    Pros +

    • Location was very good. Centrally located. Bed was very comfortable. Facilities were good. Quite okay value for money in a holiday location.
    • Location, it is upstairs, river front, quiet. Parking onsite, a large lounge room, 6 seats for dining table, large TV with Netflix program. spilt system aircond in room
    • The room was clean and comfortable.

    Cons -

    • Water leaked in the front entrance of the apartment, the carpet was soaking wet, smell like cat pissed, I threw up twice. Told the staff at RSL about it, someone did come to see it and told me 3 times they will come dry the carpet, but past 9 pm no one came, they gave me 1 towel with holes through it to put over the carpet. This render the entire lounge room un-useable due to the smell. The front staff both male and female were pretty rude to me as well. No compensation, no follow up, not even bring some more towel to cover the smell. I also asked them do I need to buy a small heater if the last room has heating, they said yes, but it was no, the only heat is the aircond in the loungeroom, which does not travel down the hallway to the last bedroom. So we had to buy a small space heater from the miter 10 hardware store for $35 which used for 1 night and then never work again. Its a lovely town, with pretty much nothing to eat after 7:30 pm. Very lucky we were only there for 1 night and never ever in my lifetime have to visit there again. I highly would not recommended this place. Its cheap, and bad service, thats what it is. Period.
    • The wifi was unavailable as it was not set up properly.- the setup had not been completed. Could not connect or access and password access not completed. Staff reset the modem but didn't understand what we were saying . Most experienced travelers are used to wifi issues and don't bother. I am over it and now complain.
    • a small table near the lounge would have been nice as it would have provided somewhere to put my cuppa and sandwich. it was too cold to sit outside to eat.

Lovely spot on the waterfront and right opposite the RSL

It is noisy when people walk about upstairs.

Sussex Shores offers decent accommodation that’s great value for money. While the unit is a bit dated, it has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. It’s especially well-suited for families with kids, thanks to the excellent outdoor spaces and a wide range of activities to keep little ones entertained. A solid choice for a laid-back, family-friendly getaway.

The unit felt a bit old and could use some modern updates, but it didn’t take away from the overall comfort and convenience.

    Updated bathroom bed was comfortable

Felt privacy was compromised as blind was missing and you can easily here people above us walking around and talking to late at night

    8LesleyPosted on: 4-15-2025

bed quite comfortable, location of unit excellent, size of unit for one night ok, bit small if staying longer

unit a bit noisy from the people above

Spotless bathroom, extra comfortable bed, great location!

Having to leave after our nights stay!

    10DonnaPosted on: 4-2-2025

Great location, clean, comfy bed, has everything you need . Can easily walk to places for dinner , club across the road.

There was only 1 bed lamp. Very limited water view due to the growth of the garden. (depending on your room )

Location is great, great views of the water, quiet.

The carpet is quite a mess, very dirty, could do with replacing

    5AndrinaPosted on: 3-16-2025

Ground floor was convenient. Could see the water.

Apartment was a bit shabby, parts of the walls were unpainted where things had been moved. Furniture was a mish mash. Felt like a bit of a cave. No adjust of the light in the lounge room, either on and very bright or off and very dark. Kitchenette was very small, hardly enough room to put the toaster and kettle on the sink.

    7TimPosted on: 3-10-2025

We stayed in unit 3. The king size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was recently renovated and well done however the mirror needs to be bigger and fixed to the wall. The only window in the bathroom needs to open. Aircon was good. Fridge/microwave/ kettle/toaster all newish. You can't knock the position, excellent location. RSL Club across the street.

All the windows vertical blinds were broken and need replacing with blackout curtains. Walking up and down the two flights of stairs without solid handrails needs to be fixed. Hairdryer was broken. TV needs to be bigger (looks like the remote control was taken from the RSL across the road). Basically the room needs a refurb. The bathroom sliding door needs repairs. The bathroom light switch needs to be relocated inside the bathroom and a seperate fan/light switch installed. RSL Club noisy at times.

Very comfortable bed and cosy room. With updated amenities inside yet the old rustic signs otherwise. A nice combination of old and new together.

There was nothing I did not like.

    9RonPosted on: 2-25-2025

Great sized room with an excellent location

Room probably needs a little maintenance. Window hard to open, blinds need replacing
