Good value
No host, check-in through phone call. Noisy main road.
Breakfast good.
Problems getting keys on initial arrival at 14.30hrs, having already stated that was the time we would be there. We already had Email confirmation this would be OK.
Very close to motorway so excellent for overnight stay. Good parkingGood breakfast buffet
Not near any walkable restaurants for evening meal unless you want a big Mac. Plenty of restaurants in Dienst but requires short car trip.
Breakfast was okay.
Check in is like: is this your name / sign here.Classic keys and door handles, you need to lock the door every time again. No dinner. Rooms seem renovated, but in a poor way, f.e. old wooden hollow doors still in bathroom, showing all kinds of signs they’re old. Shower leaks water on the floor where it isn’t supposed to. Shower buttons are placed other way around. Wallpaper loosens, etc…
Fine for a quick stopover, breakfast was good
Very noisy, paper thin walls. The lift was behind our heads and we could hear it going up and down all night. Lots of loud doors slamming and not enough plug sockets. They had plugged in several appliances into one socket. The shower overflowed into the rest of the bathroom after 5 minutes. The bunkbed the kids slept on was very wobbly so every time one moved, it woke the other up.
The bathroom was very modern , good showerReasonable breakfast. Good coffee.
Customer service on our arrival — very much left to ourselves when we asked for a taxi etc. and the Bat was not open which is one reason we booked this hotel. No remote control in my room for the air con and after the receptionist giving me one with out batteries and another 4 that didn’t activate it we found that my colleagues worked perfectly so we shared !!
Location
Noise Not from traffic but from other guests.Talking loudly in corridors between 2330 hrs and 0200hts. Next doors routine of confocal activities starting at 0100hrs to 0300hrs each night and then having a shower
Behind the hotel is a beautiful natural area. The higher rooms at the back offer a view of this and it makes for great walking. The historical town of Diest is at a 30 minute walk with great views. The hotel offers free walking guides in the lobby that show you how to get there (look for the one about Webbekom). Ample parking at the back, well-lit lot. There's also a bus stop in front of the hotel, served regularly during the weekdays, less at night - service stops as early as 21h00 - and in the weekends. Buses in the opposite direction are available via a walking tunnel. The building itself is also charming. A bit close to the highway, but the busy local road at the front gets very quiet at night, making this a fairly calm location overall. Good value with a larger than average room and a basic breakfast included. Common areas welcoming and clean. Friendly welcome by very hospitable person that can easily be tracked down around the hotel if not at the desk.
The bedlinen and the bathroom facilities were clean. The rest of the room wasn't. Some things are just in need of freshening up and can be forgiven at this price, some stains and damage to the wall and the carpet and out of order lights built into the bedframe for example. Other things are easier to fix and don't cost a lot. A good vacuum clean under the bed, a stain treatment here and there, a good dusting in the corners, descaling the hot water kettle, putting the bottom of the shower curtain in some bleach... A bit of minor upkeep in and around the hotel will certainly improve the overall experience, which now was sometimes a bit icky.
Good and quiet place to take rest
Had zero big lamp in the room, just 2-3 small ones
Poor
There was no towels on my bedroom. I arrived in the middle of the night and couldn't rely on the towels to take a shower. Also, they have A/C but even though it was super warm they didn't give us the remote control to turn it on.
Overall rated fair, Location was good, always parking available and priced reasonably. Staff friendly and breakfast was ok,
A couple of issues with the room but was too tired to fuss over them. Sheets weren't clean, fridge didn't work and the bed side lamps didn't work. No kettle in the room and charging 1.80 for half a cup of hot water is ridiculous. Lacked variety of cooked meat (bacon/sausage) on breakfast, as long as you like scrambled eggs and Tapas meats.
Garden, place, house, everything :-)
sometimes it was a problem to open the door to the room ;-)but it wasn't a big problem.
we loved the room and bathroom, also the location was exactly what we were looking for. The room was dark, clean, quiet The bed is super soft, which we liked.
the airco didnt work but other than that it was okay. We slept with the window open.
Easy check-in, good breakfast.
The beds were not comfortable, difficult to rest.
Great breakfast in terms of variety and quality. Convenient location just outside of town and off a highway.
The shower floor is a bit slippery even when dry and, since the water is very hard, can be somewhat dangerous when using soap. It's manageable but guests must be careful. This was the case with my room and that of my 2 guests. No blackout curtains or blinds in my room but my friends said there were in theirs.
Air conditioning. Helpful staff comfortable room. Terrace
No evening meal, but delivery from local restaurants wad available
Lovely place, comfortable and well sized bedrooms the grounds were well kept
The facilities were good, the breakfast was decent, it's one of the few locations in the area. The price was ok.
The check-in was awful. They didn't know we were arriving, there was no one at the hotel, we called and called and no one picked up. Luckily the receptionist arrived randomly at some point, barely apologized (barely spoke English tbh). It felt like we were lucky to get in at all, despite arriving before the specified time on Booking. The place is decent enough but felt very unreliable.
