    Pros +

    • Beautiful property. Beautiful rooms and friendly staff. You can get to pompei or Naples by train. You are also 2 minutes away from Ercolano ruins. Highly recommend the suite! Breath taking ! If you need a good restaurant nearby I recommend the golden mile
    • This place is a beautiful dream that you won't want to wake up from. Beautiful and historic structure with a perfect garden, incredibly kind and helpful multilingual staff, and excellent food. Very convenient to Reggia Portici, the port, and Ercolano Scavi.
    • The extremely friendly, helpful, and young staff made all the difference! Thumbs up. Gorgeous villa with beautiful garden filled with scent of lemon flowers. Fantastic terrace with full view of the Golfo.

    Cons -

    • Ants in the room
    • Really, everything was perfect. I am excited to return.
    • The first standard room we were given, was on the top floor. It seemed like the attic had been renovated to make rooms but there was no window! I am not generally claustrophobic, but a room without a window is a no-go. Seems odd to me that that is considered 'standard'! However, when I went back to the front desk, they offered another room, on the other side of the property with a walk out to a small patio. This was much better. The bed was awful. The corners pointed up while the rest of the bed (sides and middle) sagged.Dining rooms seemed under a state of renovation.

Nice grounds. Close to Herculaneum. Good breakfast. Nice service at dinner. Very helpful checkin staff. Toasty warm bathroom with heated floors and towel warmer. Quiet room.

Beautiful view and quiet area. Big, green park around the building. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice neighborhood, restaurants and natural attractions are nearby.

There was an issue with hot water supply but finally the staff managed to solve the problem.

The linen was of good quality, the beds comfortable and the water was hot. The place was clean. The staff at reception were kind and helpful.

There were many things that were broken, like curtain closures and basin taps. The rooms were not done during the day, and so I had to ask for toilet tissue and a refill of the mini bar. The food in the restaurant was no better than an Italian motorway service cafe. The villa and garden were potentially beautiful, but it was obvious that no one in leadership really cared. So some of the decor, like light fixtures, seating, pictures and other decor, was awful. For instance, they had decorated the garden with some decorative lighting that looked like upturned bowls of twinkling spaghetti dribbling from the pergolas. A pity.

The hotel itself is beautiful, really well done. The grounds were well kept and pleasant to walk around in. The room was huge, with very high vaulted and painted ceilings. Large bathroom / sitting room. Giant doors, a very large private terrace with an amazing view of the sea and the grounds. The room was kept at a very comfortable temperature also. It's a short walk to Herculaneum, and there are some nice restaurants within a 10-20 minute walk as well. Amazing staff, always went above and beyond.

We ate dinner at the restaurant on our first night, it was rather disappointing. Service was great, but all of the food came out cold (food which should have been hot). Breakfast was also a bit underwhelming, but I think it's just typical Italian breakfast. The actual food items were of good quality.

The gracious room which was well appointed and worked.

It was further from Herculaneum than I had hoped. But just manageable.

good parking, breakfast was good, bacon to salty, nice staff. had a good meal in the evening, staff was pretty slow serving not very good at being attentive had to call her over a lot.

room no window up in the loft ? the sink was blocked ? No tea making facilities very annoying for a English man.

    5DonnaPosted on: 10-1-2024

The pool, the building itself (despite poor state of repair), pool attendant and restaurant staff. Interior of building upstairs (albeit we were outside in a bungalow).

Breakfast food, outdoor seating area (muddy grass area), untidiness in general around the property (back of pool area, lower area beside marquees), squint garden light upstands/supports, fireworks at events (at midnight one night) with no notice given this was going to happen.

    5MichaelPosted on: 10-1-2024

The room itself was great with the historical reference, size, parking facilities were good and the general nature and style of the hotel was excellent. The staff were pleasant and helpful working the best with what they have been given.

The facility needs some considerable investment to bring it up to a four star standard. It is tired and lacks the investment needed. Some general maintenance on a daily basis would significantly help. To identify as a four star hotel when you cannot even gain a cup of milk or any tea outside restaurant hours is laughable, The food selection at the pool during the day was limited and poor.

Not worth the price. Staff very rude. Think the management is poor. Pass away.

The old style of the property

    9DebbiePosted on: 9-28-2024

A lot of old style charm. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. Staff were really helpful too

    Wasn’t anything that I didn’t like.

    9johnPosted on: 9-27-2024

Beautiful room, great view of Vesuvius. Very comfy bed. Bathroom good.

A bit disorganised when we turned up and had to move room because of a mix up. Both rooms were great.

    10HelenePosted on: 9-23-2024

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. It was a great stay. Very large room, comfy bed. Lots of space.

The front door was not very much convenient. It took me a while to understand how to get it opened.

    9MichaelPosted on: 9-18-2024

Beautiful period building with huge vaulted ceilings and luxury furnishings. Great breakfast selection and service. Good location right next to Herculaneum and train stations, market. Pool is lovely though got a bit crowded. All very reasonably priced at peak season!

Ground floor room facing the street got a bit noisy when a coach was parked outside.

    7JulianPosted on: 8-30-2024

Beautiful rustic period hotel. Set between Naples and Pompeii with easy access to Herculaneum, Sorrento and other Bay of Naples locations

If you like your hotel to have all the modern facilities this isn’t it. The age and history of the hotel is part of the charm, but not for everyone. Food was fine, but not special

    9CarloPosted on: 8-17-2024

The room was spacious and the breakfast was good

The picture on the site is a bit deceptive

    8AntoniPosted on: 8-17-2024

It was a nice stay. It is a nice Accommodation and the pool is great. The staff was great and very friendly.

We could hear the room neighbours at the WC.⁷
