    • Right on the Rhine River, convenient location for visiting wineries in the Middle Rhine Valley. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are recently renovated and large compared to other European locations
    • Very friendly staff
    • The hotel was absolutely gorgeous! It was like out of a movie. The staff was so helpful. They even helped us with understanding how the train worked. We stayed in numerous hotels during our 16 day vacation and this was certainly our favorite!

    Cons -

    • Wifi requires a special username and password every 24 hours Restaurants in the Hotel are pricey, but several great restaurants are within walking distance.
    • There was not one thing that we did not like about the hotel and our stay.
    • Lack of options for breakfast. You had to choose the buffet and couldn’t do al a carte

That it was family owned. Right on the Rhine. The history of the hotel itself. The restaurant was excellent.

    Good location

I did not have breakfast the first two days. On my third day at the hotel, I asked the restaurant staff if I could order an ala carte breakfast. I was told that the buffet breakfast was free. I gave the staff my room number and nothing more was said. On my fourth, last, day I also gave the staff my room number and nothing was said to me. When I went to exit the hotel, the person at reception stopped me and told me that I had to pay for four days breakfast. I told him that I only had breakfast two days and that the restaurant staff had told me breakfast was included. His response was to show me a document in German which he claimed said that breakfast was not includedHe adjusted the bill, but I still had to pay 50€ for two breakfasts that I was told by the restaurant statt were included with my roomAfter paying €800 for four days lodging snd to then been subjected to attempt to charge me for four days breakfast and being made to pay for two days had left me with an extremely poor opinion of your hotelFurther, the elevators are ancient. There is no indication as to where the elevator is when attempting to call it. The lights indication that an elevator has been called stop working. In fact, the entire public space looks like it needs a long overdue renovation

Beautiful hotel and the view of the river is outstanding! We had requested two twin beds and were very happy with our room and how spacious it was. The balcony overlooking the Rhein River was just what we were hoping for, beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast was more than we expected and the food was delicious. The location was wonderful not just for the views but that it was a reasonable walk to the train station and there were many wonderful restaurants nearby to choose from if you did not want to eat all your meals at the hotel. The staff was also exceptional and made everything about our stay easy and comfortable. The hotel even provided an oscillating fan in our room which made this the coolest room we experienced during our three weeks in Germany. We would definitely choose to stay here again!

Even the one negative the hotel turned into a positive. In general A/C is an issue for Americans in Germany, this hotel knowing temperature sensitive travelers wanted a cool sleep environment, so they had a wonderful oscillating fan in the room when we arrived. It was the most wonderful sleep we had during our stay in Germany.

Well located, clean, good breakfast. Staff is nice and friendly.

The hotel is very old and there was no AC- we were caught in the middle of a heatwave and could barely sleep on our first night as our room was extremelly hot. The mattress was too soft and the pillows had a very strange shape. Also, we noted, that the check in and check out system is very inefficient and dated, making a person wait for up to 20 minutes in a queue to get served. Parking is also complicated and there are not enough lifts in the property. In general, the hotel needs a big revamp.

    8BrookePosted on: 9-6-2025

No AC. Top floor rooms can get warm. Trains run frequently so loud if windows are open.

Beautiful building inside and out right at the waterfront. Large room with nice bathroom, lots of amenities. Very good breakfast in beautiful dining room. Coffee in the bar with nice old woodwork. Lots of charm.

No airconditioning. People around us were smoking and making noise on the balcony at 2:30am. There was a good quiet fan and a screen in front of the window. But the smoke wafting in was terrible. Bed was good but the pillow was lumpy.

What was there not to like? It had everything and more than what we had hoped for. So charming and the location was perfect. If you wanted to leave the charming town you could hop on the train which was a small walk away . So many wonderful places to eat near by and everyone we met were so friendly . We felt right at home .

I have put a lot of thought into this question .and I still have no answer . I absolutely loved everything about it.

    9RebeccaPosted on: 6-4-2025

Rooms were comfortable. Husband enjoyed the reading nook looking over the river. Breakfast was delicious with many good options and beautiful river views. Nice having a sauna onsite as well with robes provided in the room.

No AC. No food available after 9 pm (train was delayed so we arrived late, needed to search the town for a restaurant willing to take us). For the price of the hotel, breakfast should be included.

Very elegant and right on the edge of the Rhein River? Our room was very nice with a small balcony to sit and enjoy the sights.

Disappointed to see upon opening our door to the balcony an empty wine bottle and a good amount of used cigarette butts. Could have been better.

Wonderful position, super restaurant with delicious food, charming, helpful and professional staff.

All the rooms with a river view were taken. But we had a great day in the sauna and pool. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is on the banks of the Rhine. There is a nice terrace in front of the hotel where you can drink wine, eat and watch the ships sailing by. You can buy tickets for a boat trip at the ticket office opposite the hotel. Very nice area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The man at the hotel reception spoke Ukrainian)) This is the first time in our travels. Nice!

Very clean and comfortable hotel. The staff helpful and friendly, excellent location. Very good pool facilities.

The catering was not exceptional. Although the serving staff were attentive and engaged, the food was somewhat basic and uninspiring.
