Viva Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa

Wonderful location on a stunning beach, clean rooms, amazing kids club staff who were so friendly and attentive, fun pools, and great breakfast buffet.

With the exception of the breakfast buffet, we felt that the food on site was not great. The dinner buffet was overall okay, but cost €75 for a family of 4. The Italian restaurant on site, Bella Vita, was terrible. Staff was nice, but the food was very basic and bland - comparable to what you would get from a kids club menu. The pool snack bar was just okay.

Gorgeous bay and hills. We booked an apartment with sea view and it was all worth it. The hotel also upgraded our apartment to one with a roof terrace - truly wonderful. Nice hiking trails in the hills. Heated pools were nice as we visited in April. Lovely place to relax and enjoy the scenery. If you come by car, there are nice cafes in nearby Cala Rajada.

Food was very good, we had all inclusive. I cannot understand people in some reviews, who were disappointed with food. I suppose, they must have a personal Michelin cook at home. There cannot be other explanations: food was always fresh, quality is high, and the variety is astonishing. Swimming pools are also very nice, and the location is amazing: pure nature, a lot of hiking routes, sea and sand.

Somehow we had cleaning not everyday, as expected, but once in 4 days. Everything else was nice.

Everything was great, from the location to the amazing staff that looked after the kids. We had a blast time, special mention to Valderrama which offered us amazing hospitality. We will definitely be back.

It would be great to put a nice coffee machine in the resort for people who don't need to do the full breakfast package.

It was our first staying at this hotel, and we found the location and facilities very good, a great sandy beach; no disappointment. The staff are professional. The reception team made sure our check-in was quick to get the meal in the evening. Special thanks for Jakob at the reception. Carla's massage was super! The accommodation and restaurants' staff are efficient, quick and friendly. It was an enjoyable time for our family with two small kids, and we are planning to come back next season.

We did not have any bad experiencel? We needed help with late arrival and late check-out, the code for the room safe, and a small improvement in our bathroom. In all cases, the staff timely helped us.

The location is excellent, the beach beautiful, especially late in the evening when it gets less crowded. The hotel staff is polite, the kids activities interesting and the size of the hotel appropriate (i.e. not too big and thus, less noisy). The variety in the breakfast and dinner was great and the quality very good. A bit difficult to book a reservation at the hotel's restaurants so we did not manage to have dinner there. The hotel is client-oriented, prompt to address special requests at the extent possible.

The bed's mattress was a bit problematic and the sofa bed not very appropriate for a kids' sleep; an additional mattress may be needed on top.

Absolutely amazing location, the resort has many facilities, beautiful pools, good entertainment quality at evenings, amazing all inclusive, we really enjoyed our stay here. The staff (entertainment, pool, restaurants, cleaning ladies) really nice and helpful.

The food could be better, it was a bit repetitive.

Great facilities for children, my 6 and 8 year old loved the resort. Pools were fab. Seaview apartment was lovely, everything you need, housekeeping changed towels and cleaned up everyday. Very comfy beds! All staff exceptionally polite. I was worried about booking here, as some reviews were a bit off, but I have very high standards and was very happy. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay in future.

To be expected, but the other guests were often loud into the evenings, soundproofing a little poor on the windows and doors.

The location close to the beach is great, the rooms are clean and the water pressure is outstanding. Bread was great.

For me the water quality in the pools was questionable. You could see a film on top and the water was never clear but milky. Didn’t want my kids to get their head under water in any way. There was a lot of choice when it comes to the food on the buffet but the quality of the ingredients was questionable for large parts - except for the bread.Shockingly the food in for example the Italian restaurant wasn’t better. The food seemed not to be freshly made.

Especially good for children. The entertainment was great, there is a good choice of pools and it is close to the beach. The food was good too.

The apartment was a bit small

The staff was very attentive, the adult-only spa area was sufficient. Rooms are nicely sized. Loved the welcome drinks in the restaurants on-site.

The restaurants were a bit plain. The breakfast (outside of the all-in buffets, there was only one option) was not worth the money. There were children in the adult-only whirlpool...

We had an apartment with a sea view and it was amazing. The staff were lovely, the food was great and our toddler had the best time.

Nice beach, good hiking options, nice views from the ocean front rooms, reasonable meal plans, & friendly staffs

Rooms were clean but the smell from the bathroom (sewer?) was always there - one of the two rooms was worse than the other. I think this is an overall problem in EU. Also, we knew this was a family friendly facility...but there were so many kids. This place is far from the airport (over an hour) by taxi. The town itself is small and not many good dining options available other than the ones within the resort. We ended up renting a car which allowed us to go around the island.

A truly fantastic resort, even on cold and rainy days! Really welcoming staff, exceptional food, amazing kids club (my daughter fell in love with the entertainment team) and heated pool that came in very handy in April. The beach is truly stunning, and there are a few other gorgeous beaches a short drive away. We had the best time!
