Merici Hotel Sittard

Unique (old monastery). Clean, friendly, warm and inviting. Nice restaurant and breakfast. Great location next to Sittard square.

Excellent location, beautiful hotel, specious clean room. We like it very much.

The hotel is pretty consistent in service. Mostly the same friendly staff welcoming you.

This time I had a room (508) with a weird layout where the door to come in the room nearly hits the desk and the light switch is not reachable (or visible in the dark). If you enter in the dark its easy to get hurt.

good choices for breakfast, nice view from room, good facilities in the room (coffee maker), good channels on the tv, comfortable room, nice staff.

Breakfast is stable (always the same) although a bit pricey. Location is convenient, close to downtown and about 15 min walk from the central station.

Around 330 AM suddenly the piping started to make noises, which kept me awake. Its the first time I heard this (stayed here about 10 times) so can be an incident.

Bathroom design with semi-transparent glass toilet door, no space beside the sink, silly soap dispenser location.

Amazing hotel - large and comfortable beds, friendly staff, good breakfast. Perfect combination of historical building atmosphere and modern amenities.

Not really an issue with the hotel but it was hard to find an entrance (Google maps leads to the backside of the building).

Nice location and helpful staff. Great breakfast.great coffee in the room. Options also for tea. The hotel is a really art monument.

The room setup was not functional, with tv close to the bed. For tall people is a problem. The fridge was not working at all.

Love the spacious room and the interior. Good breakfast with plenty of selections. It was certainly a good value for money.

Location is great as close to great walking paths, and close to the square for lots of restaurant choices

When I come I have a very early start time for the work I do, and nothing really for breakfast that early. Ability to have rolls and fruit to go would be excellent - I dont know how many are in my situation

The ONE drink voucher the receptionist brought after my friend had saved the life of a child in the reception area. He had been on the way up to our room, waiting by the lift when a mum came out of the lift with a collapsed boy in her arms. The child was blue and unresponsive, not breathing and he resuscitated the boy that had pretty much landed in his arms, with the mother of course hysterical and just screaming. Ambulance was called, the boys family appeared and my friend, very traumatised came back upstairs to our room. Not the best start of what should have been a fun weekend away, and the receptionist had zero clue of what to do and the boy likely wouldn’t have made it if my friend hadn’t been there. Thank god he was!! Didn’t expect a reward and he acted in pure instinct but having the receptionist later knock on our door to give him one little drink voucher for the bar downstairs is just sad.. Either reward someone for their heroism properly or don’t at all, a few cents the free drink cost the hotel is really just insulting when a dead child would have caused the staff at the hotel a great deal of trauma one could imagine. Won’t return because of this, mainly out of principle, despite the place being really nice. Just too baffled at how cheap and inconsiderate people can be.

Registering for Wifi is from the old timesThe hotel is nicely located in the center, however still a 15-20 min walk from the station hence not that convenient with luggage.Although the breakfast in nice, over 20€ for breakfast is a bit too much in my view (but then I am not a real breakfast person).

Loved the staff, friendly check in and check out. Loved the beautiful hotel and it was minutes to shops and the beautiful big church. Its a very small city but beauitful. The little square is nice for a drink too!

The restaurant menu lacks vegan options. The comfort rooms are very dark.
