    Pros +

    • Pool was decent in the first day. A shit was floating in there for the next 3 days
    • room was outdated but quite comfortable, the pillows and mattress were very comfy.
    • - staff were wonderful, went above and beyond to help us- food were very good and changed on a daily basis- the adult pool were great, very quiet and nice atmosphere- the spa were nice and peaceful- very clean everywhere- bed amazingly comfortable- the classes included are very good- easy parking available on the street (no need to pay)Basically there are two hotels together, Luna Park (3 stars) and Luna Club (4 stars), the only thing that changes are the rooms. As you can access both amenities any time.

    Cons -

    • Windows scrued in, broken doors, prison beads, the balcony door not secure for kids at all
    • the hotel needs a little bit of TCL, a lot of walls need painting or are chipped. There was only one person in the pool bar so it took about 15 min to get my drink ordered.
    • - smoking everywhere... it says in the description that there is a designated smoking area, well... the whole hotel is the smoking area. Outside on the room terrace I had two neighbours (each side) smoking all day. At the pool: people smoking non stop and the lounge chairs were too close to each other to have fresh air. At the bar: people smokes in all tables.... There is no escape from smokers.- the bar could offer some snacks in between meals, they only offer crepes

    Pools were good

Room was in poor condition. Breakfast hall and food were average. The hotel was advertised as a health spa but when I asked to use the spa facilities they tried to charge me 30 euros even though I thought was included. On the last day before leaving I packed my car, checked out room, and asked to borrow a towel for a few hours by pool and they tried to charge me for that too.. Also pictures from hotel made it lol like it was ok the beach but it was no way near beach. Overalll was pretty average considering price I paid

The pools and the pool bar area are amazing

They close the bar at midnight and turn all the lights off. No frigobar in the room.

    8IrenePosted on: 9-11-2024

The bar area and the pool.

The rooms were tired and could do with a revamp to match the rest of the hotel.

The facilities and location was great

    Food service a bit slow

    9EvaPosted on: 8-29-2024

Big but not too big. Good atmosphere. Buffet was fantastic! Although the acoustic in the restaurant was quite noisy.

The cleaning of the room was not so good.

    2EmiPosted on: 8-23-2024

The staff was very nice, comprehensive and polite. Everything was clean and the food was appreciable.

There was a giant stage with a very loud concert right next to the hotel. For 3 nights, the noise was so loud that we couldn't sleep before 11.30pm or even 1.30am ! Even with earplugs... No solution was found by the direction. That was very disappointing, especially since the hotel is supposed to be in a 'slow travel' mood. We wouldn't have chosen this hotel if we would have been aware of the event.

The Hotel is at the edge of the village of Malgrat in a rather quiet area a littlest further from the beach. But the walk is not to far and keeps you in shape ;-) The hotel has good facilities and is kept very clean, staff is very friendly. We took half board. The food is of a very good standard and staff is very friendly. The spa area is very nice and several Yoga lessons are available every day during several different hours. Also the gym is accessible for free where you can run, bike and use weights. There is a 18+ area with swimming pool, but the other family area is also very nice and has a large pool so it is never very overcrowded. There are always enough sun beds even in high season. So no getting up early to claim your seat at the pool (this is very nice). The beach is not to far away and clean. The sea water is instantly deep around 2m. We had a nice room with a view over the swimming pool and sea, it is cleaned every day and towels are changed every day … bedlinen is not, but you probably don't do this at home to. We were with 4 persons and got 2 rooms next to each other which was very nice. The beach is not sandy but rather very small stones. There are some nice beaches (also not sandy) with small cliffs in the neighboring villages like Blanes. We went with the car so we also went to Barcelona for a day… don’t forget your environmental vignette! ?

Unfortunately we were not informed about some things. For instance that you can get bath towels to use ar the pool for a deposit of 20€ which you get back at the end of your stay. The swimming pool is very strict with pool attributes. They are not allowed even not in the family pool area. So no throwing with a small ball for instance. No poolside toilet. The nice white sunbeds you see on the photo’s are payed and cost 20€ a day. Unfortunately the rooms are somewhat small and furniture is dated and looks degraded … thats a pity because te cleaning crew does such a good job. We stayed in room 505 and 507. The pictures are taken in room 505. The other room was in better shape. We did say something about it at the front desk but they could't do anything. The hotel was fully booked and we wanted two rooms next to each other. The sound isolation of the rooms is OK but not very good. I believe they should get a total make over to claim the three and four star status. The air-conditioning is very good. It broke down one day at our floor but was fixed within a couple of hours. The private parking costs 22€ a day in stead of 20€ which was advertised on booking. This is very expensive and should be included. There is a large and free parking area next to and right behind the parking of the hotel. So if you're lucky, in high season, like we were you can still always park close by. The fact you can use the spa area only once is a pity. Malgrat itself is also stuck in time.. it didn’t evolve… this is the main reason we will probably not return there. The hotel also hosts young peoples traveling. So there were a lot of 17 to 20 year old youngsters who behaved very nice by the way!

Beds were super comfy, staff was kind, calm yet family friendly. Location was good. Breakfast was nice, had many options and was of decent quality.

Thin walls: next room neighbours had the TV on until 3.30 AM (which was probably fixed on the wall behind our bed): we could hear everything which led us to not be able to sleep well for 3/5 nights. Also, any noise in the corridors was heard from within the rooms. No plug outlets worked during the day in the common spaces.Had to pay a 20 EUR deposit every time we had to borrow the iron. I suppose there was a good reason for it, but still a little annoying.

Best pool in the area. Free yoga and meditation classes. Nice atmosphere. Live music one night. Good value for money. Beautiful and not so crowded beach 7 minutes walk away.

