Pros +
- The whole place is in excellent condition. The staff is wonderful. They upgraded us to a giant room with a marble floor. I awoke in the middle of the night to use our bathroom. I felt like a Duke. Great steam room, and many hot springs. The breakfast has everything and more.Super classy
- Love the hotel’s Italian charm and spa facilities. Breakfast and dinner were amazing too. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- The bed was comfortable and staff was very nice
Cons -
- Do not expect super hot water. We ate at their restaurant for dinner.I would not do that again..30 euros for their Monkfish. It was served on a big plate with small pieces of the fish in the middle. To posh for me.My advice is to skip dinner and get hungry for their incredible breakfast.
- Bed was too hard and pillows not that comfortable
- Being that it is in a very old building they need to do proper remodel before opening this place to guests, especially as a 5 star hotel... Many halls reek of mold, even the spa areas. Black mold inside our rooms air conditioner that we didn’t see until right before we checked out. Explains the sneezing and headaches all night. Overall not up to our expectations. The waiter at the pool came around to ask us if we wanted drinks with no menu so we had no idea we were going to pay nearly 20 euro for a crappy cocktail. Wow, disappointing

Thermal spa
The temperature in the room, +30. AC was not at all efficient. Making noises and not cooling the room.
Staff: The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Bed: A nice big bed.
Location: If you don't have a car then don't stay here as the village has zero to do in it.Spa: Old, Smells like sewage and the massage I received was the worst I've ever experienced!Facilities: The aircon doesn't operate in May which led to no sleep at night as the room was very warm. They gave us a fan but due to noise you couldn't leave it on while trying to sleep. The main corridor, outside the bedrooms, has a piano in it which other guests feel compelled to play both early in the morning and late at night.Bedding: Pillows are awful.
Historical, authentic, lovely spa facilities, wonderful staff
The pools
The strong plug in scents where so bad I had to walk in the parking lot instead of the hotel to go from pool to pool. I used to sell scent air. You only need one for the whole lobby area. Who ever sold you that many is ripping you off and making your guest unhappy.
Front desk staff were exceptional, very welcoming and super attentive. We had a pleasant stay, however
The male receptionist at the Spa when I came in for my schedule appointment at 3pm was extremely rude and unprofessional,he absolutely ruined my experience at the spa, but thanks to Daniele for the wonderful massage that helped me relax a bit after my horrible encounter with the male spa receptionist.
The place is beautiful and very kid friendly. Kids could join us for all the pools and some of the spa activities, they even got kids’ size bath robes. Check out was late and enabled more time in the pools in the morning and breakfast was good. Staff are all extremely friendly.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel, especially its fantastic location. For a family of four (two adults and two kids), I highly recommend booking a Junior Suite. The facilities were beautiful and offered a relaxing atmosphere. While the spa area was pleasant, it wasn't particularly child-friendly and could use some improvements in cleanliness. Although children are allowed in the spa, it feels more suited for adults. The hotel does have a slightly outdated charm, but the rooms are very comfortable. We also loved the bar—our bartender was incredibly polite and crafted some of the best drinks we've ever had. Overall, it was a delightful experience!
The room was spacious and comfortable, the hotel itself is very large with a lot to offer, and the facilities were great. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the breakfast was a real highlight – delicious and with plenty of variety.
While the hotel does have an older charm to it, and some areas could benefit from a little extra attention – particularly the spa facilities in terms of cleanliness.
The woman working on reception and matteo who works in the bar are exceptional members of staff, friendly, welcoming and attentive. The hotel is beautiful, comfortable and clean.
The spa facilities seemed a bit out dated and need a bit of an upgrade
A truly charming hotel with a soul. You can feel the care and attention to detail in every corner, and the staff fully lives up to the 5-star standard – professional, warm, and attentive. We chose this place for the spa experience, and it absolutely delivered. There are numerous pools with natural thermal waters and a wide variety of treatments. Everything was thoughtfully designed for relaxation and well-being. A memorable stay we’d love to repeat.
As the hotel was fully booked, we were given a room with no exterior windows – just one facing the interior corridor. Unfortunately, this meant we were woken up early in the morning by the sound of vacuuming and other hallway noise. It’s worth checking the room type in advance to ensure a more peaceful stay.
Very nice staff, majestic building, nice spa area.
Attentive staff,Clean and luxuriousFood was incredible as was the breakfast buffet
Nice staff. Ok breakfast. Comfy bed
Faded glory. Could be nice if cleaned thoroughly. Spa smells of wet dog. No temperature control in bedroom. Phone rang in middle of the night
Excellent spaVery good foodNice staff especially in the restaurant
Interesting building, you feel like in Thomas Mann’s Magic Mountain. Very original. Nice and helpful staff.
- first room proposed (141) was almost underground, no natural light.- amenities do not match 5* or « palace » standards.- pools would need a refreshment.- the natural setting and village are not especially pretty.- restaurant was very expensive.- the whole stay was fine but not worth the price.
Incredible staff, incredible location, incredible views, incredible room. Everything was incredible. 100/10, would absolutely return. We went to the spa and had the most relaxing time. And to top off the already phenomenal place, it’s very dog friendly. Even a bed and bowls provided for the two of them. Can definitely recommend!
Absolutely nothing, it was flawless.
We enjoyed the spa and the thermal waters every day of our stay. The restaurant was delicious. The location was perfect
We ask for a tea kettle for our room. The staff look at us like we were crazy but said they would see what they could do. No tea kettle ever arrived. Interestingly, ever other place we stayed in Italy had tea kettles in the room.
