Pros +
- Right on the Camino. Favorite part was walking to the beach and finding caves to explore!
- Our room was one of the nicest and had a private balcony. The property's hostess was friendly and went out of her way to communicate past our lack of Spanish.
- Canero totally exceeded expectations! It’s a quiet little spot on the Camino, but my stay was very, very good — peaceful, clean, and exactly what my body (and feet!) needed. The accommodation was super comfortable, the hosts were kind, and the whole experience just felt easy and recharging. Sometimes the smaller towns surprise you the most, and this was definitely one of those gems. Would happily stay here again!
Cons -
- Staff was unpredictable- sometimes friendly, sometimes cool. The “ocean view” was a bit of an exaggeration, but the porch was lovely.
- Breakfast and Dinner felt optimized for high throughput of Camino hikers.
- Liked it all.

This was easily the most authentic and atmospheric place we stayed in on the Camino. A traditional Spanish family small hotel with access to the Sea. Sea no pretensions but everyone has a big heart. The restaurant and Cafe Bar are a magnet for locals and people using the beach as well as for walkers, so it's a nice place to stop, chill and compare notes Generous and hearty cuisine at a fair price. And enough space here that you can be pretty sure of getting in even if you're not booked
A great location, lovely walk to the sea. Very friendly and helpful staff. Attractive, well appointed comfortable room with a balcony and a view. Ample parking. Excellent evening meal.
Liked it all.
Had a long walk from Cudillero to Canero 37km over the mountain, and came across this place. I booked the hotel.Warm welcomeFoodComfortable bed
Wifi didn’t work Really cold room especially during the night as the heating never came on till 8am but I left at that time.
Location, clean, good prices for food.
Very nice staff. They welcomed us early on a very rainy day on the Camino.
The location was perfect! Dinner was really delicious.
Our room wasn't the cleanest. We had to wear shoes or our socks would get dirty. Also, the room smelled like a cat peed. That was the worst part.
Great location right off the Camino del Norte and a welcomed sight to avoid the rain set to come in. Friendly staff and a great perk to have the restaurant available for dinner and breakfast with very limited services nearby.
Nothing except the traffic noise but that can’t be helped.
Super nice location in the camino… honestly the cleanest place I’ve been to on booking. Should have a lot of pride for the place. You can arrive late… take a gin tonic at almost midnight and they are open in the morning for bocadillos early. Very friendly and I would definitely come back

The location and beach were spectacular
The owner and his wife were not very friendly or helpful to the point of ignoring guests including myself and my partner for the length of stay
Simple check-in and check-out. Staff were very accommodating. The food was typically Spanish and was amazing value. My evening meal with starter, main course and a full bottle of wine cost only 21Euro. I didn't need breakfast, but the host made me up 2 lovely parma ham Baguttes to take away with me for 5 Euros. If you get the chance, try this hotel ou - you won't be disappointed.
It’s quiet location, food is traditional, owners are lovely, rooms are basic and clean, beach is a few hundred meters away. It’s right on the access road to the mountains. Loads of secure motorcycle parking.
Everything it’s a lovely place to stay.
This was a perfect spot right on the Camino. Great accommodations, superb owners , good food. Plus, when one of our party was walking from a bus stop 2 miles away at 10 p.m. on a rainy night, the owner dropped everything to go pickup (rescue) our friend.
The location, rural, off the beaten track but still central to facilities. Excellent value for money. Friendly staff. Small but perfectly formed bedroom with a terrace. Copious reasonable evening meal. to include drinks in a restaurant overlooking the valley. Cash only for meal so be warned ! Free safe parking outside.
Great value for money.Very good meal for a low price.Could store my bike in their tool shed for safe keeping. Room was a good size, plenty of space. Comfy bed. Spotlessly clean. Great shower.5 minute walk to the beach.Hostel dorm downstairs.
Can't fault it.
Nice room with beautiful view. Short walk to the beach. Secure bicycle parking.
Our room smelled of smoke.
Restaurant served big portions. Dinner was really tasty.
Room was so cold, and when we asked the owner, he was grumpy, loud and not friendly at all.We paid to have our clothes washed, which was nice, but got it back wet and in our cold room, nothing dried over night. Next morning the whole room and everything was half wet.
Restaurant and bar on siteGood staffGood, quiet room
