- The location and staff are excellent! Plus, the hotel offers parking.
- The position of the hotel is great, right in the main square of the Old Town. Some of the staff was nice others could need some Customer Service training :)
- Very clean, quiet, good position in the city old center, parking possibility, very nice staff
Cons -
- Because it was on the main square (and we were there on a Saturday night) it was a bit noisy when the pubs closed, but other than that all was great!
- The breakfast was ok (few options, but ok for the price) , but very confusing instructions on the place to get breakfast. Day one was at 1st floor, second morning the place was empty. Going down in the bar to ask, i was first sent back to 1st floor. Telling them that i came from there, they were not 100% sure where they would serve it. They eventually served it in the bar ,asking me what i want, with no menu or breakfast list. Also, i did not manage to have a warm shower while being there.. the tap end kept falling so i could not set the water on warm. I ended up taking a cold shower. Not great, not terrible place.I would probably not go back, there are options in the area at similar prices and better service.

The location, situated in the old city it is a place with a lot of history.
The cleanliness. The carpets and rugs on the floor of the room were not properly cleaned / vacuumed and full of long hair that would stick to your feet. The air vents were full of dust and mold. The toilet wasn`t clean when I have arrived. The radiator was full of air, could not heat the room and made funny noises at night when the water/heating agent tried to circulate through the installation.
We didn’t not stay.
When we arrived the staff told us that our reservation was cancelled via Booking, but in fact it was not and it was still active. And we had a message from them after we made the online reservation that they had accepted and they were expecting us. We suspect that they had a large group request in the meantime for a high number of rooms and they filled their capacity. At least the staff was kind enough to recommend another hotel nearby, though that was more expensive and we had no other options but to take it. Very bad experience.
The location is excellent, on the main square with parking behind. This is a nice good value hotel and the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful.
I had a single room which was extremely small as was the shower room, the breakfast choice is very limited.
Rooms are well furnished and equipedThe hotel is new.The hotel has private parking at no cost.
We booked the room for three people but they had prepared the room only for two people. As the room was in the last floor (attic) you had to be careful for not bumping your head into the ceiling in some parts of the room.
Loved location, great coffee bar
Staff seemed sublimely disinterested Service was appalling and serious language barriers. Difficult for foreign tourists.
good ventillation
The breakfast is a bad experience. You have to ask for everything. You get it, but maybe in the morning you are not in the mood to talk to staff. The rooms were not cleaned while we stood there. There was 1 piece of toilet paper.
The people were very nice and friendly, the location was very good and with a nice view. The room was clean and big. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was cozy.
The shower was very small.
The location is in the central square. The staff was very friendly and ready to meet any of our request. The room was very big. The size of the bathroom could havea walk-in shower or even a bathtub. The food in the restaurant was good and at decent prices. Breakfast was good, as you have some choices (salty or sweet), but not too much food put on the table to be waisted. They offered us altervatives that could be prepared if we like. I believe that the hotel have a very good policy against food waiste which is great.
The air conditioning in the room was a mobile device which was very noisy and not too eficient.
The location was good, also pretty clean
I booked a room specifically with air conditioning but it wasn’t working properly, i didn’t feel any cool air coming. The guy at the reception said that it’s working but we didn’t feel it. And then we wanted to take a shower but there was no shampoo at all ?
Good location in Baia Mare old town on a square with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from for eats. Breakfast was very good overseen by helpful, welcoming staff. The chap on the front desk was also very personable. Off street parking with a barrier to the rear of the building.
Given the Summer heatwave air conditioning would have been nice!! There are rooms with A/C but you have to specifically request them if you want to be sure. The cleaning lady missed someone elses soap sitting on the shower gel dispenser in the bathroom. Said dispenser was also empty. Mildly irritating but not the end of the world.
Great location, clean room, and great restaurant
Noise insulation is not the best.
It is a beautiful antik building, renovated with good taste. Comfortable, familiar, but also very special and aesthetic. Their warm welcome and personal services made our stay exceptional.
Menu card in English would be great.
The position was perfect & our room was lovely & the goid was very good. We arrived a bit later than thought & wish we were told the kitchen was closing because we missed dinner there. The breakfast was delicious& the dining area was so pretty.
The staff greeting us should have shown us right away the restaurant so we could have eaten dinner there. It’s known for very good food& we were also not shown where things were so I went downstairs & thought thrv restaurant was there as it was a dining space but the restaurante as upstairs. They did a disservice to the restaurant & chef by not telling us that the kitchen closed at 10;00 We specifically wanted to eat there but thought it had already closed at 8:30We ended upHaving pizza nearby.
Very good breakfast, beautiful homemade bread. A sunny beautiful room. The hotel is perfectly situated in a beautiful square. The northern part of Romania is stunning & interesting.
Not having the dining options& times explained, we missed having a great dinner there because the staff did not share any information with us or show us the restaurant
A very nice boutique Hotel in an excellent location right on the main squrae in Baia Mare old town. Very comfortable room and spotlessly clean. The staff were very cheerful and helpful.
Only a single plug socket in the room beside the bed. No plug socket at the desk to plug in a laptop/phone. A bit inconvenient but not the end of the world!
Lovely location on the main Square. Staff Andrea was wonderful. Very comfortable bed.
Check out was terrible, due to a surly, argumentative, lazy staff person Claud. I told the Hotel in a message I would need help with my luggage for check-in and checkout. Check-in was a breeze, the staff was wonderful. I informed them I needed to check out before seven the next morning, and was assured that was OK. However, at 6:40am I could not find anyone. I finally found a sign on the outside door, telling me to call a number - it took 15 minutes for him to come down. Meanwhile I had a train to catch. He arrived at the same time as Andrea came to work. She was wonderful, he was not. He did not want to go get my suitcase, argued with Andrea, made “shut up” hand gestures to me. It took him 20 minutes to bring it downstairs. He slammed the bag on the sidewalk and snarled in Romanian, I know not what. Andrea was wonderful , called a taxi for me, apologized for Claud (not her fault!). She is smart, responsive and completely understands customer service. I’d promote her and fire Claud.
A group of 16 of us stayed at Hotel Diafan last weekend for two nights before a wedding and loved every minute! All of us were of the same opinion of how amazing the stay was. The hotel staff were absoutely fantastic. So polite, so welcoming and took care of our every need. Some of us met the owners and they were incredibly lovely people. We had a chat and drink with them in the evening and they were really friendly as were the hotel staff. The hotel itself is really nice. The main entrance area and dining area looked great and was really modern and clean. The rooms were perfect for our needs and the bed was extremely comfortable.Overall, i would 1 million percent recommend this hotel!
The only improvement needed would be the breakfast. A very small selection that wasn’t great.
