It’s so clean, open and airy. The accommodations were so comfortable for us. Thank you to the woman at the desk, I’m sorry to have forgotten her name, but she was a wonderful hostess. Having wine on the terrace outside of our room was excellent after a long drive. We also ate at the restaurant and we cannot say enough good things about our meal. This was the best meal we ate on our travels through France. Everything was prepared perfectly, the chef is very talented. Everything was perfect!

    We loved everything.

We loved the location. Just a stroll to the Art museums on the main street, the bakery and a good choice a restaurants. Beautiful garden and quiet, calm surrounds.

    Everything was great.

Breakfast was good and location was great near to the forest of Fontainbleu

The pool area could have been better

Wonderful old hotel, full of history and charm. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely outdoor dining area. Food not bad and reasonably priced. Fabulous location to explore Barbizon itself and Fontainebleau. Good secure parking area at rear of hotel. Very good breakfast.

Our room was large but dark, easily fixed with more floor standing lights. Wi-Fi was fine in the main building but unreliable in the room we were in.

The location and pizzaria nearby are fantastic.

The staff or owners are inexperienced. The room was full of Mosquitoes and is was very dark. The restaurant was closed and the breakfast was substandard and way too expensive.

The dinner was very good- though service was slow, we waited a while for our plates (a family next to us with young kids waited over an hour!)

We booked a family suite but found out upon check-in that we needed to pay an extra 20€ to make up the sofa bed and another 20€ for the baby crib. What is the point of booking a family suite (which is already more expensive than a regular room) if you need to pay extra to use one of the beds?? Also, even with these surcharges, we weren’t given extra bath towels for our children. We had 2 towels for 4 people. Also, when we got to the pool, we found out there weren’t pool towels there. With young kids, it’s difficult to go all the way back to reception to request them. Thankfully, someone who worked there notified the manager, who brought them out to us.

The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and all at a reasonable price too.The room was clean and very quiet. Unfortunately, we did not have breakfast because we had to leave early to be on time for our ferry, but the smell of the croissants baking made us regret such an early start

    7ChristopherPosted on: 3-3-2024

    Comfortable bed. Nice staff.

We arrived to all the doors being locked and had to wait about 10 minutes to gain entry. The shower head didn’t attach to the wall so had to be held.

Very quiet and in a charming former artist colony. Very convenient to Fontainebleau.

    8RanPosted on: 10-15-2023

Charming village hotel with style and a serene garden. Right in the center of lovely Barbizon.

Room was a bit Spartan - no place to open a suitcase, old (unusable) furniture. My door lock was hard to lock.

    8NaquinPosted on: 10-15-2023

The breakfast was fine Loved the location and the town was very nice.

The tollite room needed a sink. The room while being very large need better lighting as it was a bit dark.

    7CatherinePosted on: 9-18-2023

We loved visiting Barbizon as my husband lived there as a small child. The hotel is charming, and the restaurant has delicious food. The staff was helpful even with our limited French.

Our room was very comfortable but we did have to climb stairs to reach it. On our last night we were woken up at 1:30 in the morning by a large group having a party directly under our window. You could even smell their cigarettes from our bathroom window. The party continued for over an hour and I was unable to sleep.

Lovely hotel building located in a beautiful town/village worth visiting. The restaurant is superb. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are in need of some TLC to bring them up to standard. Housekeeping needs greater supervision. Also, there is a lovely outdoor pool area but the paths approaching this need weeding and the gardens tending.
