Stoos Lodge

Stayed 13th August - Modern, very clean, staff extremely helpful and pleasant, information was easily available, great response time via email. Allowed us to store our luggage after check-out until we were ready to leave. A previous review just after our stay (17th Aug) complained about transport: but a combined Funicular/gondola return ticket is readily available (for those that have done their research)...and also complained about the prices in Switzerland! Well, don't come at all if that's your problem!!! :D

No kettle or cups inside room. We were able to get some hot water from the staff downstairs, but not after hours...Unusually for a modern Lodge, we could also hear other people walking around in their rooms, but we we still able to sleep ok. Unrelated to the accommodation: UV is fierce in summer and there is almost no shade on the ridge walk!

It was a nice resort and it was quiet for the most part but we could hear people walking with loud footsteps, likely with all of the concrete.

The towels were small and scratchy and we only received one each. You can put two per person with a message if not used leave on the rack or something vs. one small towel. If I wash my hair I prefer one to dry off and one to put on my hair.

You can’t beat the location! Because we stayed at the lodge we were able to hike on the Stoos ridge trail the next morning and had the ridge all to ourselves until we started meeting the hordes of people that took the chairlift up on the other side

Our initial room had a very bad smell to it that it seemed like the staff was aware of. Thankfully, we were able to change rooms and had a wonderful view and smell.

This is a quality hotel in a great location. Still I consider it overpriced.

Price! Also .I consider to feather bed covers to be too hot/heavy.

Great location with a beautiful mountain view. Very clean. New. Enjoyed it. Pricing is reasonable. We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel, and the food is tasty.

Modern clean & comfortable accommodation with friendly staff!

Modern hotel with very clean rooms that have all the basic necessities. The location is superb, especially if you're traveling with luggage. The beds were comfortable and appreciated the large windows that opened fully so you could enjoy the view and fresh air. I found the staff helpful and pleasant.

Food was very expensive and would like amenities (e.g., gym, sauna) included for such an high-priced room rate.

Location is right at the top of the funicular. Room and facilities were clean.

The lodge is more of a hotel. It is big and felt very sterile..check yourself in, activate a key card. Go to dinner, dining room is large with no personality, hit a button on the cube on the table to order, hit a button on the cube to pay. Modern and without the personality of many of the other lodges we have stayed in on this trip.

The location across from the funicular was wonderful! Clean, modern room with comfy bed was also a plus!

The price of the breakfast was too much. While the breakfast was decent, it wasn't worth 20 CHF, especially for children who pay the same price. Also, didn't like that the bathroom really wasn't a room itself. There was a see through "barrier" from the bathroom to the bedroom so anybody in the room could see right into the bathroom. No real privacy. Not the best when traveling as mother and son. Also, no AC. It got rather hot in August.

The room was amazing and staff were extremely helpful with the check in process and any questions we had. The location is also perfect for day hikes and also the Fitness/Spa area are top standard! Breakfast was also fantastic!

Having to pay for the gondola/funicular up to the hotel is a bit ridiculous. It adds an additional bonus costs which even though we were informed, should be really included for hotel guests, as the rooms are not cheap.The concept of ''paying for what you use'' is smart, but if you stay for several nights they charge you to ''refresh'' the room. This makes no sense to us. If you have X for the first night and you get a clean room then you have to pay the same price for the next night with a room which isn't refreshed, you should either have a discount on your room rate for the second night or atleast the option to say no to a refresh. Besides that, everything was amazing, just these two points stuck in our minds.

Stoos Lodge was beautiful and convenient and very dog friendly complete with a mat and dog bowls! The location is perfect at the top of the furnicular and I could store my bag after I checked out so I could hike without extra weight. I enjoyed my stay and the beautiful view from the bar area!

All amentities are at an additional cost including the fitness facilities, sauna, and breakfast.

The room was very good. Shower perfect. Bed very clean and comfy. Nice large window with a great view.

No fridge. Sauna closed early, would have been nice after a long walk on Stoos ridge. The toilet paper was almost empty and no extra.. was not nice

Restaraunt was okay but there could be better fly management. I think staff while sincere were not too proactive, the A/C for our room did not work, it was fine and we slept with window open but there was a reluctance to take the feedback "the A/C didn't work and go sort it out. Same when we asked for conditioner, we said we would pick it up from front, they said no we can deliver but after 40 min had to call them again. Training staff would help with all this.

This lodge still had a brand new feel to it. The rooms are nicely appointed and the staff was very helpful in answering our questions. The views are amazing as well!

We made a reservation for dinner at the lodge and our waiter was not very friendly plus they were clearing the tables of the night time set up while we were eating. There weren't too many people eating that the restaurant either.

Stylish, clean, and really close to the Stoos hike and the station.
