    • Everything is just emazing!Great Hotel, perfect location in the heart of the old town Jerusalem. The view from roof top terrace was just incredible!Room was very clean, quiet, in the new building with big common terrace. It was perfect for morning Chi Gong and Tai Chi!The food and the cakes in the coffe place of the hotel, were very tasty! The staff of the hotel were very helpfull and nice people. Thank You!!!

    Cons -

    • Easier keys for the room. I had difficulty with the first room and changed. The room change was due to no hot water in my first room. Arriving in the middle of the night, I would have appreciated having warm water!

Location (Old city), cleanliness, staff is very helpful and well trained, nice green garden outside, food in the caffe is tasty, coffee is very good, there is some authentic Austrian food, rooftop with great view on Old city, the building itself is interesting.

Beds: two separate beds that moved by itself aside too easyly.Bath: one kind of some soap, no shampoo or body lotion. Some constant mystery noise of wind in the room.

Options for breakfast was good and we really like the location..

The price was little high,But everything was nice and clean, And the staff were very nice they assist us every possible way they can. There was lift but could have been better if they can manage to make from the very ground floor because it was little inconvenient to carry our luggage from the ground floor till reception...

The Austrian Hospice is a beautiful 19th century building that has recently gone through some reservations and has a great deal of character. The rooms are large and with a very high ceiling. The location is conveniently by station number three of the Via Dolorosa and the property is an oasis of peace in an otherwise crowded and hectic place. The staff are all pleasant young people who are spending a year of service in Israel and the coffee shop has the best sachertorte and apple strudel this side of Vienna. The breakfast buffet is small by Israeli standards, but more than sufficient. The view from the roof of the hotel is spectacular and not to be missed.

I would highly recommend the hotel to independent travelers since it is a no frills experience. The beds are comfortable but only barely so. In my room, the beds were separate and not appropriate for a couple. This being Winter, the rooms were chilly and I needed the space heater that was available. There is no tea set with hot water heater that would have been a welcome benefit. The location is good, but if you are coming with suitcases, it is not convenient. The closest light rail is more than a ten minute uphill climb. Also, the Damascus Gate is the main entry to the Old City for the Muslim community and there are some security concerns during tense periods. Lastly, this is not a hotel for people who are used to the creature comforts of hotels like the Hilton or Sheraton, but rather a more bare bones affair for people who have a sense of history.

The location of the hotel is nothing less then amazing. In the middle of Jerusalem's old city, on the Via Delarosa. The room was big but very vintage (which I really liked). There was no air-condition, however there was a ventilator and a radiator. I'm not sure I would rent a room in mid summer, but opening the windows and turning on the ventilator was sufficient. Also there was no TV in the room, which was fine by me, but I think you should be aware of this. There is no parking at the hotel, in fact there is no parking at the hotel, in fact, if you rent a car in Jerusalem (which I don't think you should...) you'll simply have to park it outside the old city, and it will probably be expensive. There is a mosque right next to the hotel, and I was awakened by the muezzin when he called for prayers at about 5:00 AM. However, I got back to sleep after a few minutes. The view from the windows was amazing, and breakfast was tasty. The staff were friendly and the room was clean.

Best location for a stay in Jerusalem! You are in the middle of everything. Building and grounds are expansive and a little oasis of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of the Old Town. Amazing views from the rooftop. Don’t forget to try some Austrian pastries in the cafe! The rooms in the old building are more picturesque than the annex but all good value. We had one of the old building rooms with a balcony - stunning!

Nothing! That being said - if you have a lot of luggage, call ahead and ask if reception can organise to have you picked up from one of the gates. Cars cannot enter into the Old Town. It’s not far to walk but cumbersome if you have a lot to carry or aren’t happy to walk a lot.

This is my go-to home away from home. The people are outstanding, the location is unbeatable, and the AC is refreshing. Highly recommend! It was the first time I've stayed in the main building and I loved it. I was right next to the salon and had a magnificent piano concert when a former volunteer practiced. It was incredible. Also, the main driver, Fadi, is an absolute gem to work with and know. I left my phone and wallet in his car, and I knew it was safe with him. As expected, everything came back intact. You can't put a price on integrity.

Bathroom lighting could be improved, but that's it!

I love this place, especially the location. The breakfast is usually pretty good, and the staff are amazing.

The AC didn't work the first night. That was tough. The bed isn't the greatest and the cleaning could be a bit more thorough, especially in the corners and the shower.

Very large room. Great view from roof top. Easy to find via Damascus Gate. Close to everything in the old city.

    No tv

Great historic quaint place, with a Viennese cafe, a chapel, a recital room, and a great deal of charm.

Not all parts of the building are served by a lift, so it is very tough if you are coming with a heavy suitcase. The door locks were also really strange and took a while to open.

Best location in the old city of Jerusalem, and best rooftop view, hands down. Clean and new facilities, helpful staff.

    Comfier beds.

The Austrian Hospice is an oasis in the bustling Old City. The location is ideal. The room in the older part was full of character. The grounds just beautiful. I’m coming back again and again.

I stayed here for one night in March 2023. I was checked into the new building which isn’t part of the actual hospice but was built in 2019.The room was spacious with good WiFi, a desk, two twin beds, a bathroom, toiletries and a hair dryer. There is no kettle or tv though. There is a lovely terrace with multiple floors you can sit on which is private the to the new building residents. Lots of benches to sit on and it overlooks the Via Delarosa. The beds are comfy and there are ample plug sockets for charging. You can open the shutters of your window to have a view of the hospice.Breakfast was fab, there was a hot drinks machine, lemon, orange juice and water. There is fresh fruit, boiled eggs, meats, salad, cereals, toast, cake, yogurt and chocolate and vanilla puddings. The dining area is lovely and the staff are warm. The main hospice is open to the public, it is like a museum inside with a beautiful chapel and library. As a resident you can go onto the roof included in the price, but as a visitor it is 5NIS to visit which is well worth the money if you don’t stay here. There are commanding views of Jerusalem which is especially amazing at sunset.A lovely hotel, great for a relaxing stay, but if you want to stay in the actual hospice don’t book a terrace room as this is a new building next door.

    There is no TV.
