Hotel Parang

Excellent location. Free parking although it s small and busy we managed to find a spot everyday. It s an old communist hotel that s been partially refurbished and exceed my expectation in both comfort and value for money. We had dinner twice and food was good. Not many choices for breakfast. Bathroom is small but functional. Room is clean and very quiet. Overall a good experience. Lady from reception was very helpful and friendly. Olanesti is nice area and parks are very clean.

More parking spaces rented from council might help. We rented rooms from booking.com but we find out there that bigger options were available but not advs on booking. If I know I would have rented these next time would try call reception for details.

That the staff of the hotel weren't wearing masks and neither the other guest. And nobody told them to wear masks.The walls are super thin and we could hear the guset in the other room super loud.

The location is good, close to the central park and almost everything else you might need in Olanesti.We stayed in the renovated section of the hotel. The room was modern, with new furniture and new carpets. The mini fridge is in the room was great for drinks as the temperatures outside were quite high.

The parking lot in front of the hotel is far from sufficient for all rooms/guests. You have the option to leave your car on the sidewalk or there is a paid parking about 5-10 minutes walking distance from there. Not ideal if you have luggage.When we arrived at the front desk, it took us about 40 minutes to go through the whole check-in process, with only 2 other couples in front of us. Although we booked our stay online, we had to fill in most of the information again, for accommodation and GDPR, for each of the guests. My GDPR form had e-mail conversations with other clients/bookings printed on the back. That is not the best way to reduce paper waste.We received (!)printed breakfast vouchers at the reception desk for the next morning. This was maybe one of the reasons the check-in process is such time consuming, not to mention the waste of paper. There should really be a better system in place to handle this. I do hope this was just temporary because of the pandemics, and no breakfast buffets being allowed.There were 5 options for breakfast to choose from, which should cover most of the preferences one might have. However, the quality of the food could definitely use some improvements. We asked for two different options, but for both we ended up eating only the freshly cooked items - fried egg and omelet. The room was renovated, clean sheets, clean towels. But the furniture could have used some dusting and the bathroom was also not properly cleaned. Interacting with the reception personal and the cleaning personal on the floor was not the best experience. You felt like you are bothering them / intruding. Although there are signs with masks being required in hotel common areas, not all guests choose to wear them. This did not feel very comfortable especially when using the elevators together with other people. Perhaps the personnel could pay closer attention and enforce the regulations.

The location, in the centre of the city, the room was clean.

I didn't like that there was no hot water. A part of the hotel is very old and needs improving. The breakfast was really light, we were still hungry after it.

We stayed here because it had a restaurant as well, so we had a place where we could eat, and we even asked about it at the reception and they confirmed this. But at dinner time, we went to the restaurant and we were not served because they were having a private event. The room was pretty small, and sometimes we did not have hot water. Also, the included breakfast is very very small. Not worth it.
