    • The team was extremely welcoming, kind and efficient at the same time. The view from our perfectly decorated suite was exceptional - it felt like sleeping on the lake! Amenities in the room made us feel at home right away. The restaurant was wonderfully gastronomic with perfect service. The gym had the best equipment I have ever used. It was very hard to leave and we look forward to our next visit!!!
    • The view is absolutely stunning. The room was very comfortable and location great in the middle of the old city. But the best thing is the owner cooking us the most delicious breakfast while having a good chat. Super friendly. Don’t miss eating in the restaurant for dinner too. The quality of the food is incredible. The best beef fillet I have had in years.

    Location

Room setup, no vanity light working, cofusing light switches, very limited and badly positioned socketts for charging, bedide lights way to bright. Tiwels were unusual and uncomfortable

It’s quaint, great location, and cozy! Loved this place, and I felt comfortable, and slept so well. The beds are amazing!

The check-in after hours is hard for foreign travelers who don’t have WiFi. If we wouldn’t have found someone at the hotel restaurant, I have no idea how we would have checked in. That’s the only issue I had with the hotel. A new process for guests without WiFi is highly recommended.

The location. Zug is spectacular. Gym is simple but well equiped.

I was travelling alone. When I arrived reception was unmanned, I went to the terrace and found someone to assist me. She was not welcoming at all. After giving me my room key she said to follow her. No offer to help with my suitcase. I was taken to the room at the top of a flight of stairs. The room was spacious and new but in the attic with many strange angles requiring me to duck my head around the bed, in the kitchen etc. The light switches did not and the TV didn’t work in the evening. I reported it the following morning and it was looked at. They acknowledged that it wasn’t a great room. They offered to fix it but I was heading out. The lighting stopped working in the bathroom, I asked about that and it was promptly fixed. There are no power points near the bed for phone charging. I needed to request an iron and ironing board. They don’t cost much, equip rooms with them. The bathroom had no bench space and the power point is hidden. There was no light near the full length mirror in the bedroom. Not that you can stand up straight there anyway because of the sloping roof.  Thank goodness my husband wasn’t travelling with me he would have found the sloping ceiling annoying to manoeuvre with his height.I was told upon check in that I needed to decide if I was having breakfast the following day right then. I wasn’t sure and said yes. The following I was given the most uncomfortable table in the middle of an empty restaurant. I asked to move and was able to. The breakfast was sub par and not worth the 20+ of breakfast items I didn’t really want and with no selection.  There was a plate of cheese and ham. A breadbasket and a croissant. A pot of yogurt and chocolate granola. There was also a fruit platter. The strawberries were mouldy and I left them on the plate. I asked for an alternate museli and was given raw oats. I was told I could select eggs. I assumed 2. I asked for poached and not runny.

We had the upper penthouse with a small terrace overlooking the whole lake, just wonderful! The food is excellent, breakfast outside or inside just perfect and the staff couldn’t be more helpful! Thank you Giovanni and team for this wonderful stay!

A truly delightful experience in a magical location, the hotel has been painstakingly restored in exquisite detail and is an absolute triumph. The owner couldn’t be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble and his Italian heritage reflected in his very personable service. A genuinely pleasurable experience that I very much look forward to repeating, bravo! ❤️

Good location, very new and modern finish despite how old the building is.

Inaccurate listing and messy booking process. I had specifically booked a room for a child and with a kitchenette. Neither the child bed nor the kitchen was set up properly on arrival. The receptionist on duty apologised and said they made a mistake, and that I had in fact booked both. My booking.com confirm clearly shows a kitchenette included and makes no mention of any kitchen surcharge. However upon exit the owner tried to hit me with a surcharge for the child and another for the kitchen. After explaining that both of these were supposed to have been included in the package I booked on booking.com, they removed the child surcharge but not the kitchen surcharge. They have billed me an extra 45chf per night for the kitchenette to my card although I didn’t agree to it. I am now disputing that with booking.com, as I believe I have already paid this charge within my headline room rate on the booking.com package I chose. The hotel is new and they have clearly made some early mistakes when using the platform, but I as the customer am paying for them! They could easily have waived this and apologised for their own ineptitude when listing their place on booking.com but they chose not to go down that route. I don’t appreciate this kind of customer service when booking tiny 1 bedroom hotels for nearly 500eur a night. The kitchenette in question in any case was very limited and not comparable to a full kitchen.

Great location in the old town, beautiful historic building

It took me a little while to figure out how the lighters worked - that’s all!

No staff at the reception at any time. No phone in the room so you can communicate with the staff.

I liked the unassuming nature of the accommodation. I showed it to friends and they loved it and the ability to have privacy in the suites if someone else was to share using the sofa bed.