At first we were given the hotel’s worst room under the roof at 7th floor (no elevator, older and bad cooling and insufficient fire escape). But when we asked next morning, they moved us to a fine room at 2nd floor.

Generally it was very good, Pool is clean, breakfast and dinner are very reach and available , Beach is 300m far away from Hotel.

Rooms needs to be more isolated and cleaned,

Cleanliness everywhere, the pools and comfy beds with A.C

    Could me more sun umbrellas

    7VirginiePosted on: 8-1-2024

The adult pool was nice, large breakfast choices available.

The staff at the reception during the day looked like they were annoyed when we came for some information at the desk as if we were disturbing them.

    8KellyPosted on: 7-24-2024

Clean and friendly staff. Rooms were a good size and pools were lovely

No ball games in either pool and paying for parking

    9PernillaPosted on: 7-17-2024

All but one in the staff was very nice, more than general I'd say. I wasn't happy with the first room we got and the staff changed the room for us rapidly and very nicely. The pool area is divided into two areas, one for over 18 and one for everyone. I really appreciated this as this gave an opportunity to a very calm area. I tried four yoga classes and they were a great complement to the vacation. I tried both in the yoga room, an excursion on bike to a park to yoga there, and also yoga on the beach. This gave me a lot of energy and a nice touch to the vacation. The staff at the bar, the reception, the cleaning and the yoga were all very great! Everyone was helpful with questions I had. The beds were comfortable.

There was one person in the breakfast room that does not know how to communicate with clients. She should learn from all her wonderful colleagues in the hotel.

    9KellyPosted on: 7-15-2024

Our balcony overlooked the larger pool and the sea was also visible. Very nice size to sit and chill. The breakfast was so well organised and had different options each morning which was really nice.

POOL/BAR AREA: Really nice, big pool. The bar outside by the pool is the best and the staff there are really friendly and excellent customer service. The only part of the staff that actually saved the whole experience in this hotel. The barman was actually super nice and friendly, kuddos! The only area of the hotel I really liked and which saved the whole stay. There are 2 pool areas, one for adults only which was always very busy so we always stayed at the familiy zone which was less crowded. RECEPTION: Nice and refurbished. Staff not so friendly but OK.BREAKFAST: Even thoug the staff is CONSTANTLY rushing you to leave the restaurant, the food at breakfast was very good. Worth putting up with their unfriendly faces. DINNER: The dinner was OK but for 24 euro buffet you can't ask for more. Staff made it a bad experience rushing us and not wanting to serve us coffee at the end because they wanted to clean and leave early, they literally said this and "invited" us to go to the bar upstairs and pay for our coffee, even though we already had paid the menu for the buffet. They are not empathetic and do not care if you are told that restaurant open hour is until 10, they just say they do not care and want to leave at 10 so very unpleasant.SURROUNDINGS: Not a pro but not a con. The hotel is surrounded by parking lots and a monster truck race area that is super loud so you will sleep to the sound of monster trucks racing. Views are not nice, even if you have a room with a balcony, the view to the pool hotel area is nice then all the surroundings are horrible ?. The boardwalk is 5 min walk away, with a lot of little stores and restaurants, vividly at night. Big game zones for kids. All very touristic and loud, however I like shops so I enjoyed it. Not nice if you are looking for something relaxing or peaceful.

ROOMS: Everything inside the bedroom is old, in bad shape and tacky. You feel you are inside a cheap motel. The walls are so thin you can hear EVERYTHING from all the rooms that surround you. This is not an exaggeration. There are lots of teenagers and families with small kids, it is LOUD. The floor tiles, wall paint and furniture, old and bad shape. Even the hall is tacky. You get nothing but cheap towels, and an old soap dispenser with cheap liquid sope inside. No fridge to keep drinks or anything inside the room. Cleaning lady comes in at 10 even though you are inside the room. RESTAURANT: Either they have to change the schedules they give out to guests or pay the staff an extra hour to clean. The staff was rushing us ALL the time. We bought dinner tickets at 9 because they told us dinner was served until 10. I specifically asked her if 10 was the time they closed and she said NO, that 10 is when they stop letting people come in but we could of course stay afterwards. This was a lie. All the staff were rushing us and even annoyed when they saw us come in at that hour. They kept coming to our table telling us to please hurry up because they wanted to leave at 10 sharp, REFUSED to serve us coffee at the end when we had already paid for it. HORRIBLE experience. And breakfast even worse. They guy serving the pancakes ranting at me because I was trying to get a pancake 15 mins before the supposed end of breakfast time. He gave me life advise on why I should wake up earlier, and complaining he had to clean everything before 11. Very bad experience, very hostile service. DO NOT RECOMMEND.POOL: There is a ward yelling at kids for jumping in the pool and playing with water guns. Not sure I would've liked this if my kids would've been there. Basically kids can just swim, no splashing, no yelling, nor jumping or the guy will get really upset. I saw one kid crying, at least my kids would've be very upset not to be able to jump or play with any water toys.

We visited both of the pools, which were really relax and good to spend time in the morning or after the beach. The balcony had pool view.Close to the beach, like 15 mins walk.

It was hard talking with the receptionists since they only know spanish and can’t understand/talk english.Parking place was in front of the hotel, which was fine, but too expensive 20e per day since it’s not garage or any shade for the car.The wifi connection in the room was not working, you have to sit in the lobby or at the pool so you can have a bit of internet. The toilet’s room windows were broken and it was windy those days so we were hearing all the noises from outside. There were only 3 TV channels in our room, so you can’t watch much TV before sleep. The third bed was like a picnic bed with added mattress on top.Every furniture in the room was old and was making noises, not worth it for the money. The train station is a bit far from the hotel. In the morning the cleaning service were entering the room without knocking so she would see us sleep and close the door.
