Cleanliness
Location in relation to main road. Extremely noisy traffic.
This is a luxurious, beautiful hotel. Our room had an outside patio overlooking the pool and the passing monkeys. The restaurant provided a delicious breakfast.
The central location, style and set up
Too many stairs but worth the views
Really nice hotel with vintage furnitures and great view to the ocean. Room was big and comfy , really nice balcony. We had rain so we didn't tried the pool but it seems nice. Breakfast was really good.
Restaurant is really expensive and fancy, we ate lunch and dinner outside the hotel.
Grounds beautiful well maintained. Hotel attention to details clean pretty. Breakfast buffet wonderful. Staff engaging and helpful. Pool fantastic.
Room was good size pretty and well stocked BUT. SMELLED MUSTY.
Location was good and beautiful although entry from the direction of Uvita was difficult and dangerous at night.
Creepy angel heads all around (I suppose it is supposed to be kitchy), trying to enter when raining was dangerous and hassle with steep wet slippery stairs and no offer to help with bags. Rooms and strangely the bathroom sink were dated and damaged.
Beautifully located, quiet, clean, really cool angel theme, and a lovely swimming pool.
Beautiful property and well maintained. Nature all around, great view and location. Staff very helpful. Marko our waiter was super professional and helped with any wish. Beautiful restaurant
The cocktails did not live up to our expectation, the breakfast buffet is simple but ok
Beautifully maintained and very attractive inside and out.Close to the road, which was convenient as met up with family, but didn't seem noisy.
Would have liked a simple option on dinner menu. With lots of travelling food can be too rich.
The restaurant and the servers are the best part of this place and is why we booked here. Carla and Andres were incredible servers and were always doing everything they could to ensure we enjoyed our meals. Being celiac the 100% gluten free menu was a treat! It was so nice to be able to look at the menu and order anything. Even my partner who isn’t celiac said the food was very good. The reception staff and housekeepers were also very nice and did a great job cleaning. The views were very beautiful during the day.
The manager of the property was less than accommodating and rude. If you’re not in your room by 10 there is always someone watching over you, and at times made us feel a bit criminal. Our air conditioning didn’t work great, we asked for it to be fixed twice, and there was almost no effort into looking into it. It never improved, and there is no blanket given on the bed, suggesting this might not be entirely out of the norm. The couch is anything but comfortable, the bed is average. The pool was smaller in person than it appeared in photos, but was a decent little pool. However, there were only 6 lounge chairs which are typically taken at the beginning of the day so we ended up sitting on foldable plastic table chairs by the pool. This might be a matter of taste, but the rooms and common areas were very dimly lit. In addition to the dated decor, there were few places that felt inviting or enjoyable to relax in after dark (6-7pm). If you are a night person, this may be something you want to consider.
It’s was nicely kept and clean
The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and the bed sheets kept coming off the bed.
I liked The concept. Minus the guard everyone else were friendly
The pools is small and the food was not good. Not enough variety. After a 2 day stayed you tried what you liked and there is not snacks menú for the pool. We arrived after 10 pm and we were received by an unattentive and rude guard is not the best way to start your vacations.
Property was beautiful. Nice big pool. iguanas and birds on the property. staff is very friendly
beautiful large pool, just the right temperature. grounds are well kept.
The grounds are gorgeous and room is comfortable with excellent style. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Felt quiet, relaxed and safe
Restaurant a bit pricey. No other complaints!
The maid service was great!
The staff could improve their customer service. The room was clean, but dark and outdated.
We liked just about everything. The grounds were very well kept, the staff were beyond excellent, our room was comfortable and clean. The room had an espresso pod machine. The bathroom products from Raw Botanical smelled and felt so amazing that we're going to try and buy some for ourselves! The infinity pool was great. We saw a whole group of Capuchin Monkeys in the late morning from the pool one day. The restaurant at this place is a dream come true for a person with celiac disease! The included breakfast was great, the lunch and dinner menus had us excited every day to try something new, and the prices were surprisingly excellent considering some of the expat owned restaurants in the surrounding areas. We ate here every meal every day during our stay without regret. It was amazing not to have to even mention needing GF accommodation. The staff don't even bring outside food into the resort to maintain their 100% GF kitchen.I also have to mention the server Warner, he was an absolute gem who made our stay with his enthusiasm and how earnestly happy he was to be there talking with us and making sure we had a great time.
The grounds were somewhat small. They do offer many tours and a spa however, and they were great about arranging a taxi for us. I'd recommend having a car here for day trips, but we got on well with taxis.
Nice view. Great dinner
What could have been a tranquil location is unfortunately completely overshadowed by all the traffic noise from the main road. Even with ear plugs the noise from the lorries struggling up and down the hill on both sides of the hotel was loud. Owners seem to have done nothing to block/minimise the noise like noice fences or simple sound proofing around hotel room door. There’s also a constant humming noise from the swimming pool pump which could probably have easily been avoided by the owners making it possible to close the door to the pump house. Also expect the restaurant bill to be high if you have dinner here - although admittedly it’s good food
