- The hotel and common areas were nice, the location was poor, no access to the coast and down in the valley
- We had an exceptional experience in this lovely and very modern hotel. Our room was spotless and exceeded our expectations. All staff are extremely friendly and always very helpful. We were welcomed with a glass of prosecco in the reception, we also enjoyed fresh fruit and a bottle of wine waiting for us in our bedroom. Very tasty breakfasts with a range of pastries, biscuits, fresh fruit, European breakfast and so on. The restaurant has a very unique lunch & dinner menu. Every dish we have tried was presented at a very high standard and was really delicious. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. We will come back here very soon. Thank you for everything from Lidia & Darek?
- Not much. The view was decent.
Cons -
- It was difficult to access, with suitcases, no access to the coast due to railroad tracks. Had I known this, I would not have stayed there.
- Nothing open. Pools closed and filthy. Walk way to beach was disgusting!! Tried to make appointment for pedicure but they couldn’t remove the polish that was already on my toes. Assigned seating was weird at the “free” breakfast but the food was cold and gone with maybe 6 other guests staying at the resort. Boring place to be! Attitude when I went to Barr and ordered wine! I would not recommend!

Hotel is a great standard hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Hotel room was great with everything we needed and a good size. Great balcony with sea view. Hotel also in general is very clean which was very important factor for us. Food at the hotel was also very good and not too expensive for hotel food, and a great selection for breakfast. Location is excellent and with ample free parking. Only ten minutes drive from Castellammare del Golfo which is a great fishing town for eating so a car is recommended as a taxi is quite expensive. Hotel also provided a free shuttle service to the beach where there are private loungers and a great restaurant on the beach. Can't fault our stay (9 nights) and would recommend this hotel.
There is nothing that I can say that we didn't like with our stay.
Great pool, sunbeds and pool towels. Shuttle bus to sister hotel by the beach. Excellent sandy shallow beach sunbeds included in the room rate. Good buffet breakfast with efficient replenishment. Every interaction with staff extremely professional and friendly. Ample free parking.
Thought room rate was slightly expensive. food in restaurant was average. Very salty pasta and meat cheese platter overpriced based on other experiences.
Nice modern hotel close to the beach. Comfortable facilities. Good sister hotel on the beach and a good shuttle in between. About 1 kilometre flat walk if you want to between the hotels
The hotel is 3 kilometres from the town. No bus service so you either drive or pay 20 euros each way for a taxi. No other restaurants around the hotel. The hotel has a good restaurant reasonably priced however the menu does not change and if you go to the sister hotel on the beach the menu is the same even at lunchtime no snacks available. Staff at reception appeared disinterested they do not great you. No one serving at the bar you had to get reception to call someone each time you wanted a drink. We also had an early flight to catch and needed to leave the hotel at 6.00am. I settled the bill the evening before and asked if we could get some breakfast which we had paid for. I was told that some breakfast would be left behind the bar for us. When we came down there was no breakfast and the night manager had no milk to make coffee. Not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Just need a bit of TLC in the rooms starting to show signs of wear. Easy for them to do.
Clean staff
Location. Not beach front at all
Beautifully clean hotel. Wonderful reception area. Very welcoming and friendly reception staff. We arrived early and it was no problem for us to be using the facilities before our room was ready.Great breakfast experience.Super clean - cleaners work very hard Pool staff very friendly Fantastic restaurant and food.Spacious room with a large balcony terrace. Easily accessible to local towns.
Location doesn’t match the hotel, there is no where to walk easily and you definitely need a car. There are teabags in the room but no kettle or coffee. Also expired juice in minibar. The rooms aren’t soundproofed very well and there is a lot of noise from above and can be heard next door as well.In room security light is constantly on in room which was very bright but the cleaner managed to turn it off. Curtains do not close properly Didn’t like the way the owner / manager getting annoyed and impatient with the staff in front of the guests. It is a pet friendly hotel but they allow dogs at breakfast and in the pool area and often they were barking by the pool. Expired juice in mini bar
Breakfast was good. Staff are nice.
Make sure you have your own transportation, as the hotel is far from the center.Rooms are priced differently.
Calm hotel. Clean and nice. Good breakfast.
Not at the sea/beach. Spa is to be paid as an extra.
Room cleaning was very good and the breakfasts were tasty. Staff were lovely.
Location is terrible. You cannot get anywhere without hiring a car/taxi. A taxi to the local town (5 minute drive) is 20 Euros one way. If you go into the town in the day (its lovely and has a lovely beach) you have to pay 40 Euros there and back, then if you want to go out to dinner because there are no options near the hotel (apart from the hotel restaurant) you have then pay another 40-50Euros.It is impossible to walk anywhere as the road has no footpaths, it is busy and not lit and there is a railway line in front. We were advised to use an underpass to walk to the ONLY pizzeria 500 mtrs away and it was full of debris, sewerage and not lit. A cab was 20Euros to go 500 mtrs. The shuttlebus to the sister hotel runs regularly. The timings that they display in reception are often not met (mostly late and have to ask staff when the bus will turn up) and also the pool at the other hotel is tiny with 8 beds and offering the same menu, so only worth going to sit on the beach. A shuttlebus to the town would make more sense. The resort really needs to offer a snack bar menu to make it more enticing to stay by the pool (which is nicer at the resort), but you can only eat off the restaurant menu which doesn't offer snacks/pannis/fries/salad options etc. You also have to go to the lobby bar to order a drink when you are by the pool. It would be much nicer if they had a bar and some tables by the pool. There is a "rule" that you cannot bring your own food into the hotel, so when we got a takeaway pizza one night I was told that I shouldn't be bringing food in to the hotel and that they couldn't provide a knife. This is a ludicrous rule because the hotel does not sell snacks/fruit/ pizza etc.The room terraces are not fully private because the walls dividing the room terrace are too low, so it means you can't sit out on the terrace unless you are happy with being able to fully see your neighbours/hear their conversation.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great food also. A lovely beach by a sister hotel available with a regular shuttle bus from the hotel! The pool area is very nice with lots of sunbeds and friendly bar service!
