only source of light in the room);lighting: weak, only two weak night lamps near the bed, if you want to read you must go to the bathroom.Bathroom: average in size but nonfunctional, no hooks for clothes, no place for your toiletries, no electric socket. Requires maintenance as some parts are broken or not fixed properly. No heating (may be a problem in winter).WiFi: do not work, work only if there are no guests in the hotel. Do not count on WiFi late afternoon or at breakfast time.Staff: shameful, presents attitude ”Something does not work? It’s your problem, not ours” .Parking: Too small for the hotel. When we arrived the parking lot was full. Fortunately there are parking places at the main road and we park about 100m from the hotel. Not very pleasant to carry your bags, especially when the hotel announce to have its own parking.

Close to where we needed to be for our activities. Staff were friendly and the room was clean.

The rooms are dated, needs to be upgraded. They are older and smelled of smoke. So if you are sensitive to smells, may want to avoid this place.
