Pros +
- Charming. Food was delicious. Service was great.
- Estelle & staff are absolutely wonderful. So helpful & friendly. Breakfast & dinner were amazing. The chef prepares delicious food. Grounds are beautiful to stroll around the fountain. Comfortable room.
- The hotel staff really made our stay memorable. We arrived after a long day of biking during a heatwave. The staff did everything they could to be helpful - from taking care of our bikes, making sure we could have lunch after arriving just before the end of the service, to letting us check in early.
Cons -
- A little outdated and tired decor
- A small thing. The jams at breakfast were messy and liquid as they were nearly empty. Not very professional.
- The spa was unavailable for us, they said it was full. We just wanted a sauna after a long drive, and we couldn’t go. We asked if we could the following day and they said it was closed .

Dinner and room were fine.

Beautiful outdoors and wonderful dinner

Big bed, nice bathroom
Staff were weird and hostile. Felt like a mortuary, like you couldn't talk during breakfast. Grounds are unkempt. Staff not knowledgable about their own services
Very nice place
We couldn't have dinner at the property and to us this was part of the experience of staying at such a place. They suggested the local retail park, what MacDonald's?
Breakfast didn’t allow masses of choice over a three day stay but what was provided was fine and value ok at e16. We stayed in The Pavillion with our dog which gave us our own garden. Beautiful grounds. Every single member of staff we encountered could not have been more helpful. Provided a safe space to keep our valuable bike at no extra charge.
The road outside the hotel is narrow and twisty and the entrance to the drive is tight - regular speeding drivers make access concerning. Steps up to the hotel reception are steep and difficult though hotel staff are happy to help with heavy luggage on request.
Old building and few in the garden
1. There was strong smell of fried fish near our room. 2. There was not tea & coffee facilities. 3. Very heavy traffic near hotel. It’s really not countryside as advertised
The gardens were amazing. Terrace and bar area lovely. Most of staff really helpful and nice.
We booked a meal in the restaurant, slightly disappointing food but worst aspect of meal was the service from one member of staff, shown to table in a surly manner, had to request menus, drinks etc several times. All other guests French were served with a smile and before us, even though they had arrived after. Rooms were dated with slightly curious decor out of keeping with rest of chateau
We returned to this hotel having stayed here for two nights the year before and had really enjoyed our stay. Just south of Tours and only a short ride into the city. The hotel is nicely decorated and we opted for a room overlooking the front gardens for this stay which was very comfortable. We did not use the Spa on this occasion however the massage last year was extremely relaxing after a long car journey. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings, knowing from last year that the food is wonderful and as the weather was lovely we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks on the terrace overlooking the beautifully manicured gardens.
We are avid tennis players and none of the three tennis courts are maintained. We played on the best of the three which had considerable cracks in the concrete so you never knew where your ball would end up, but it was fun. The menu is quite limited with a choice of 3/3/3 although it is always beautifully cooked and delicious. However when we asked if the choice of potatoes could be changed to something available on another dish, the curt reply was that "it was not possible" and the member of staff would not even ask the chef. In this day and age of dietary requirements it is quite unusual to be blankly refused for a small change to be made. It would not stop us eating in the restaurant, however it would be better if they could be more accommodating.
Mostly good. Excellent food.. Pity about dogs being allowed.
Showers are below par. I
The staff was extremely kind, professional, eager to please / serve!
Our bed was very hard.
Fabulous property. Clean and well kept.Staff are very helpful.Quality of breakfast is fair, but dinner was excellent
No swimming pool when I thought there was one.Massage too expensive for what it was. Very average massage.Breakfast is expensive too.
This is a good chateau hotel on the way to being a great one but it's not quite there yet. Food was good, beds were comfortable, and the setting was beautiful.
The hotel had missed my request for twin beds and originally put us in a room with a smallish double bed on the first floor. Their original suggestion that we trade with my sister-in-law and her daughter, which would have solved nothing as they'd have then had the same issue we had. The hotel then did move us to another room with twin beds on the ground floor. Perhaps because they hadn't had time to air it out, it felt damp and smelled a bit mildew-y. The food at the restaurant was quite good, but the service was not as polished as I'd expect from a top rated chateau restaurant. Not that it was bad, it just didn't have the final finesse.
The waitress in the restaurant was very helpful when we had dinner.
The room was very small. There were no tea/coffee making facilities. The door handle on the en-suite was broken. Very difficult to flush the toilet. Toilet seat not fitted properly - wobbly. Black mold on grout around bath. Cracked floor tiles and grout missing. When standing in bath to have a shower the bath moved. The whole place looks very tired and very run down, especially the garden.
Nice room, with lovely veiw
The restaurant menu for evening meal was a little limited with not much choice, it was the same both nights we stayed, although the food was good.
Beautiful gardens! Fantastic Hotel! My husband and made a reservation for dinner. It was fabulous!
Chateau, gardens and free parking.
Everything during our stay was great. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely with a homely feel, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Plenty of storage for clothing. We booked for dinner which was amazing as was the huge choice of wine.
Nothing - we loved it here.
Wonderful location, a hidden gem with beautiful surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff. A great menu deal for dinner and a well organized breakfast.
The beds were somewhat on the hard side (to my taste) and a bit small (for my size) and the locations has to endure what so many now have to endure: the invasion of the brown marmorated stink bugs. They are of course harmless to humans, but when it's cold they want to come indoors too. They are all over France now. What a shame.