It is a little off the beaten track with no public transport available to the nearest town which is 6km away! No nighttime entertainment and a very small and quiet bar at the hotel!
The staff was amazing. They spoke good English and were really helpful (as far as possible). The resort was calm and we had the pool to ourselves. It was amazing to have a 'classic' hotel breakfast again (scrambled eggs!) after a few weeks of sweet Italian breakfasts!
We were assigned a completely wrong room. We booked 2-room, terrace + bath. We got a 1.5 room, balcony + shower. We don't mind that, but paid a good price because we just got married and wanted a nice experience. That was disappointing. The staff said the room we booked didn't exist with that combination. They ended up transferring us to a smaller room, but with a terrace (no bath) abd no compensation, also Booking itself couldn't help us. We ended up paying a high price, for what felt like a standard room. The location is really remote, even the beach access is so far you require a (free) shuttle or a drive yourselves. The TV in our room was facing an outside wall with no furniture. You had to sideye it, or stand while watching. There was no coffee (there was a boiler) in the room, and also the reception couldn't help us with getting us even instant coffee.
Nice location with friendly staff, big and newly designed rooms, beautiful seavidw.
Poor breakfast for the price paid. Extremely noisy room - you can hear the toilet of the other rooms and many other sounds throughout the night.SPA price not included in the room price and that was not advertised.SPA schedule is only 12.00-18.00 and that was not advertised.Hotel advertised as beachfront, but that is NOT beachfront.
A good, clean, and well-maintained hotel.
The location was good, but to reach the beach, you had to go through a railway crossing, which was approximately 500 meters away. The hotel had an outdoor pool, but it wasn't heated, so it wasn't suitable for swimming. An indoor pool was available for an additional fee.
I like everything modern and elegant, and this hotel certainly is. The highlight of this resort is the spa but we were not there for this package, so I honestly do not know what it looks like. I heard it's great and relaxing! In some ways, the hotel is still new (2021 built) so the last floor (5th) was still not available and it will be a piano bar soon to open. It was not a big deal for my husband and me. The beach it the reason I travel to Sicily in general and to see family. The only pool they have is really nice, but we used it scarcely. I wish they had a separate pool for children as they take over and I rather not use it. The view from our balcony was lovely. We spent a lot of time out in the nearby town of Castellammare del Golfo versus Alcamo Marina where the hotel is located as we had done on previous trips. The breakfast served downstairs (basement) was excellent and all the staff and personnel (front desk, barista, servers/attendants at the restaurants and breakfast area were polite and kind, as well as the shuttle driver when we used it once to reach the beach across the hotel. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Mini fridge well stacked but $$. Parking was not an issue for our rental car. At night, it was noticeably quiet, unlike other hotels and resorts. Shuttle service to the beach and sister hotel nearby is available free of charge.
It is much smaller than I imagined it. I visited the previous summer a huge and real resort style at another location in Sicily, so I would not call la Battigia a "resort" as it is a bit misleading; it's a genuinely nice and beautiful hotel with a lovely spa. The fancy look hides some "cheap" construction material where the builder may have cut some corners as happens in many places worldwide; however, whatever maintenance issue we experienced, it was addressed efficiently and expeditiously. One side of the door frame detached itself as we entered the room on one occasion, luckily, maintenance fixed it rapidly. The area surrounding the beach is not clean and needs some revamping. Overall, the place is a bit pricy for what is offered, and the location stands out as the only modern construction in the middle of old buildings. It's kind of weird. The only restaurant on site was expensive and we preferred to use it only once and eat out. There's an underpass (shortcut) to reach the beach and lido of the hotel but we chose not to venture, plus, we had a car after all. Some of the most common amenities were not in the room: an ironing board and iron (had to ask for one) and the espresso coffee machine or plain old coffee machine is only available in certain rooms, most have a tea kettle. For coffee and espresso drinkers, this is a negative.
During my week-long stay, from check-in to check-out, the staff was consistently friendly, attentive, and accommodating, making my stay a truly memorable one.The room was spacious, well-maintained, and offered a stunning view, adding to the overall experience.
The breakfast menu could be a lot better.I was disappointed to find that the variety remained the same throughout the week and most of the time the food like omelets, bacon was cold. The quality of the food was good, it would have been wonderful to see more diverse choices to cater to different tastes and preferences.
Very nice, new and tidy hotel! All the stuff - especially the receptionists were very friendly. Near the nice city Castellmate del Golfo.Good starting point for exploring North-West-Coast.
Everything as expected. Important: you should have a car!!
very friendly staff, room was clean and bathroom had a good size, this is important for italy. breakfast was very nicely setup, while everything was there sometimes the eggs got cold and the soft boild eggs where always hard. the restaurant has amazing regional food.
the location next to the train track is not nice but it comes with the area. mattress in the bed was soso but still ok. the hotel entrance is a bit luggage unfriendly, at least the one in the front.
Great facility, fairly new, well maintained. Friendly and helpful staff. good breakfast. Nice pool although a little shallow for adults but great for small children. the restaurant is very good. we had dinner one evening during our one week stay. great
nothing much really. only 2 points. the ramp on the backside of the hotel leading to the side street was too steep for our car. secondly i would say that the price of the rooms is quite high for the region.
