Offering an beautiful countryside location, the family-run Hotel Auerhahn features traditional German cuisine, a garden with a terrace and a children’s playground. Bright, homelike rooms offer a TV and private bathroom. Characteristic dishes from the Holstein region are served in Hotel Auerhahn’s spacious restaurant, where a rich breakfast buffet is also prepared each morning. After dinner, guests can enjoy a drink at the traditional-style bar. The rooms are all individually furnished, and some offer a seating area. Ideal for a daytrip is Kiel city center, just 11 minutes’ drive from the hotel. Flintbeck Train Station is 5 mi away, and free on-site parking is also provided.

The proprietor was friendly and welcoming. It was spotlessly clean. There was a massive free car park. It's easy to find at night as the outside is well lit

Cons -

The restaurant was closed, but the proprietor was happy to recommend another local restaurant and it was fantastic.
The Hotel is closed untill 17.30, even in high season!!! Not a serious Hotel.
