Pros +
- Reasonable hotel for a stop on way to ferry. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was ok
- Nice business type Hotel , i checked in on a Sunday afternoon and was the only guest in the place , as i said its a business hotel but nice rooms , good facilities , couldn't fault , breakfast abit average but im probably a bit fussy ! Super friendly staff who spoke English
- Very comfy bed, room was spacious and to a good standard, staff were very helpful despite language difference, breakfast was good
Cons -
- Nothing to be honest
- Your handling of my booking including taking my card details for payment was appalling. There was no room available at this hotel -this is the second occasion you have booked me into a nonexistent room !!
- This is a functional hotel in a business park on the outskirts of Rennes. Google maps has trouble finding it and when you arrive the exterior looks grim. The breakfast server was overly anxious that we did not overstay the alotted breakfast time. There was literally no time to boil an egg!

Nothing and please note I didn’t even get to the bedroom

Once inside the welcome is warm. The bar is really not worth mentioning but the restaurant is amazing. One of us is coeliac [gluten intolerant] and for once in our lives they were well aware of the issues and able to provide great food and great service. If staying here I highly recommend you eat dinner here.

The staff was very friendly, the welcome from Solemn was perfect. Speaks English.
We payed for breakfast and we had 3 mornings without breakfast buffet, little choice for the breakfast we got.The night person the first few days didn't speak English, the last days it was a man and he did speak English.
Breakfast was disgusting, inedible cold scrambled eggs
staff
breakfast, restaurant closed at weekend, shower too low
The room was lovely apart from a flicky light bulb in the bathroom, the parking was good and easy to get on and off the motorway.
I booked this hotel because the Restaurant was highly recommended, sadly it was shut so I couldn't eat there. I was offered a plate of cheese or meats but decided to drive out to find an alternate restaurant. It spoiled my evening somewhat.
Very good value for money, nice roomMany thanks to Anne-Audrey et Jeremy for their welcomeAnd also to Solenn for finding our forgotten items!
This is a great choice of the hotel for those who travel by car - really excellent value for money. Hotel is 4 star, modern, well-equipped, with a very nice personnel and a good breakfast. I was also nicely surprised by the size of the room, as I expected it to be smaller.
The only disadvantage of this hotel is that it is located far from the city, however, if you travel by car, it is a perfect place to stop for a night.
We booked 2 hours before arrival close to midnight. Helpful guy at reception. Good size room, met our expectation. Good size bathroom and good water pressure. We spent one night only before flying. Next morning spent couple of hours in the lobby. Reception lady was very helpful and attentive.
It was a bit difficult to find the hotel at night. Location was close to motorway, a bit remote. The hotel secured a deposit which should be returned after checking out. The reception guy charged that and took a while to get the money back, had to give the hotel my bank details.
The hotel is a convenient location if you wish to do a stopover to Mont-Saint-Michel. The room is very large and clean with a big TV.
The lift and some common area is a bit old. Restaurant is closed during the weekend. Beware if you need dinner you may need to go to the city.
The staff especially Mae who is wonderful and helped us with many things. Also the restaurant deserves a Michelin star. The food is exceptional and the price is very reasonable. We stayed a week and found the location great for touring. The full breakfast is also terrific and has everything from smoked salmon to meats and many cheeses pastries fresh squeezed juice. The beds are king size, which is rare in France.
I appreciated very much not having plastic for the glasses in the room, though still mineral water was in plastic bottle. The staff was impeccable
There was no gel in the shower: the only missing issue. Price of breakfast is too high, so I did not take it
Location off the motorway, perfect for stop off. Outside of city centre so not busy if just stop over.Family room great-2 separate rooms with a secureentrance vestibule between them. Free parking.Very good value and basic but adequate breakfast included.
Room could have been cleaner. Debris under bed and carpets dirty. Coffee/tea tray, water, tissues in bathroom not replenished On an industrial estate, not in centre, nothing around it to walk to so it’s not the place for sightseeing.
It had free parking right out front and the staff were really friendly. The hotel was clean and the rooms were spacious and quiet. Staff had set up a baby travel cot for us so it was ready for when we arrived which was very helpful and kind.
A little hard to find, it’s in an industrial estate and took us a few laps to find, don’t follow your Google maps!
we had a three night stay in the Mercure Hotel, the beds were comfy, and the room was clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful, polite and kind and the restaurant on site had quite nice food on the night we went there to eat.
The sheer curtains in the room were very grey and badly in need of a clean. We stayed for three days, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, we left on Saturday. the Restaurant was only open on the Wednesday night. if the Mercure want to advertise as a 4 star hotel, I would suggest they invest in catering for their clientele and have a restaurant open 7 days per week, particularly as the Mercure was in an industrial area where there were no other restaurants to walk to. on our last day, sadly there was no food left for breakfast, and even though they gave us a discount, running out of food in a 4 star hotel is terrible. Mercure need to lift there game, they even charged me for requesting a taxi!
Great location for us as an overnight stopover staff was very helpful and spoke very good English excellent restaurant next door
noise from busy road if you had your windows open
Bed was fantastic
Lift getting serviced at check out time and painters ladders behind lobby door that I could'nt exit the stairway
