Hotel is under renovation and so my room was new, breakfast was perfect

Reaching room is difficult because of renovation

The room was clean and the turnover service was very good. Breakfast was extensive and tasty. The restaurant has a limited but tasty menu. It was also very sleek and clean. Personnel was very friendly.

The room was a bit outdated. The shower could use a small renovation, it looked unclean but this was due to kitting that was old and worn down. The rooms were not isolated enough so we could hear our neigbours through the walls and people walking and talking in the hallway.

The location was fantastic! Very close to beautiful grounds to walk the dogs.The beds and sheets were very nice and clean.The room was a good size and had a direct exit onto the grass patch outside, very handy for the toilet before bedtime for the dogs.

The hotel was tired looking and in a desperate need of tlc. I believe they are currently renovating parts of it.The carpet in the room was extremely dirty, the one in the corridor was covered temporarily (I hope) with another piece of fabric.Door to the bathroom was very loose while closing, with some nails sticking out.Shower did not have much water pressure.Charge for the dogs was a little bit steep.One of the beds had a broken leg which we managed to temporarily fix so we could lie on it.The price for the room was based on the amount of stars the hotel used to have not on the quality.

Had to go to another hotel, al rooms where sold out. Hotel did not try to notify me in advance. Lost more then an hour in work time

An OK hotel, however it needs updating and the general outside needs updating too. Reception staff were fantastic but the bar person needs a personality injection. Breakfast was 100%

Usual excellent standards you expect with a Van der Valk. The room was large and appeared to have been refurbished in the past few years, great big comfy bed. Tea & coffee making facilities, and patio doors leading to patio area with chairs. When checking in the guy didn’t speak much English & we didn’t speak much German, but he was perfectly helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

Near the motorway

Bathroom not good. Water drain is leaking

The room was outdated but extremely clean and comfortable, especially the comfy fluffy bedding, and the gorgeous marble bathroom with full tub and separate shower. Also the outside terrace with lovely views was a nice touch. The breakfast included was a great spread from hot and cold foods, juices and coffees and teas. And the buffet dinner was excellent with lots of choices of beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian options, salads and more. The staff front desk were super friendly, and the restaurant staff were very nice as well. Would come back again and recommend Hotel Gladbeck to all.

It was 27.00 Euro taxi drive to Veltins Arena which was expensive for the 2 day convention which came up to over 100.00 Euros for the 4 taxi rides. But, other than that, everything else was great!

It's a very beautiful place with friendly staff. The hotel looks amazing and very clean. The staff is very friendly. The biggest plus that we didn't have to wait to check in. We were allowed to check in immediately. The parking is free and available. The interior is very beautiful and each room has a balcony. Especially convenient for smokers.

The only thing that I didn't like was the toilet door that doesn't close properly, but only stretches all the way. Sometimes it creates extra noise and deprives privacy. I really like everything else and I'm ready to return to this hotel.

Breakfast was very good. The selection was excelent, and the staff was very helpful.

Convenient location next to the motorway. Restaurant on sight was a plus.Spacious room.Breakfast is good. Nice variety of bread and all sorts of warm and cold things.

Bit dated overall. Balcony which runs all the way along all rooms.Air-conditioning didn't work (reported to the reception the next morning).Some corners could use some more cleaning.

The restaurant serves a little menu, with is not in line with the quality I know from other Valk Hotels.The breakfast is traditionally perfect.

Never used van der Valk in Germany.Bathroom and room were superclean. Outside of the building and the doors look like a bit outdated.

I was in this hotel many times. First time alone because of work but in the past I was here with my family because we are visiting Movie park every year. Clean bathrooms, very good beds. Furniture remember better times but its ok. I will always return in this hotel.

Windows has some small vents and it was imposible to close it. Probably some dirt inside. People smoke cigarettes on balcony and all the cigarettes smoke was inside my room. This was first time I have a problem in this hotel.

Lovely staff, nice christmass decorations, clean hotel, bath &shower on room.

No fridge on room.

The location

The hotel is outdated and needs a renovation. The rooms had insects. In the bathroom and even one in our bed. You expect more of a 4-star hotel that is expensive

T recently booked a room at Hotel Gladbeck van der Valk for the night of November 13, 2024, at a confirmed price of €97.87.However, upon arrival at the hotel around midnight with my girlfriend, we were informed by the receptionist (a male staff member) that the room I had reserved was not available.Instead, I was offered another room for €150, with the requirement to pay this new amount at the reception.This was deeply disappointing and unprofessional, as I had already booked and confirmed a specific room and price. Despite the late hour, I did not accept their offer due to the unreasonable price hike and lack of accountability. The situation escalated when the receptionist used disrespectful language and treated me poorly, seemingly because I am a foreigner.This was an incredibly unpleasant and frustrating experience. Not only did the hotel fail to honor my reservation, but the behavior of the staff was unacceptable. I strongly advise others to avoid staying at this hotel due to the poor service, lack of professionalism, and discriminatory treatment I experienced.
