- The room was special. I felt relaxed the moment I stepped in--attention was put into making the place special: beautiful tiles and fixures in the bath, great shower--the room was cozy, comfortable and very tastefully designed--loved the ceramic cat on the shelf! The bed was spacious and comfortable. Also loved the sliding door onto my own private garden. The hotel is also very peaceful and quiet in a beautiful location with a view of the mountains. Very helpful and curteous staff.Hope to be back again soon for a longer stay! Julia

The Hotel Alaia was a perfect stopover on our journey from the UK to Southern Spain. It wasn't far from the motorway in a small village in the pyrenees. Our room opened on to the garden/parking area which was very convenient as we had our dog with us. The kitchen facilities meant we could cook our own food. The buffet breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay again.
Everything perfect. The staff member was great. Location amazing, room fantastic. Breakfast perfect.
Nothing except the weather.
The area and facility being near places we wanted to see
The shutters was loose and banging during the night, which distrub our sleep ,
Facilities all ok place was clean, comfortable bed
Not a lot of space .... restricted movements had to be made by both of us suggest single accomodation rating I very small table and 1 flimsy/Wonky table chairBearing in mind the the above the additional price for the dog (Cocker Spaniel) €8.50 per night was thought excessive.
Beautiful Basque building, very modern, clean , spacious & dog friendly.
Great characterful property with modern touch. Comfortable bedroom & very welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast & very comfortable.
WiFi not great.
Free parking. Clean. Friendly reception.
We were in a loft room up 2 flights of stairs, on the outside of the building.
Clean, comfortable bed, easy to park.
The noise coming from the wooden floor of the bedroom just above ours.
Bedroom lovely and cool plus the bed very comfortable
Stairs to our bedroom, I’m not sure if there were ground Floor bedrooms, I should have asked The Lady on reception was very pleasant and helpful and we were tired after our journey from Spain
The hotel room in the partner hotel was good.
The hotel room in the main hotel was small, smelly (smelt of damp) and the fridge was extremely loud. Not good value for money. The shower is inside the bedroom too.
Big room and very clean. Could lick and charge our e-bikes downstairs. Wandered in to the centre for a lovely meal and watched some handball. Lovely experience
Quaint place, huge room and bathroom, comfy bed
Check in being closed from 12-4 could be awkward for some people, but the owners are more than happy for you to leave your bags if you arrive before 12.
Welcoming ambiance (our acceptance enhanced perhaps as I wore an old Basque beret). Attractive road walks and splendid local restaurant. Fine breakfast
The immediate surroundings were unimpressive. Chairs not adequate for reading.
Location was excellent and receptionist very helpfull
A little to warm for me but I’m sure most people would be very pleased as it was a very very cold winters night
The place and location is nice.
To stay one night you spend it cleaning the place to be able to stay comfortable. As it depends how clean the previous guests left the place you can find unpleasant surprise, like a mug of spoiled milk inside the microwave. So you have to clean the place twice, when you arrive and before you leave. Unfortunately we couldn't do nothing with the stains in the bed sheets.
The rooms were comfortable and perfect for our family. The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect, right in the heart of the town. We were able to park our car right outside the door of our room. We only stayed for one night.
Ascain is lovely with good facilities. Quiet location and very clean apartment. Ground floor made it very easy with our two dogs. Nice outside space with a table and chairs. King size bed.
We are staying in apartments throughout our tour of France. This was described as a one bedroom apartment. There was no sofa just two hard kitchen chairs at the small kitchen table. The tv was in the bedroom so nowhere comfortable to sit and relax during our 5 nights there. The kitchen area consisted of a sink next to a one ring hob with no workspace to prepare food. Pots and pans were provided but it was very difficult to cook a meal. Mosquitoes were a big issue so you couldn’t sit outside or have the door open although this was no fault of the hotel.
