City Hotel

Excellent value for money! The staff is just fantastic! I had an issue with my booking and they fixed it immediately, even though it was not the fault of the hotel. The staff at the reception is friendly and kind, upon my arrival they knew who was coming. During breakfast the waiter was also kind.The room was clean and large. Also, free parking. Cant be happier with this hotel tbh, also given it was a last-minute booking!Also, the location is fantastic- very close to Stoos.

Very nice staff, they let us book and check in late which was very nice. The restaurant is nice and easy to get to and is open late.

They didn’t have our booked room type available when we checked in but at least they offered compensation to remedy the situation.

Location was excellent and there was free parking right outside the hotel, which is rare in Switzerland. The breakfast was above and beyond what the normal meet and cheese plate with hot scrambled eggs and sausage. The bartender was super friendly and cool.

The room had a very odd smell to it. Not entirely bad, just odd. Like too much cleaning product, possibly masking something. Maybe laundry soap with a heavy scent. If I had stayed more than a quick night it would have bothered me. The overall hotel could use updating, and a really good clean. It smelled a bit smoky (cigarette) in the common areas and just had a tired feeling. But overall ok.

Easy to parking and near lake

No refill breakfast such as rice and egg a lot of people in there can’t eat.

Breakfast is fine. Half board is very good value although the menu is set. The restaurant is next to the hotel. There was a party Saturday night at the restaurant but the sound proofing was very good so barely heard it.

Lift was broken but not their fault. It needs tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It had a fridge but no water or glasses.

We stayed here one night, during our trip to Zermatt. Staff was very friendly. Easygoing, fast check-in/check-out and helped us with everyhting we needed. The location is close to the lake for amazing views. The restaurant is spacious and therefor enough space to go there with your children. The breakfast was good, enough options. Rooms where nice, only perhaps the bathroom was a little outdated. Overall for this area in Switserland a very good price for a comfortable room.

There is really nothing that one could like about this place.

Dirty everywhere - starting with the reception area and ending with the breakfast place (we could not even touch breakfast although there was nothing much to touch). No sink to wash your hands/teeth in the bathroom (instead the sink is right next to your bed?!?!)Dirty linen, dirty towels, mattress full if mites, so much so that you start scratching your body as soon as you lay down, there were a couple of sparrows flying around in the indoor breakfast area, roaming around the bread and the rest of the food on the buffet table - other guests were not comfortable with this but staff were quite ‘busy’ talking to each other to care about anything that was going on. The list goes on and on and on

The room was small but acceptable. It was appreciated to have the toilet separate from the shower, so that one person could use the shower while the other was using the toilet. The view from the window, overlooking the internal courtyard, is not at all nice, but the advantage is the total lack of noise, so that there was no problem to sleep with the open window, as is necessary for cooling down the room in summer, having no air conditioning. In addition, the personnel was very kind and the breakfast good quality and varied.

The price was a bit high if related to the overall hotel level, but of course Switzerland is always very expensive..

No mosquito net. Old rooms with lots of mold. Breakfast very cheap quality.

Room was big and comfortable, and bathroom good. Staff were excellent, especially adjoining restaurant staff. Great location to walk to the centre or waterfront.

The halls, lift and reception areas look a little tired.
