- Hotel attractive, rooms a good size. Beds comfortable. Swimming pool lovely after a hot day. Convenient for ferry. We cycled to the beach which was close enough.

Cons -
- The receptionist who booked us in was fine, but the subsequent staff were very uninterested. We paid a lot for our room and we reported at least twice the bedside light was broken. I'm sure it's regularly reported but not a job for house-keeping so it's not repaired. The windows need cleaning. There was one tea bag of 3 flavours (non your usual) and 1 dried milk sachet for 2 peopleWhen I asked for a refill, we got 3 decaf coffee, and powdered milk. The evening meal in the restaurant was really poor value for money. The portion sizes were tiny. The dining room was short staffed so there was a long wait for service.
- Should of stayed longer
- If there had been tea/coffee making facilities in the room this place would have been perfect.

Tranquil setting. Accommodating staff. Comfortable room.
The Parador is a wonderful place to stay, comfortable, quiet and set in beautiful grounds. We had the half board option which was good value. The evening meal was amazing. I can thoroughly recommend it
We loved the grandeur of this place, impressive from without and within. Our room was spacious, comfortable, luxurious and scrupulously clean. The staff were welcoming and efficient Language wasn’t a problem as many staff spoke English and also there were menus in English. The food was of an excellent standard. Outside there was an attractive garden to enjoy as well as woodland walks.
If there had been tea/coffee making facilities in the room this place would have been perfect.
Service and meals good
Room small and not like pictures shown on booking. Rather poky compared with other Parador rooms we have stayed in.No complimentary water, Hairdryer didn’t work etcGenerally not to usual standards of these hotels.
Spacious room. Good location. Excellent food. Pleasant staff
The pool is at the bottom of the garden but was very clean.
Spotless clean and comfortable nice food great staff very helpful indoor garage too park all our classic jaguars very handy as it was a very wet night good value for money
Clean. Comfy bed lovely cotton sheets. Quiet.
I booked a double room and expect that if that is what I pay for it will be provided. I got a twin room and the member of staff could not change this as the hotel was full but I was not happy to be told that I did NOT book a double room. I showed her my booking bu t she was in concerned.
Beautiful building. Great rooms. Good service.
Location was good.
Staff were unimpressive - one tubby bearded chap in the restaurant needs training - just plonks food down without a smile and quality of food overall poor. Service was very slow - by far the worst Parador we have stayed in. The place is in a good setting but the grounds are poorly maintained with weeds etc. We stayed one night and that was too long :0)
Location. Spacious rooms. Gardens.Bed linen and towels.Dinner and breakfast both excellent.
Lack of staff at reception. Reception staff trying to check in guests and take phone calls at the same time.
Calming, elegant, large bedrooms - a good parador
Parking outside hotel restricted with around 10 places cordoned off so had to park at bottom of hill. Lack of sound insulation from 2nd floor room was disturning
Beautiful building, Beautiful location and grounds, Comfortable rooms, Nice swimming pool.

Fabulous peaceful location - used as a stopover for a couple of nights before returning to the UK from Bilbao in order to visit the Guggenheim. Facilities and grounds very beautiful and well maintained. Pool looked beautiful, although we did not use ourselves. Service excellent throughout and restaurant experience very enjoyable.
The room was nice. An interesting building and location.
There was no space for our car in the secure parking. The reception was not very welcoming.
Very nice room with huge window overlooking woodland, very quiet big room with comfortable seats in the window, good secure parking in a garage at extra charge. Handy for the Santander Ferry.
Staff were pretty unhelpful throughout, maybe there were just not enough of them. We waited ages to be served in the bar, they have a bell system, which was rung by us and several other potential customers, but it took ages for anyone to come (about 40mins) and when they did arrive they proceeded to re-fill shelves rather than ask what people wanted, they had lots of people waiting. Some of the Restaurant staff seemed ok, but the guy who served us did not speak, and looked miserable, like he really didn't want to be there, he made us feel quite uncomfortable, so although the food was nice we didnt enjoy the experience. The gardens looked like they may have been great once, but now seem tired and unloved. we stayed in 3 other Paradors during our tour, all the others were lovely, this one was poor and expensive in comparison. Shame as it was the last night of our holiday.
Comfortable pillows
Internet kept dropping out.Landscape isa messConfusion about parking
Location.Friendly staff
Reception/bar area: lovely large area with unsuitable, huge, uncomfortable sofas and chairs. Too few outdated dining chairs and tables. Too few seats for the guests.Dining: They forgot our Main Course!. The scallops were burnt which affected the taste. The cod was tough.Habitaciones: They were cold. Heating/air con did not work. We had to ask for extra blankets.Bathroom: outdated. Shower fittings very poor, toilet functions not all working. Needs to be replaced with walk in shower.Garden outside dining room: unkept. Needs a lot of attention.Overall: decor, furniture, habitaciones and bathrooms dated and an overall refurbishment is urgently required.
