A beautiful historic place. The host and staff are friendly and professional. The food is amazing! The room was comfortable and clean.
Everything! Food, personalized service (everyone was so nice and attentive), ambience of old world charm.
Nothing - we liked everything.
The property was absolutely charming, cozy, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were all wonderful, and the self check in process was quick and easy. The beds were great, and everything felt well taken care of. Breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner on certain days, which was a nice option to have. The location could not be better, right next to a bus stop, making it effortless to get into Lucerne in just 15 minutes or to reach the train station. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lucerne, and we will definitely be staying here again on our next trip.
I loved everything about it, amazing value for the price. I had my own balcony, spacious single room, and the breakfast was so amazing. It felt like I was staying at home and the people who work there are very kind, giving, and welcoming. Very comfortable, and the bus stop is literally right outside!
I loved everything, I would just say the only thing missing are the “do not disturb/ please clean room” sign to hang on the door. One morning I went to have breakfast and went back to my room to sleep a little more because I personally couldn’t get too much sleep, and the cleaning lady opened my door by accident.
The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful, especially Jennine (sp?) This is a quaint older building and Susy and Markus have kept it in great condition. Everything in the room worked well. We happened to be visiting during a huge heat wave in Europe and many hotels do not have air conditioning, including this one. They provided a fan for the room and due to the hotel's location uphill a bit, it did cool down at night. The hotel is just across the street from a bus stop where several buses can get you into downtown Lucerne easily, and it was very nice to be in a quiet area. I would recommend this as an alternative to the busier downtown Lucerne locations.
The hotel was very clean and well-maintained. I especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning. The staff were also very helpful and friendly, which made my stay even more pleasant. Highly recommended!
There is no door for the toilet, it’s just separated using curtains.
Staff was very nice and helpful.Location was very good to get to bus stop
False advertisement-said free bus passes, they stopped doing that over a year ago per owner. No mention of 3 flights of stairs to get to room or fact that there is no elevator! Bathroom with no door, never seen that before
We had a lovely stay at the Landgasthof Hotel Rossli and would highly recommend it. This family run hotel is a gem! Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The restaurant on site is a bonus! Suzy, the owner, shared with us the history of the hotel and helped us navigate through the menu. We then had a delicious and memorable evening meal prepared by Markus. A delightful experience!
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Markus and Suzan for the wonderful experience my wife and I had during our stay at Basthof Rössli. This charming hotel and Michelin-starred restaurant truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. The attention to cleanliness throughout the property was impressive, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant environment. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the exquisite dinner at their restaurant. Markus, is a talented chef.Suzan manages the establishment alongside Markus with grace and dedication, and the kind staff further enhanced our experience. Their professionalism and genuine care for guests set Basthof Rössli apart.I am more than happy to recommend Basthof Rössli to anyone looking for a remarkable experience in Lucerne, Switzerland. Thank you once again, Markus and Suzan, for a memorable stay.
Nothing all was good for us
Although the location is away from Lucerne, it was a quick 15 bus ride from the train station right to the hotel. All the staff were exceptional. They had staff carry our luggage to our upstairs room. The chef-owner Marcus was a wonderful host, as was his wife, and the restaurant was amazing!
Comfortable beds. Good service.Outstanding food in the restaurant which was popular with the local. Swiss population.Excellent free bus service to Luzern station ( local guest card)Clean and comfortable.Would love to stay there again

Beautiful 250 year old old guesthouse in a quiet neighbourhood of Luzern. Bus stop to city centre is only 2 minute walk and 14 minute trip to the centre of Luzern. Rooms have been tastefully renovated, large and exceptionally clean. Hosts Markus and Susy are very welcoming. They serve a very good breakfast and the restaurant serves great meals. Highly recommend staying.
Fantastic building, clean rooms , excellent breakfast , ample parking space ! Susan and Marcus gave us a warm welcome and were more than helpfull ! Thank you guys!
We chose this hotel to experience a traditional Swiss hotel,to be away from the hustle and bustle of Luzern but to be able to visit the city daily. Downstairs, the hotel retains the wood panelling and decor typical of an alpine hotel.Upstairs, the bedrooms are modern and well appointed but still have unique wood features, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. There are several buses to the centre of Luzern from just outside the hotel and the journey takes 11 minutes. The 73 post bus was very reliable, clean and a smooth trip.
Nothing. We'd visit again!
Just a few minutes from the city center, great service and food. Our room had a great design and was spacious. Staff is really kind and attentive, will definitely be back.
Even though it is a 200+ year old property, it is well maintained. Very clean and superb staffs!!Only thing is that the bathroom was semi private only closed by a curtain!!I still think it is a wonderful property and food was excellent!!!
It's a beautiful old building in the Swiss style. Room was clean and spacious and had very good beds. Several different restaurant areas onsite. They give you a free city bus pass, and the public transportation from the hotel to downtown Lucerne is very easy and convenient. Also, the included breakfast is excellent and plentiful!
1. There is not much to see or do in Adligenswil (the town). But if you prefer getting out of the hustle and bustle of the city to a quiet respite for the evening and night, Gasthof Rossli is a good bet.2. I think it is overpriced. The restaurant is expensive (but food was good).3. The hotel and restaurant are closed two days a week. I didn't like not having people around on those days and the restaurant being closed. (At least they did serve breakfast on those days!)4. Not much else in the way of restaurants in the small town. We ate at a nice Thai restaurant across the street on one of the hotel's closed days.5. It's a very small hotel, and there is no lobby area. That's fine, of course, but I was expecting something larger (and with a lobby area) after reading the description on Booking and other sites.
