Clean, gently staff, good breakfast… near to Bari, airport… you can visit Matera, Alberobello, Ostuni, Monopoli, Polignano sul mare…
Great location, wonderful friendly staff. Cool old monastery. Inexpensive.
Poor lighting and dated bathroom.
The old town of Giovinazzo is surely a gem in terms of its beauty, history and fact that it is not on the mass tourism schedule. We visited late in the season so it might be different in height of cummer but at the end of September, walking around day or evening was simply magical. The hotel is I understand for sale and will close soon which is sad. I hope it reopens. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The whole place was cleaned every day, floors washed everything. The rooftop bar area (closed for our trip) provides a superb viewpoint and on sunny mornings, is amazing!! We fell in love with Giovinazzo and Hotel S. Martins and will hold it long in our memories because of the place and the people.
The breakfast is quite good but monotonous and lacking a bit of imagination (if you are staying, like we for a few days) but the coffee is great. The courtyard is a magical area but as the hotel is slowly winding down and it was past the season, it was not really used. We had the apartment which was fine in terms of size but looks inwards. Right outside the window is an old church bell that still rings each evening at around 21.50 and if your window is open and you are settling down, its quite a shock but is actually one of the charms!!
Fantastic location in old town, quirky, interesting building.Very friendly staffGreat room, sea view for us! Room very clean, bed linens good, plenty of towels, room service very good.Near the airport so great for our last three days.
Bathroom a bit dated and shower very small but all works, plenty of hot water. It is an old building which has been converted so space a premium.Bed very firm, mattress worn- could do with updating.
Location is great, we had a room with sea view, comfortable bed, the all building is beautiful with great decor and attention to details. They also have a great space on the terrace with nice view Good breakfast.Very good value
Excellent traditional hospitality. The staff were very helpful with information, especially parking, which can be awkward. The recommended off site carpark with a shuttle service removed the stress of finding spaces. A very enjoyable stay in a gem of a small coastal town.
Francesco is a gem of the place plus all staff of the hotel. Rooftop bar with stunning view of the sea, sunset, cathedral and the town. Great comfortable room. Very nice breakfast with fresh fruits.
Cannot reach hotel by car.
Good location.in a nice historical.building
Even if the hotel is located in a beautiful historical building we had a horrible experience un thereAll started when we asked the so call lady manager to call us a taxi for Lido San Francesco (a day before we had used a taxi from the hotel to Bari Centro Vechio - 50 euro). She called a friend of her Lorenzo, with a private transfer, even if we asked for taxi. That guy, chaeced us 70 euro. Return with normal taxi - 40 euroWhen we told her that she scammed us , (maybe she had a percent of that money),the so called manager, a lady was very agressve both verbal and physical. It was something that i never met, the manager of o hotel to scream and threaten the tourists. She sad that Giovinazzo have no taxi and we have to pay 30 euro tax, just to come from BariAnother lie. We called Taxi Bari - 35 euro.to airportIf you stay at this hotel don't let yourself scammed by that lady and her friend LorenzoAnother lie, is that you have free wi-fi in the room. Wi-fi works just in the lobby. Inside the room you don't have any signal, not even normal cell signal (thick walls)Another lies - no restaurant, no functional bar , roof top bar - just for weekendsSo don't choose this hotel, they are totally unprofessional and they lie a lot
Cappuccino was excellent and the view from the window room was splendid.
The heat in the elevator
Prime location, very accommodating to me being gluten free and such lovely staff! Check out the Sky bar on the rooftop, such a cool sunset!
Everything was perfect!
We had a wonderful stay at S. Martin Hotel in Giovinazzo! Everything was perfect – the room was spotless, and cleaning was done daily, which we really appreciated. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. A special thank you to Francesco for all his recommendations for great local restaurants and for helping us with reservations – it made our experience even more enjoyable. The hotel itself has a unique charm and atmosphere that makes it truly special. We felt very comfortable and well taken care of. We sincerely hope to return soon!

The staff was incredible. Very friendly, professional, and willing to assist in any way.The rooms were beautiful and the location couldn't be better. Walking distance to the beach, great restaurants, and center square.
The only thing for a family of 5, two bathrooms would have been perfect.
Hotel is amazing! Beautifully located with plenty of great restaurants around. Excellent service and very helpful staff. Rooms are specious and very clean. The building itself is beautiful. There is possibly to leave a car on the guarded parking. We could not complain on anything. Hotel has a rooftop with amazing view which was a additional bonus. We enjoyed our stay very much and if we will come back to the region for sure we will stay again in the hotel.
Location close to local “ancient wall beach” and historic town. Close to the airport. Delicious breakfast. Stylish, elegant hotel.
Not staying longer.
We were in #206 and we were quite pleased with the room. It was spacious and comfortable. The morning breakfast has a nice array of offerings and the cappuchini were delicious.
We encourage you to do maintenance on the walls and ceiling where the paint is spalling from the inevitable moisture in the stone. It's constant maintenance, we know (we live in a stone house in Polignano a Mare), but it matters for health and appearances. Additionally, leave printed instructions (multiple languages) for the AC so that the light does not blink next to the matrimonial bed all night. That started about 3am in our room (earlier in our friends' room). It was so annoying we had to get up to figure out how to make it stop (we got it to be less bright, but it continued pulsing on and off all night).
The hotel has a unique atmosphere and is located in the best place in the city - in the middle of the old charming streets and right by the sea. The gentleman at the reception is very helpful and kind. Very nice and smiling staff at breakfast (with great pastries and coffee). None of our requirements were a problem for the hotel staff.
We would have appreciated a fridge in the room given the extreme heat outside. The only thing that slightly spoiled our impression of an otherwise perfect accommodation was the mold in the shower.
The location and hotel itself are lovely.
We had room 320 and there was black mold everywhere in the bathroom and evidence of it in the bedroom. We informed the front desk woman and she blew us off!
